#13 possesses telekinetic capabilities, able to project some invisible force upon objects at a distance, often to destructive ends. His capabilities fluctuate without clear indication as to why, and so far, despite its simplicity, its nevertheless considered the most unstable Miracle currently in the possession of the Church. At times, entire landscapes are warped, the earth splitting apart. At times, a hundred holes perforate steel plates and the men hiding behind them. At times, this force is almost soft, fuzzy, simply lifting people up further and further and further, before letting them drop.

There are no clear tells: even in complete sensory isolation or full unconsciousness, his powers manifest at a reactive level to shield him from harm or crush his enemies flat. There is no clear range either: it was presumed that his range was vision-based, until a nuclear submarine beyond the horizon was ripped in half and its nuclear arsenal deposited upon the pyramids.

It's simply an invisible force, with endless destructive application.

I’m thinking #3 is the most publicly utilized number in warfare. They don’t shy away from showing what he’s capable of doing since the common man can watch him and comprehend what they’re seeing. Also, we’re starting off in New York City so I’ve got some threads to pull on for him.

Book One:

The Post Hider

We’re going to be trying something a little different from what I typically do! Usually the posting cycle is: everyone posts in a round, and then a new GM post hits and then repeat. Let’s stray away from the norm for once and try something weird.

₁. GM posts will remain once a week, typically happening on a Saturday or Sunday unless something horrible happens. But in between my posts, players will be able to post freely back and forth within a scene. I’d implore you not to spam out 3-5 paragraph posts, and instead if you’d like to post more than once in a round you make sure that you’re moving things forward with the space you’re taking up and not just shitposting with dialogue.

₂. Within my posts I’ll be distinctly labeling a scenario (scene) with brackets to indicate a time/location/situation where players can interact without the GM needing to interact immediately for the narrative to progress. This means you’ll be able to puppet your handlers, talk to NPCs, and interact with your environment with the restriction to this being combat.

Here’s an example of what a scene would look like.

₃. Last but certainly not least, is responsibility in posts. Let’s just list out what I’ll have control of, what you’ll have control of, and what we’ll share control of.

GM exclusive: Combat, death, important NPCs marked with colored text.

Player exclusive: Your character, items on your person, things you are actively performing an action upon.

Shared: Handlers, unimportant NPCs, and the environment.

Tensions are once again rising in the western provinces as rogue militants from beyond the walls have increasingly encroached on state borders. Most recently, along Canada’s southern Outskirts there has been an attack that has polluted one of the few remaining clean water resources for North America. The waters of Niagara now run red with a strange substance that is corrupting local flora and fauna into nightmarish faux organisms that the militaries have struggled to combat.

Strings are pulled by the Catholic Church to— for the first time in many years gather numbers on standby along with their handlers and meet at a summit in a neutral meeting space owned and operated by the church. It is without the religious imagery of their exuberant cathedrals, nor are there priests or sisters to monitor the halls. Instead it is operated by a mixture of operators and political assets that are positioned in the states as a means of direct communication for their many instruments to coordinate.

The name of this facility is “The Rookery”.

”You’re going to laugh your fucking ass off. The handlers are going to be here later this evening.” Spoke a clean-cut man with olive skin dressed in a black and gray suit with tie and all.

“So, their abominations along with them— I assume?” Asked a smaller blonde woman, dressed almost identically to the man though sitting at a desk with a laptop.

”The ones that are paired with the handlers, obviously you fucking dumbass.” The man snorted with a shake of his head before turning to slump his ass against the desk his partner sat at.

”I don’t get involved in that shit Andre, have that localized general be here within the hour so we have some bodies on standby.” The blonde kept her blue eyes locked to the laptop, her black painted fingernails doing little more than click and clack at the keys of her black keyboard.

”Fine-fine-fine Natalia, I’ll be back once I’m done.” It wouldn’t be very long until the olive skinned man was quickly making his way to the back of the room, opening the door and marching his way out with haste.

Outside of the Rookery was an entourage of frightened, excited, and unanimously hysterical new yorkers. Some held cameras, other wooden signs with doomsday rhetoric scribbled onto them. Barriers kept them at bay, and the armed U.S soldiers behind them probably reinforced that secureness for anyone entering or leaving the facility. Typically this building was mostly ignored, the representatives that came and went maintained a low profile to prevent any targets from finding assets entering the building.

Verbum Sigillatum — The Sealed Word|

#14 seems to be able, in some way, to mutter words and sounds that seem to be impossible to comprehend, record or even be heard by mortal beings. Such words can be clearly heard by all beings in a radius of 1km from her, even if the are merely whispered. A few select people of profound faith who hear those, claim to be able to hear the words and mention as them being the forbidden language of angels while others merely hear a profound rumbling along with the sound of a far away bell.

The first word ceases all sound inside the area, causing an absolute and complete, deafening silence, making any kind of verbal communication impossible. Heartbeats of all those inside seem to beat in unison, being the only sound that can be heard. #14 is able to hear the heartbeat of those inside the area and accurately pinpoint their location.

"Sathariel"

The second word causes a blinding light to shine down from the heavens. All darkness is washed away by a flood of divine light and ethereal feathers. Deception becomes utterly impossible inside this area, be it trying to hide or conceal oneself, lie or deceive. Masks — magical, physical, emotional — shatter. #14 seems to be able to move in flickers while inside the area. Like light glancing off a mirror she seems to appear just where attention isn’t, seeming to vanish between glances and making targeting, hitting or even keeping up with her as she moves very hard.

"Raziel"

The third word causes all other miracles or supernatural abilities that are not born of true holiness or pure intent to be severely weakened. Those with strong link to the divine claim to feel a tremendous spiritual weight upon hearing the word, a reminder of their origin. Those of unholy or unclear nature are compelled to kneel. Stronger ones are able to resist this effect, but are still impacted by it, becoming slower and sluggish. All those who dare defy the divine law inside the area and move with ill intent will find their actions reflected back to them.

This kind of concept always kind of teeters between allowable or not. The edge classic--the unstable romantic who can't tell the difference between love and hunger. Don't show her any affection and all that. Also, is she a 7 8 9 pun? Yes. Is she a "would you still love me if I were a worm" joke? Also yes.

If this iteration is a bit much, I'll probably cut down her concept to be significantly less unstable. Quite a lot of high number people. There is a large amount of alt concepts I went through--this one was just the one that I liked the most.

Number Seven's power is contained in her words. Sweet nothings that not only poison the mind but putrefy the world with saccharine suggestions.

That is to say, her power to affect others isn't mind control. Instead, it's a mere suggestion to one's actions. To say an outright command would do nothing--outright refusal can easily deny any command Seven can give. But poisoning the mind with "wouldn't it be strange to stop breathing" would find the listener suddenly gasp as they realized they had not taken breath for some time. To tell someone to mind their step as they walked can easily result in a misplaced step off a ledge.

How her words affect the world is a stranger oddity. If something is unobserved, she can alter it. If she says how nice it will be for a door to be unlocked, it will be unlocked so long as nobody is watching the lock. If she states how bad it were to be if she were shot, bullets will miss her. Of course, observed phenomena are impossible to alter. If someone swings a knife at her, she can do little to alter it.

This, however, doesn't mean that she can create or destroy anything with her words. It merely means she can shift its state, location, or such quality. It also doesn't mean that she can skirt logic--something cannot become another thing.

And in truth, her power can easily be cancelled out. One must first hear her words before becoming victim to the suggestions. Chanting impossibilities negates whatever power her words may have. And of course, an utmost focus in all of one's actions minimizes any effect of suggestion. And for anyone who is astute enough, they can tell when she is using her power. Even if only by a small amount, her tongue extends beyond her lips.

A certain virality lingers in her words. If a victim is under a suggestion and repeats it, those who hear the repetition may also be afflicted as her words worm their way into their subconscious.
