Logan Rivers 2017

Logan walked through the halls of Edenridge High once again. Waves of bittersweet nostalgia washed over him and his heart raced as he neared the classroom where it all began and the plaque where Ty was memorialized. His fingers felt along one wall, it was now perfectly smooth but he still remembered exactly where the bullet holes had been just ten years ago. Since that day, he’d experienced more than his share of violence but nothing had given the visceral horror of what happened here. The school had bad energy for him, he knew it had to be a psychosomatic thing but the hair on the back of his neck had been on end since he set foot in here.

“Are you looking for the memorial service? I’m afraid you’re a little late.” Said a woman’s voice. Logan jumped slightly at the sudden intrusion to his quiet reflection.

“No ma’am. I’m afraid what I was looking for isn’t really here.” Logan said. “But guess I’m here to pay my respects.” He didn’t recognize the woman from his time at Edenridge High and she looked a bit too young to have been a teacher here back then.

“Well if you need any helping getting around you feel free to let someone know.” The woman said cheerily before continuing down the hall. Logan only nodded and he continued walking through the school, until he made his way to the memorial garden and the tree, where the names of too many victims were carved. He recognized most of the names, kids he’d seen in the halls or at parties, guys he’d played sports with for a short amount of time, and a few he’d even considered good friends. Charlie’s name was rightfully absent, while his friend deserved to be remembered this wasn’t the place for that. He hung his head and allowed a moment of silence to remember those victims, Logan didn’t believe in higher powers or an afterlife but still felt it was right to remember those who have died and to honor what they had brought to the world.

Then he left, he really had no interest in listening to Mr. Payne’s speech or being surrounded by former classmates, many who he assumed would resent him for having once been best friends with the Edenridge shooter. He had wanted to walk through the school once more, just to see the memorials and to see if that would give him any sense of closure. It hadn’t but at least he’d given it a try, he doubted the school would be open to the public again anytime soon so at least he’d given it a chance. He took a quick glance at his watch, his shift at the bar was due to start soon and he started to head out.

Logan walked down the halls of Edenridge with his arm around Amy Sinclair. Amy was one of those cheerleader types and Logan was well aware of the fact that she was using him to make her parents angry, and Logan’s main interest in her was to parade her around on his arm anywhere that Kait might see them. He’d heard from some other kid that Kait had tried to hook up with Decky during a school trip and that drove Logan crazy. Logan’s ‘thing’ with Kait was complicated, he wouldn’t exactly call it a relationship and certainly wouldn’t refer to her as his girlfriend but they certainly had something. Whatever their thing was it was currently off although Logan couldn’t remember why or whose fault it was this time but if he wasn’t mad at her before hearing that she tried to hook up with Decky had bothered him. Logan figured if he had to feel all jealous and crazy then only logical move for him was to try and make her feel the same.

The first thing Logan noticed was Roddy headbutting Derek O’Leary right in his smug face. “Fuck yeah, way to go Roddy! Kick his ass.” He said throwing a celebratory fist into the air as he cheered the kid on. There was nothing he loved more than a good fight and watching an underdog finally getting a win. He then noticed Decky talking to an upset looking Kait. Logan immediately pulled away from the girl he was with and headed straight for Decky and gave the guy a solid shove away from Kait. In addition to hearing about the attempted hook up between, he’d heard that Decky had pulled a knife on her. Whether they were currently hooking up or not Kait was still his friend and he didn’t care for anyone messing with his friends.

“Hey, Decky, is going around threatening women with a knife not enough for you? Now you’re harassing them in the halls. How ‘bout you try that shit with a man, see what happens.” Logan said in cold and threatening tone.

Bio: Casey, like his parents before him, was born and raised in Washington and the furthest from town he's ever been was a couple trips to Kansas City. His parents got divorced when he was five and after that he lived with his dad, which was fine with him as his dad was the man and his mom just never got it together, after the divorce his mom just sort of disappeared. His dad was a computer programmer and total scifi and comic geek; passions he shared with his son, as well as outdoor skills and a love of things like camping and fishing. Casey loved watching movies and hanging out with his dad, learning about computers, playing video games and overall, he had a happy childhood. He was always kind of a weird kid, never anywhere close to being one of the “cool” kids but he always had a couple good friends and he was fine with that. His father made enough money to get by but they always lived in a small house on the rougher side of town.

In elementary school Casey was a chubby kid and he got picked on a lot. The summer before middle school, after having watched all the Rocky and Karate Kid movies with his dad, he decided he wanted to learn how to defend himself. He started taking boxing classes, and kick boxing later on as well, and eventual he got into shape and began fighting back. After that kids stopped picking on him as much, at least to his face. He did well enough in school, still had a few close friends, and spent a lot of time on the weird side of the internet. Watching scifi and horror movies with his dad had cultivated a strong interest in the otherworldly and paranormal. He’d spend hours online and eventually in the dark web reading about the occult, the covered-up existence of demons, alien encounters, and any conspiracy theory that sounded even remotely plausible. Truth be told though, he never really believed in vampires, werewolves, and demons. Now, aliens and government conspiracies sure, but magic and monsters just seemed a bit out there even for him.

That is until his freshmen year when his father died. The official story was a ruled an animal attack but when Casey hacked into the coroner’s system and read the files, he learned otherwise. His father had been found in the woods, completely exsanguinated, and the only marks on the body were two small holes on the side of his neck. He couldn’t stop thinking about vampires, he delved even deeper into the recesses of the dark web looking for any information he could find about vampires. He spent a lot of time at the Magic Cauldron trying to find books on them and spending what money he had from his summer job on books, holy water, stakes, and even a sword. Every chance he got he was telling people his father was killed by a vampire, that there were real monsters in their town but no one wanted to listen. He became more of outsider at school, and most people thought he was crazy. His aunt and uncle, who he ended up living with after his dad’s death, briefly had him sent to an institution, thinking his father’s death had caused him to have a mental breakdown. There he learned to stop talking about it and when he got out he kept his knowledge to himself.

Shortly after that he went out hunting on his own. It was easy for him to sneak out, his aunt and uncle could really care less about him, so long as he wasn’t making them look bad. He wandered all around Washington armed with some holy water and a stake and it wasn’t too long before he found what he was looking for. A vampire attacked him, beat him up pretty bad, and the thing bit him too. Casey smashed a bottle of holy water over the vampire’s head, which luckily worked just like the message boards had said, and finally managed to take the upper hand in the fight. The staking part was harder than he’d thought but he managed and the thing ‘poofed’ into dust. Since then he’s managed to find a few others hunt with.

Life with his aunt and uncle has been anything but easy. His uncle is both a loser and a drunk, and usually a mean one, and his aunt is more concerned with pills than whatever Casey’s up to, they basically took him in because it means extra money from the government. When he lived with his dad he only ever had summer jobs just to earn a little extra spending money but after he died and then after the whole stint in looney bin, he managed to pester the owner of The Magic Cauldron into giving him a job there, cleaning and helping customers a few days a week either after school or on the weekends. He’s had a couple altercations with his uncle before the drunk learned that Casey wasn’t going to take it and so he mostly leaves him alone. Casey spends as little time with them, in their small trailer, as possible, camping out in the woods when the weather permits, staying at the mall or coffee shop until they close, and staying with friends on occasion. He loves camping out in the woods, having time alone and practicing swordsmanship and with the small crossbow he bought, only downside is there’s no wifi in the woods or he’d move there permanently. Casey doesn’t like to bring up the bad parts about his life in front of others and if he does it’s only in a joking manner. Humor has been his main coping mechanism and he’d rather make those around him laugh than have them feel sorry for him. He also hates vampires, demons, werewolves, and any other non-human thing out there with a strong passion. Witches however, as long as they’re white hats of course, are fine by him and would probably make great allies.

Would you, please? I imagine that the two would have been broken up before the knife incident, so probably around episode 4 or 5. So, since Keisha was with Charlie and he and Logan were best buds, how would Logan have felt about Keisha?

I think we are on the same page when it comes to Charlie's traits. Normal, cool guy with a taste for trouble. That would be why she and everyone that knew Charlie were so surprised when they realized that he was the shooter.

Yeah, I mean it feels like the sort of event that would happen near the the end of a season. As for Logan's opinion on Keisha, she made Charlie happy when they were together and seemed to be a positive influence on him. Logan liked her, he liked that his friend was happy, but also teased him some, in a friendly way, for falling for a girl so quickly. Before he'd liked Ty at first but thought the guy went way overboard when he beat Charlie up and made sure he'd stay away from Keisha. He understood the guy was protective of his sister but Logan figured she could do a lot worse than Charlie. As for Charlie I was thinking he probably had some kind diagnosed mental illness, Bipolar or Manic Depression but just sort of slipped through the cracks.

For a little while, Logan partook in some of the gang violence with Charlie, which would have meant that he was somewhat cool with/neutral towards Ty; or he could've disliked him. Either way, they probably knew each other. Since this was during the second season, Keisha had started hanging around Ty's friends more often. It all depends on when the incident with Charlie pulling a knife on a guy happened and ending their friendship, but if this all happened during or after Charlie's relationship with Keisha, maybe there's a chance that she would have gotten to know Logan as well?

If this was the case, maybe Keisha & Logan's reactions to seeing each other for the first time in ten years could be something to write about, sort of like Keisha and Kaitlin's encounter? Just something to think about.

Well if it works for you Id put the knife incident towards the end of season two. I'd say Logan and Ty definitely knew each other, and Logan liked him well enough but wasn't so fond of Ty after he broke up Keisha and Charlie. When during the show would their break up have been. Also what sort of traits did you have in mind for Charlie just so we can be on the same page there. Since they hang out with the same people the would've known each other pretty well.

Idea for "The People vs Logan Rivers"

After getting stoned with Charlie just before a big football game Logan uses his friends eye drops to help with his bloodshot eyes. Too bad those weren't eye drops and Logan ends up taking a long strange trip during the big game against the rival team. He ends up banned from school sports and clubs, taking mandatory 'why drugs are bad' Saturday classes, and a suspension. Most of school turned against him and most of his new jock friends ostracized him, leaving him with Charlie and his gang as his main social group. A part of him wondered if Charlie had done it on purpose or if he really had handed him the wrong bottle accidentally. Logan chose to believe it was the later and afterwards spent more and more time with his old friends.

Not never happened, but at a certain point the timeline was "corrected" by a Supreme Being; no Buffy, no Gang, no Hellmouth under Sunnydale. The storyline to this game deals directly with the consequences of that act by that Supreme Being. Buffy, Angel, Spike, etc, may be referenced, but more like legends from a lost, last, age than actual people from an actual fixed point in history.
