And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Welcome to the guild @The Angry Goat! If it's play-by-post roleplaying you are looking for, we've got it!

Since you asked for some pointers, we have our New User's Guide and rules available just beyond these two links. If only I wasn't going to bed right about now I would offer to help you through PM, but as things are I won't be available for a few hours :P

Hopefully you can find what you have come looking for! Let me tell you that fantasy is quite a common genre here though, so there should be no worries about it!
Welcome to the guild @MidnightLo!

Having looked over your preferences, I can assure you you will be able to find roleplays fitting those preferences. It naturally depends on your preferences on further content and level of writing, but having spent some time over in the 1x1 section, I can promise you should be able to find just what you are looking for. And if not, you can always just make an Interest Check of your own and somebody will be there to join you.

Again, welcome! If there are any questions you would like to ask, feel free to throw them my way, I'll try to help to the best of my ability!
Sergeant Longwater could not help but smile as the heroes of the night one by one offered their aid to Greenest in the near future, and to be fair once Parum had spoken a faint excuse of a one could momentarily be noticed on that damaged features of the governor as well. But if one missed that split second, it was long gone. The older man had listened to each of the present adventurers sharing their view on it and once they had done just that, he was ready to share what he himself had thought: "I had dared dream that you would offer your aid in finding their camp. Good to see that the hopes of an old governor are not something to discard as flight of fancy!" Having joined the conversation once more, he headed to the edge of the battlements and motioned the adventurers to join him.

"While I would love to send a few of my guard out there with you, you have seen with your own eyes what has happened to our town. We need most, if not all of my men to rebuild. Judging by the words of the prisoner, they have no intention of returning. And what would they even have to gain?" He shook his head, before turning to face the trio instead of his beloved town. "I cannot offer much aid for striking at their camp, but come morning I should have been able to gather all the supplies you may need. I have a feeling they won't be staying around that much longer... there are fires all around. They must have had the chance to go through the belongings of my fine people by now. Thieves and no-goods..." It was evident that the situation hurt the governor more than just the sum of his wounds.

As the man sighed, sergeant Longwater interjected from the side: "But indeed, I would also like to suggest you to rest and prepare for tomorrow. If the Governor is right, you might well need to move early." That was all he had to say to the two men and the halfling, as he next moved to the governor's side. "Governor Nighthill, sir, I would suggest you to rest as well..." he suggested to the leader.

The governor was having none of it. "Nonsense. I will not rest if the good people of Greenest are still out there. If they can stay awake, so can I! They need a leader now, not some old man snoozing away while they look for guidance."

Welcome to the guild @Jdsuiter28!

If we take a real broad look at it, this is a play-by-post roleplaying forum, a place where people engage in collaborative writing to tell their stories. If that sounds difficult to wrap one's head around, a quick look to some of the threads should explain how the system generally functions quite well. In case of needing a few pointers on how to act, we have our New User's Guide and rules available just beyond these two links.

I hope you find what you have come looking for here!
Welcome to the guild @Quebexy!

Having read through your description (no shame needed!) it would seem you will be able to find more than enough of roleplays like that! I would offer to play one with you myself, but I am used to longer replies. Anyhow, I hope you find your time here enjoyable!
Dyn'yer'zhead slowly floated away from the edge, leaving the matter to be handled by the captain. If she really wanted to pick up just about anyone from the sea, he would not question her choice. But just in case they might be a threat, Dyn was already going through a few plans of his own on getting them to leave the ship and its crew well and truly alone. It would not be a surprise to find out he defaulted to using magically enhanced violence. And even if those two were casters, he had Counterspell and Dispel Magic ready to go. However, it was evident that nobody else was really considering this to be an option.

Jill choosing Koan to receive the newcomers caused Dyn to blow some air from his maw, creating a sound that distantly reminded one of a chuckle. If the first person those two newcomers were to face was that jester, he had no envy for them. And knowing Koan's usual shenanigans, he simply chose to ignore what would transpire in the coming moments. Even in the best case scenario, he'd get a headache out of the trickster's much too flashy use of magic.

Instead, he mulled over future plans in his mind. So, next up they would be getting to a city from where they would gain more information about the marid that had been chosen as their next mark for whatever reason. Really, Jill had not discussed any rewards, seemingly willing to do this out of the sheer will of getting a grand story out of it. A commendable quality for a minion, but in leadership it was perhaps a little bit off. But that's why Dyn was here. While remaining ready to strike if the freeloaders were to present themselves as a threat, Dyn began writing a shopping list in his head. There were things he'd need to gather when they got to civilisation.
Welcome to the guild Gemma! I hope you find what you have come looking for!
Different to sitting around a table and rolling dice? Well, in a way for sure. If you miss the clattering shapes, we've got a whole section for Tabletop style roleplays though!

If we take the broadest look at it, you have arrived at a play-by-post roleplaying forum. Here people roleplay through collaborative writing, but that much could probably be derived from the general idea of mashing roleplay and forum together in the intention of handling roleplaying on said forum. The games that are not in tabletop usually don't use dice: People just go with what seems appropriate. Not that different, just with less game mechanics (and randomness). Some like it, some prefer to stick with the more gamey approach.

Anyhow, before I babble your ear off Dani, welcome to the guild! If you've got more questions, you could check out our New User's Guide and/or our rules, they might help. Or they might not, in which case you can ask pretty much anyone here! My PM inbox is open, for example!

Again, welcome @Majiukku! I'm ending this here before I go off on another wall of text.
@fer1323
It seems he is in the care of Captain Vropda, presumably within the waiting room just as well. I would wait to hear from @Gordian Nought just to be sure though.
Welcome to the guild, @Breadcrumbs! I'm sure you will find more than enough fantasy roleplays to satisfy yourself!
