Bio

Hey all, JB here.

I'm a DM for a large number of games here on RPG, as well as a player in several others. Many of the games I run are overly complex, or they involve Dungeons and Dragons (which is also overly complex!).

I work 40+ hours a week, and am the proud father of two tiny terrors named Chibi and Chibette and married to my beautiful Wifey. As such, I am quite busy more often than not. I typically write 2-5 paragraphs per reply and try to maintain an excellent level of grammar. If you noticed me glancing at your profile, I probably was looking to see if you would be a good match for my RPing style. Even if I didn't send a PM to you, feel free to send one back!

I enjoy 1x1 RPs and small groups. I'm fond of medieval, steampunk, and futuristic settings, and I'll jump into romance, adventure, and slice of life RPs fairly quickly, although supernatural (vampires, werewolves, etc) RPs get old for me pretty quickly. If you're looking for an RP partner and I've glanced at your profile, then I'm most likely willing to give it a shot, but decided against PMing you because I'm actually kinda shy. But I'm always looking for a new friend!

Please feel free to say hi at any time!

Subtlety was evidently not this group’s strong suit, as the members of the group began collecting the coupons as if they were hotcakes (although without seeing the store, it’s possible that hotcakes could be on the menu). The kurjian garnered a handful of cross looks from the people she swiped the coupons from, but no one bothered her otherwise.

As the crowds began to thin out, the tiefling made her move, walking seductively in front of the group’s ranger. Although she had only intended to draw the attention of Ceria, the also garnered the attention of nearly every nearby individual who was even slightly interested in female tieflings, including the guards at their posts. One of them in particular seemed to be quite awestruck by her swaying, which made for quite the interesting display when Ulor stepped forward.

The mass of tentacles that arose from behind Ulor was enough to send the majority of the crowd running, including the guard who was just moments before attempting to show his courage and strength to Daisy via a subtly flexed muscle. The captain of the guard that was stationed with the group grabbed the coward by the arm and shouted in his face, “It’s an illusion, you dumbass!” before shoving him back towards the group.

The captain then drew his blade and stepped forward to Ulor. “State your business here. Threats against the General’s handpicked guards are not taken lightly in this city!” Another shorter blade was drawn and he glared at the group behind Ulor as his guard drew up behind him, a couple of them waving sheepishly at Daisy.
@GarlandDaHero My character is not in the drama club, but she is currently in the hallways walking that direction. She is normally in chorus, which I would assume has their practice at least somewhere near the drama club (being fine arts and all), so they probably have seen each other fairly frequently. In addition, they are both third years, so it's possible (maybe likely) that they are in the same class.
@GarlandDaHero Awesome~ My PC is currently being "harrassed" by a fellow drama club member (by that I mean in the midst of an innocent conversation). Just in case someone feels like doing a little flirting~
@GarlandDaHero What club would your PC be in? I'm... asking for a friend.

Who may or may not be interested in getting into the same club.

And is possibly a shrine maiden.

(Drama would make things tidy, just sayin)
Kimiko Maita

@Crimmy@Savo

The others continued to talk, as if they were trying their hardest to interrupt Kimiko's solitude. Evidently, figuring out this refrain would have to wait. She turned back towards Alex as he butchered her very simple name. "Mai-TA," she corrected, emphasizing the second syllable. "Maita Kimiko, Class 3-B, if you were unaware. Alexander sounds like a rather odd surname, but I suppose I do not know what to expect from Western names."

Ignoring the melodramatic display of pain that her unintentional companion displayed, she turned her attention back to her classmate. "Might I help you with something, Sasaki-san?" she replied sweetly with a smile. It was an odd change of tone for her, since she normally spoke in an abrupt and brusque manner. The very few who knew her well knew that the sweet tone was a warning sign, Kimiko's last attempt to bury her annoyances. Those who knew her less well would think it was a somewhat professional face she put on for her shrine customers. In either case, the intent was fairly clear: get to the point.

At that point you are just determining which community of writers you'd rather write with and are appealing to with your idea. Nothing wrong with that.

Agree. There was a lot of discussion about removing those lines. I don't think that's the answer. Yes, doing so would make it less obvious that certain groups are slowing. But it would also dump all the fish into the same tank, so to speak, and I don't think we should mix the minnows with the sharks. Chaos would ensue.
@catchamber can't the guy have a vacation? I mean, how much are you paying for this site? As far as I can tell, it's still free.
Sorry all, was out all day today. I'll get something going tomorrow.
To @SleepingSilence's point, there is such a thing as purple prose, where a lot gets written and nothing accomplished. That can be as annoying to read as rapid fire.

Free isn't my cup of tea either, but there's no reason to insult those who enjoy it. Same for Advanced: not all the people there are elitist snobs.

I think one issue with splitting the sections into these three categories is that many RPs end up somewhere between the delineation. I have seen several "high-casual" RPs. These typically are the same as Advanced, just more accessible (I'm sure people would disagree). My point is that there is a huge difference betwern rapid fire posting and 10 paragraphs per post, and most of that gets tossed into Casual.
