Dragon Ball ~ The 13th Angel

Once there were eighteen universes, now there are only twelve. When a Universe is destroyed the resident Angel becomes inactive, waiting for a time when a new universe is formed and a new God of Destruction can be chosen. Some were wiped out for being boring, some were made lifeless by their own inhabitants, but one was tricked into destruction through foul play.

This was Universe thirteen.

Normally this would not mean anything but as fate would have it, scientists from the demon realm opened a portal to the thirteenth universe and retrieved the inactive body of the resident angel. Taking the angel back into the demon realm they proceeded to try and taint the angel with dark energy. Naturally resistant to such energies, it took a long time but they were finally able to at least partially taint the angel, the results can be seen in the halo, which appears to have red 'cracks' around the ring.

Next was to figure out how to wake up the angel. Using technology and magic, the demons managed to create a false God of Destruction reading on one of their kin, triggering the awakening of the angel as it is their job to guide their chosen God of Destruction. The angel awoke and quickly figured out what was going on, but refused to help the demons. Amused by their attempts however, the angel decided to stick around the demon realm and observe what was going on.

Then the day came when a pirated version of God Tube showed the Universe elimination tournament. Watching the universes vanish one by one brought back memories of the universe the angel had been in charge of. The dark taint effected the angel's emotions as they watched what happened. Then all the destroyed Universes were brought back with a single wish, but of course not their universe.

There was an interesting revelation though, it was possible for mortals, even without being Gods of Destruction, to fight against the Gods. This made the angel thing for a moment and then made a decision.

"As an angel it is not proper for me to interfere myself, but I can help train some warriors to help your cause; however, before I hand them over there is one thing I insist they do first. That is I want them to kill a certain God of Destruction for their hand in the destruction of Universe thirteen..."

Your Role

You are a warrior from one of the Universes who has been deemed to have the potential to one day rival that of a God of Destruction. The selection was done in secret and the targets were made sure to be those who do not have any relationships with current Gods, so as not to arouse suspicion. Unfortunately this does mean fighters have yet to really tap into their power, as otherwise they might have already been on the god's radar. Still, the potential is there, with the right cultivation and motivation, to far surpass their limits and become legends.

With the angel's power, the demons have constructed an inter-dimensional vessel to allow easy access into each Universe. However the angel refuses to do anything more than guide the vessel so the demons cannot escape from the Demon Realm without access to the vessel that only the angel can control. The angel is very picky about who can come onboard.

Rules

• Be civil with each other in the OOC thread. To make a good story try to get along with each other.
• When engaged in PVP battles make sure you already have a winner decided, that way you can make the fight epic and exciting, while having fun and not feeling like you need to 'write' yourself as the better fighter in order to win.
• Fight rules: Minion class you can use however you want, they are fodder. When fighting higher powers the general rule is no auto-hitting.
• To make fights more interesting though on every third fighting post you may do a Power Play. This Power Play is the opportunity for your character to show off what they got and for that post the auto-hit rule goes out the window. This gives your character an opportunity to show off, do some serious damage and generally feel awesome. Flashy combos, a strong hit, whatever comes to mind; however, you still have to consider the opponent you are facing as even if you manage to get a good attack in it still might not do all that much.
• Certain characters will be immune to the Power Play rule however when the story calls for it, I'll make sure you know when you cannot do this. Sometimes enemies will also be able to do a Power Play against your character so be warned.
• The Angel of course can Power Play at any time considering how much stronger they are than anyone else in the role play except other angels of course. General rule is the stronger an enemy is the greater a chance there is they may Power Play against you.

Dashade is usually a calm, polite and collected individual. Carrying himself as an honorable fighter who tries not to do anything without a good reason (Even if sometimes he does completely go against this), as he wishes to restore the name of his clan away from it's foolish roots, he becomes panicked whenever he feels embarrassed. He'll try to use any word that sounds smart, even if he doesn't know what it means, to look better. In a way, he has a bit of an inferiority complex. Overall he values the attribute of loyalty, loyalty to his cause, his people and his blood. He has seen evils, he has committed deeds that would make him question everything, but when you live under propaganda, you tend to find justifications an easy aspect collect.

Icicle is an oddball in light of his people’s reputations, growing up much like any with a perceived noble blood backing them would grow, as an egotistical brat. You're led to believe that every other species exists below your own and you take it in stride and if you're lucky you'll be able to keep with this notion, otherwise it will end up knocking you off your pedestal and into the mud, lower than you ever thought. As a young boy, Icicle's ego and loose tongue brought him to his knees before his family, a word spoken out of turn left him hospitalized and shamed. Whatever family he had were family no more. He was disowned, stripped of his name and sent off to serve in the military where at least a disappointment like him could make a good meat shield.

The greater years of his life, where at his lowest point he was given the shameful name 'Dashade', were spent under the boot heel of his superiors. At first, it was his personal hell, but soon it grew on him. He had been so lost before, so abandoned by purpose, yet rising through the ranks, fight side-by-side with other grunts, he found value in discipline, companionship, loyalty and blind, blind devotion. Icicle was a noble mistake, but Dashade was a loyal soldier. His duty was his mistress and his superiors were his Gods, who he worshiped through his undying loyalty. He would make up for his past failures by pledging his soul to his people.

Too bad for him that a series of mistakes lead to him once more being considered a traitor, cut down by those he once stood beside for his mistake and left for dead. It was only thanks to the timely arrival of an Angel, one who saw potential in him, that he wasn't slumming it in the other world. Such an act can bring birth to some usefuly blind loyalty.

Dashade very much likes to be adaptable for the situation, hoping to balance out his skill set to make good use of his meele capabilities, setting opponents up for a devistating ki blast using his tail and feet to throw, trip and disorientate his opponents.

Milky Cannon: Stole- Inspired by a fighter very much like Universe 7's Ginyu, this is a Ki Blast that is charged up and detonated at the users will, allowing Dashade to either use it as a quick offensive get away, or a hidden attack to catch his opponent from behind. No soldier should leave base without a few energy mines.

Burning Blood: Channeling his Ki around him, Dashade is able to coat him self in his Ki for a limited time, where he is able to charge into his opponent and attempt to slam into them as much as possible before he runs dry.

Cerulean Cannon: A risky, but powerful attack that requires time to charge. By channeling electricity through one's own body, Dashade can transfer the currents into energy to explode out of one hand, letting loose a devastating blast that will leave the user quite drained. The risk of manipulating such things in your body is high, if done wrong or simply using too much power, the move can end up backfiring on the user and even incapacitating them for a time. When Dashade first used this move he ended up with a dead arm for over a week.

A good question for sure. At the start most enemies will probably be around Ginyu-Force level up to around Final Form Freiza. They will be powerful, some with very destructive potential, but the angel will try their best to only let them fight enemies they have a chance against. Of course not all enemies will follow 'normal' procedures, some will be magicians, others might have strange techniques that make them uniquely dangerous though their power might be below your character's.

Well there is certainly enough interest at least, maybe too much; unfortunately from previous failures of mine I believe my GM limit is 4 people at best so not everyone can join.

I'm pretty tired right now after a long day so will take some time for me to get things together. At the very least I can put up the character sheet for now so you can start designing characters.

Well now that super is done I had an idea that I thought would be fun. Here is the story idea.

New warriors will be chosen by the 13th angel, raised up in order to defeat a God of Destruction. Of course they will have to go through many trials before they are ready for that. Also what machinations will the demons come up with? Find out in the upcoming episodes of Dragon Ball ~ The 13th Angel.

Well what do people think of the premise? The idea is you would play as the warriors with the potential to fight against a God of Destruction. The fastest way to improve is to fight strong foes and unique enemies so expect quite a bit of that.

First just want to see interest to see if I should go with the idea or not.

So the question is, how do you feel about the verdict and do you think this sets a dangerous precedent that can easily be abused?

Did he deserve the verdict? How worried are you about what this means for free speech? What thinkest thou o debaters of politics? How much does the context of the video[as a way to annoying his girlfriend] affect the actual video itself? Lots of stuff to potentially discuss here.

@Penny Thank God for the electoral college! Without the good men and women voting against the nation's interests, we'd be in some kind of a...a...DEMOCRACY!

Thank God for the electoral college, without it we really would be a closer to a true democracy which is basically the same thing as mob rule. Real democracies are always a bad idea and very quickly fall to ruin since all minority groups quickly get trampled underfoot by the majority. Gays would never have gotten the rights they do have in a democracy for example.

Electoral college is messy, but it is there to ensure mod rule is not the way to decide things. Also voting really needs to be handled better to make sure fraud is at an absolute minimum. Too many examples of questionable voting to say there isn't a serious case of election fraud and illegal votes being done in quite a few states.

Right, because the UK is all sunshine and rainbows where no one is shut down just because they have an unpopular opinion. So yes the world is a cruel place and I will criticize your country as much as I want, thank you very much, the same way you criticize my country and various people and groups.

You have a very strange habit of trying to put the labels you want to give on everyone else. I say I probably share a lot of ideas in common with libertarians, you say that makes me a libertarian. You claim I'm a race realist just because I didn't bother to try and refute you, well how can you claim I'm something if I say nothing about it? All you're doing is slapping whatever label you find convenient without bothering to get to know the person's positions.

Instead of slapping labels all over the place just discuss the issues at hand with thought and tact.

Anyway I can see this is going nowhere so for now, I think I'll go back to just watching this thread. It's always interesting to see how people react to each other but my time is better spent elsewhere. Anyway, this thread always manages to provide me with plenty of amusement even when I don't contribute to it. XD
