And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Certainly the world knows nothing more dangerous than the trade of an adventurer and especially a monster hunter. These hired blades risk their lives daily for personal gain, or perhaps more altruistic reasons entirely, but in the end the risk always remains: What if something goes wrong? That is what this group of hunters got a grim reminder of first hand... Their mark, the elusive creature of the night known to men as the "Wolfwing", turned the tables on them and imprisoned them in a show of man-like cunning.
Will they ever see their friends and family again?

Greetings! I am Hekazu and you'll usually find me prowling in the Tabletop section, although for this game I have chosen to leave the dice behind and instead create a story of a daring escape with any who feel the need to subject their characters to the danger such a scheme carries with itself. A word of forewarning (or a blessing to some, I am sure): This will not be a long-term RP! As soon as the escape has either been pulled off or every individual has perished in the claws of their former prey turned their predator the game will be over.

Back to the game itself, the general idea will be a little something like this: The group (you, the players) were on the hunt for a creature that has been terrorising local cattle and farmers alike, leaving only a bloody mess behind. Eyewitnesses reported seeing "a giant wolf-like creature with wings", and thus came the name "Wolfwing". A high bounty was placed on the creature's head, but few dared attempt tracking, let alone slaying it: 'Ordinary' werewolves were a challenge enough and one that had wings? No deal. You did not turn this down however, as you trusted in your skills. In the end, said trust was misplaced, and you awaken in an abandoned stone-walled cell with well kept iron bars blocking your way out. The creature was much more intelligent than anticipated. For the upcoming escape, I am looking for three to five people! Feel free to ask questions if you have any!

A baby dragon..

I do not believe they will fit into this game, no. Have you possibly made some kind of a mistake?
Ignoring Brannor's first remark, given how he too knew the door would have been fixed eventually, but better it be sooner rather than later. Soon, he heard some sense come from the human's direction however and that was worth replying something to. "Aye, big guy. We 'ad this door guarded and barred, but sumfin' went wrong. Let's make sure that ain't takin' place again, for you ain't the only one opposed to returnin'. Ya could start on it already if you'd like", Escobert replied to Brannor as he personally toiled to help Parum in her task. He then proceeded to call a couple volunteers from the next room to fetch more barricade worthy material.

A few minutes passed with the guards bringing in more material to block the port with, the people setting pieces in place and, if able and willing, preparing the barricade on the parts of the door that were already fixed. During this time, a man covered in a torn robe and stained bandages arrived. "I trust this was important, castellan, for you've interrupted my rest", they said as they walked into the room, soon continuing: "But I fail to see why calling upon me was necessary."

Escobert was quick to reply: "Lake, these 'ere people 'ave already given me a fair share of attitude. Ya dun' start with me now. 'Sides, ain't like anyone in this 'ere keep is gonna rest well this night. Join on in, we need ta fix this." The newcomer did not much more but rolled his eyes and joined the people working on the door with a casting of mending.

They had just reached the final moments of repairing, as a group of enemies approached from the outside, a group of kobolds and less armoured humans, one of the latter frantically pointing towards the port and waving their other hand at the two better armed individuals. The one being spoken to nodded, spoke a few words that couldn't be heard this far, sending the other one back the way they came from and personally charging the door under repairs, closely followed by the weaker henchmen. "Hold the door!" Escobert yelled. "We are nearly done! Keep the barricades in place!" he ordered to the ones not currently actively repairing.

Would you look at that, my laptop lost its ability to reliably connect to Wi-Fi. Will take a moment to sort this out, post may be delayed further.

EDIT: Problem probably solved. Post is up!
@Aqua Fire
Pardon me, what is this?
I guess I will be looking for a moment to squeeze a post in, given the radio silence. Perhaps even tonight, we'll see.
Happy Holidays you all! @Lucius Cypher@The Harbinger of Ferocity@Phoenix@Gordian Nought@Ryonara

I'm well now, so we should be able to get everything back on track as soon as the busiest days are over.
Having received attitude from the big man, the shield dwarf wasn't having none of that. "Find someone else? Find someone else he says!" Before he had the time to continue on that note, what Parum had to say defused the situation. "See, at least someone wants to try!" Escobert snapped out at Brannor. Before joining to help Parum, he yelled at the guardsmen at the door: "And corporal! Just in case this does not work, go fetch Mr. Lake." He couldn't quite figure out what governor saw in these people.

As one of the soldiers hurried off Escobert lifted one of the parts on the door to help the bard, trying his best not to lose his temper again. These people thought they knew everything, he could see it in their attitude. They were too young to understand... he'd probably been in charge of this keep alone for longer than they've lived, and he had seen his fair share of combat. He knew how to prioritise.

On the other side of the room, where Brannor had tried and tried again to stop their prisoner from dying in their hands, as they finally got their head injury in check, the man had already drawn their last breath. He knew the man had been still alive just before the last attempt, but there had to have happened something drastic during his final attempt. The prisoner didn't seem to be alive any longer.
Bad news: I'm sick. Was planning to post yesterday, but you'll probably hear of me on Thursday at earliest.
@Ryonara
On the meta side of things, Mending is in fact sufficient. Most of the door still hangs on the hinges so parts of the original structure will not be an issue. It will take more than one casting though, given the amount of damage the door has sustained. Five should be a fair amount.
