Current Just ran a stale yellow. Nobody on this website is doing it like me, sticking it to the man like me, blazing a trail against tyranny like me. the only thing revolutionary about you is your rhetoric

Takeru Segawa is the type of man they made myths out of. Intensely privileged to be able to say I watched him burn so bright as he did before going out with a win. I’ll miss you, hero.

Luke Schwarz -- Joyride

Black hair flowing in the breeze.

The wind rushing against his face.

The supremely content grin cast upon his visage.

15 minutes and 200 lien later, Luke Schwarz had obtained perhaps the finest bike he'd ever known. Metallic red paint, a sturdy suspension, the smoothest tires to ever grace the road or sidewalk...

Perfect. Absolutely perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better vehicle if I was the richest man on earth!

...

Well, maybe a car.

But that's pushing it.

Stopping at a crosswalk, he managed to remove himself from his adoration of his sweet new ride, the Road Racer Supreme, and plan his next move.

That is, attempt to plan.

It was too early for dinner, so that was out. What was the next thing on the list, again? He didn't have a real need to shop for anything else, considering he'd brought all his school supplies and such in when he first transferred, right before the mission...

A weaponry shop caught his eye. He didn't need any upgrades yet as far as he knew, but...

A little browsing couldn't hurt.

Crossing the street with speed and smoothness unmatched by any lesser bike, he found a public rack nearby, activated the SmartLock, and, after a few moments of trepidation and suspicious glances at those around him, headed inside.

Luke Schwarz--Landfall

Well, that was pretty pleasant.

Now then!

First things first: Find a bike place! Setting off with just as much gusto as any of the other departees, arguably more, he set off down the first street he saw, mentally going through a checklist in his head about what requirements he had in his choosing of his latest and greatest trusty steed.

Preferably sturdy. Maybe a Basket in the front. The ability to ride double if necessary.

Red?

Red.

That one was a no-brainer.

Did he want one of those foldable ones? The balance between portability and durability was a delicate one, and considering his priorities, tendencies, and general riding style...

Better to not risk something collapsing randomly on him.

To his luck, just at the corner a bike rack greeted his lively gray eyes, accompanied by a small, almost hole-in-the-wall studio.

A specialist! An artisan! A strong use of his newly acquired lien!

Lady luck is smiling upon me today!

He entered the store with boundless enthusiasm.
Not everyone is a very slightly better-disguised than usual ripoff of a veteran "talking heads" show protag like Lucas "The Man Who Survived Gratia Mindaro" Schwarz

They're fiiiiiine
Luke Schwarz-- Parting Words

"I can relate a bit to that. Although, I'm not in an entirely new kingdom..." he mused as they stepped off of the airship and onto the pavement below, into a sea of dispersing students.

He honestly had a hard time imagining the sheer scale of the distance between here and her home. For all his attempted worldliness, at the end of the day he'd never really strayed too far from home. It honestly was a bit of an intimidating concept, being so far away from what you knew.

In that case, then, Gratia Mindaro was admirably strong to be able to do it so casually. Her adjustment period must have been remarkably short.

I guess I shouldn't be so surprised, considering this is Beacon Academy...

So many strong people here, of all types.

Body.
Mind.
Spirit.

He supposed that was what it took to hold hope of becoming a Hunter or Huntress. It would only make sense that he'd find himself surrounded by these types of people.

Turning to Gratia, he threw her a friendly smile and a short wave.

"Well, I hope you end up liking it here. See you around, Gratia Mindaro."
Or you know, you git gud.
It's a bit different from Souls but you'll still have fun
