And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

I guess I gotta take a turn soon-ish with everyone else already having posted. Lucky me to have enough time tomorrow to... uhhhmmm... begin working on and finish the post. Yup, I have not been procrastinating at all. But lemme tell you that drinking song I made lyrics for is going to be a hit at student parties! At least I hope so.
Oh they are? I kinda thought we might've need to intice them more. I guess I want to put the fear into this guy so bad, that he doesn't really do a good job at trying to "just" tell us what we want to hear but actually spills all the beans. I doubt this guy would know much, but everything about the cultist we want to know, like where they're heading, if there are any more smaller groups in the forest, how he joined them in the first place, who their leader/boss is, and so forth.

I won't comment on what he knows, but I know that when a member of a presumably fanatic cult is the first one to offer a ceasefire to talk, they might be actually willing to talk. I mean sure, you can roll for intimidation if you really want to, but they are already massively outnumbered, have a bear growling in their face and have just seen their presumed friend(s) slaughtered. What more do you have to offer?
Cool, so with Gordian's permission to use Torus to help with the intimidate check, can I roll with advantage @Hekazu? Just for the intimidate.

What are you aiming to achieve by intimidating them further? They seem fairly compliant to me.
Permission to push the bandit down and have Orchid point his sword at him menacingly?

Contested STR(Athletics) against their DEX(Acrobatics) roll of 7.

If this move goes through, I will reserve a spot for a post from me after yours.
This is an awkward situation, I've got to say. Since it is unlikely for Torus to have any long range things anyhow, I say we can default their turn to standing there all intimidating like. The man is going to begin talking pretty much no sooner than your weapons are either down or explicitly threatening his throat, so if you are going hunting after the rest, you should go on ahead @Lucius Cypher@The Harbinger of Ferocity@Norschtalen.

Sorry @Gordian Nought, but the radio silence has been too long. Your turn has been defaulted.
I think Lord Vensor might try striking up a conversation about Raelynn's (@Stormflyx) attire and/or well kept skin. She doesn't really look like someone from adventuring life you know? With Skall (@Kassarock) I think the warrior is more likely to note Vensor's cloak than it would be for the Lord to remember him from the war. This all depends on how soon posts are coming out though, since I'll need to adapt to any that sneak in before mine.
The General shook his head at Ceraun's remarks, spreading his arms as if to show he couldn't help it. "It is not feasible to build ship interiors out of quad-plating. You are aware they used an improvised weapon, yes? The problem is not security in things that should be secured, it's in the fact that we cannot, let me stress that, cannot spend so much resources on transportation vessels as to make them completely idiot and/or psychopath proof. What we can consider now is not what to do with our ships, but what to do with Zelthis. To keep him in your control, so to say", he argued. While being able to make any- and everything safe from manipulation would be ideal, the Fleet could not burn that many resources for it. They needed more in quantity, everything could not go to quality.

Next thing he did was look around the room, trying to find the person whose insight in this matter might be the greatest: The one that purged the threat in the first place. To his surprise, he couldn't see his sister anywhere nearby. "Hm, tell me, have you seen Captain Vropda lately, any one of you? They should have the most detailed knowledge of this... And yet I know one thing I can already blame: The guards had failed in doing their work. Had they followed their orders, we'd not be here now."

With Vropda missing, he pointed his metallic arms towards the opposing walls of the room and requested input from the rest: "But please, don't leave me in the dark about your opinions. I'm sure there is something you can say? Duke Virne will want to hear it anyway, best rehearse it now." His artificial face betrayed his feelings about this investigation, with a telltale wince appearing as he mentioned Duke Virne. The man was strict and thorough, great qualities when you were not under suspicion yourself. Thoroughly unpleasant when you were.

Yeah, could just write solo posts and incorporate the discussion into those too, should work. I'm fine with whatever people see as the correct option for them.
Hm, those points are fair. Maybe we could arrange a three man collab, no? But let's give time for the others to chime in about their preferences too, lest we force them to group up in a way they'd rather not.

And when it comes to not calling him Lord, that may pass. But call him Cyrus and you've made him mad. He makes that clear when he introduces himself to people.
I had thought Lord Vensor and Raelynn would have found some common ground with how they both come from wealthy background, though Vensor is currently rather far from that. But I don't think he'd mix into your conversation with Skall particularly well, so my first post might well be a solo endeavour. A grumpy old man by thethe fireside, what's not to like?
