Current Just ran a stale yellow. Nobody on this website is doing it like me, sticking it to the man like me, blazing a trail against tyranny like me. the only thing revolutionary about you is your rhetoric

Takeru Segawa is the type of man they made myths out of. Intensely privileged to be able to say I watched him burn so bright as he did before going out with a win. I’ll miss you, hero.

a frayed thread on the colorful tapestry of our existence, begging to be yanked until the whole thing unravels, a suggestive, inviting golden glow around the idea of leaking my buddy's DMs to his wife

Jonas Highwind and Tara Niklos

Location: Lots of 'em.
Interacting with: Eachother, Momma Highwind, an Automobile

To her credit, Tara's anger was not immediately evident from her driving. Her SUV pulled up in the driveway calmly, her face seeming to be actually a little calm...

HONKKKKKKK.

There went that illusion. Tara practically kicked open her door, hopping out of the car and turning to her brother. "Stuff goes in the back. Don't scratch anything, or I'll scratch you." Hopefully... He wouldn't notice how many marks she'd made.

"You better listen to her, honey. I want you coming home in one piece." came the entirely unpreturbed chirp from the front lawn, eliciting an exagerrated roll of the eyes from Jonas as he easily tetris'd his luggage into the back of the SUV, wryly grinning at the amount of scratched already there, but smart enough to not mention them.

"Not gonna stand up for me, Mom?"

"I'm already on my feet this early, what more do you want?" she snarked.

He spread his arms. "Hug?"

"Have a good year, sweetie," she said, obliging him with a tight embrace. "Keep in touch, okay?"

"'Course."

"And Tara, dear?" she called to her son's half-sister. "Look after him for me."

"It ain't my first year any more, mom."

"I mean it, don't let this troublemaker raise hell over there." she continued jokingly, shooting him a mischievous smirk.

Moms.

"Don't worry. If he gets in trouble it'll be with me, not with any snob of an instructor at the academy." She smirked, the spark of the devil in her smiling eyes. She'd watch out for Jonah, alright- nobody else was going to get to beat him before she did. A pause.

"Jonas! We have to go."

"Right. By Mom, love ya!" Jonas waved, turning back towards the car, pulling the passenger side door open.

"You kids drive safe!" she called one last time, as the door closed behind the big guy and he strapped himself in. She always did stick around to see them drive off, huh? Even despite the fact that he knew that she wanted nothing more to do than sleep.

Throwing her a salute through the windshield, he addressed Tara as she got into the driver's seat. "Thanks again, sis."

Tara didn't respond. She just grumbled and threw the car into gear, setting off down the road and toward the academy.

"Look, I'll pay for lunch on the way." he offered as they backed out of the driveway.

"...Fine."

Assembly

"Are these ever gonna be something besides a cure for insomnia?" one asked.
"No." came the curt response of the other.

Both found themselves zoning out with the rest of the student body.

Party

Jonas scanned the place for familiar faces. He'd seen Zaheen and Dal somewhere in the crowd during the assembly, but never managed to get over to them. Dallas texted him about this earlier, so he figured he'd have to be here somehow, but...

To: THE GREAT ZAHEEN

You at the party? Was gonna catch up with you and Dale here

Luke Schwarz -- Inter-team Alliances

The red haired woman, Sangue, had been very deliberate in setting that timer. Very deliberately setting it for what could only be a short amount of time, as class had to be starting in... a couple minutes at the most. And with none of her teammates to wake her up, either, likely assisting Amy with recovery from the blast of sound they'd all endured last period. In essence, it seemed Miss Naga was out here on her lonesome.

That's not good.

Now, it wasn't like he was creepily staring at her or anything, mind you, far from it! It was just more idle observance, as he'd propped his elbow on his desk and swept the room with his eyes. Like overhearing something, but with vision. While he had to admit, she was pretty easy on the eyes, he was far more discreet in his ogling than to brazenly keep his head fixed upon somebody in the middle of class!

Okay, this self-damnation thing really needed to stop. And more importantly, the team he liked the best's lone member in History class (funnily enough the one he knew the least) was in need of back up.

And far be it from me to sit idly by.

Tearing out a whole new sheet of paper and contemplating his need to invest in loose-leaf, he began to crumple it into a tight ball. Normally, he'd just settle for just a corner, but as inclined to sleep as the redhead seemed to be, he figured he'd need all the mass he'd get.

Right. Ammunition Loaded--

He held the paper ball between his thumb and index finger, other hand placed behind it.

--Safety off--

Said other hand buried the tip of his index finger into the pad of the thumb.

--Target to ten o'clock, angle up 15 degrees--

He aimed his projectile carefully...

--FIRING FOR EFFECT!--

And flicked the crumpled up mass of paper straight for her head.
Only two hours?

Pfah, that's nothing

And yo, viet, there's nothing wrong with tried-and-true if you think you can pull it off. Trust me. Some of the most fun I've had has come from playing blatant, unrepentant ripoffs of certain characters.
