Bio

Hey all, JB here.

I'm a DM for a large number of games here on RPG, as well as a player in several others. Many of the games I run are overly complex, or they involve Dungeons and Dragons (which is also overly complex!).

I work 40+ hours a week, and am the proud father of two tiny terrors named Chibi and Chibette and married to my beautiful Wifey. As such, I am quite busy more often than not. I typically write 2-5 paragraphs per reply and try to maintain an excellent level of grammar. If you noticed me glancing at your profile, I probably was looking to see if you would be a good match for my RPing style. Even if I didn't send a PM to you, feel free to send one back!

I enjoy 1x1 RPs and small groups. I'm fond of medieval, steampunk, and futuristic settings, and I'll jump into romance, adventure, and slice of life RPs fairly quickly, although supernatural (vampires, werewolves, etc) RPs get old for me pretty quickly. If you're looking for an RP partner and I've glanced at your profile, then I'm most likely willing to give it a shot, but decided against PMing you because I'm actually kinda shy. But I'm always looking for a new friend!

Please feel free to say hi at any time!

What am I even doing here?

Brandon had asked himself that question a dozen times on the drive over. The mansion was in an area that Brandon had never really driven to, nor did he have any idea how people could live in houses as large as the ones in this area. Brandon's own home was barely larger than a two-story trailer, and it seemed more than adequate for the six people who lived there, especially now that the other three had either moved out or to college. These last two years were the first time Brandon had ever experienced having a bathroom to himself, and now he was going to spend a summer in an estate that likely held more bathrooms than Brandon had visited in his entire life.

The drive had lasted about a half hour with Brandon's knuckles turning white with trepidation before he was even halfway there. His navy duffel had been carefully packed with everything he could conceivably need, including his laptop and some reading material. He hoped that the stay would be interesting enough that the books would remain unread, but at the very least, his copy of The Lord of the Rings in Spanish would keep him interested if he were ignored by the group. He had no idea how many people would show up or what they were planning, and the unknown both excited and terrified him. His parents had essentially given him a blank check to act as he saw fit for the entire summer, and for the first time, he was alone.

Brandon's first thought was he should get a gift for Elizabeth for inviting them. As he drove through town, a Farmer's Market caught his eye, and he purchased a bundle of a dozen roses, complete with baby's breath and other greenery that he didn't recognize. The flowers seemed fairly expensive to him, but he was unaccustomed to purchasing gifts, especially ones for girls. The florist gave him a wink as he paid with his debit card, and Brandon blushed in response. It might have looked as if he were buying flowers for a girlfriend, if he were only so lucky.

The final leg of the journey brought him to the mansion, and his jaw dropped as he saw the flowers in full bloom in the garden around him. Perhaps his gift was a bit poorly planned out. He didn't even know where he should park his car, as the beat-up blue Focus definitely did not match the decor of its new surroundings. He stopped in front of the main door and sat in the car, trying to calm his nerves for a few moments. Okay. I can do this. These are my friends, after all.

Brandon stepped out of the car before collecting his bag and the new gift, then approached the front door. He looked around at the yard, still in complete awe about the sheer size of the area. He stood there for a couple of minutes, simply taking in his surroundings without knocking on the door, partially out of nervousness, but mostly out of wonder.
The journey to the captain's office was mostly quiet, the two humans silently determined and Kitt not adding much to the conversation. The pair worked together mostly silently and seamlessly, almost knowing what the other needed before asking. Once they arrived, Ryobi already had his pistol drawn, ready for another grisly scene like what he had experienced before. At Kitt's scan, Ryobi sighed. "I won't say I made the wrong choice, cause otherwise I might have found you dead instead, but dammit."

He lowered his gun, although he wasn't about to holster it yet. "If they're gone or incapacitated, that puts you in charge of this station, Jan," he said quietly. They both knew it already, but Ryobi needed to say it aloud to make it feel real. "You're gonna have a hell of a time with that paperwork now." With that said, Ryobi stepped forward around the corner, his main intention to find the source of the mechanical sound, and his secondary intention to locate the Captain. Ryobi hadn't known Kitt to be wrong before, but there was a first time for anything.

To round off the party better, I decided to make a Swashbuckler, instead. I plan to take Magic Initiate once he is level 4, and as such, he'll have a pet parrot a la "Find Familiar." Other than that, he'll serve as our skill monkey, slippery damage dealer, and off-tank. Let the pirate memes begin

And now, I introduce to you all... Cesar Mariano Windcrest Bolivar! Half Elf, half Spaniard Human, full swagger! All I need to work on is his background, and he'll possibly be good to go!

If anyone's interested in being an acquaintence, friend, rival, or ex-lover of his, let me know. He has traveled far and wide and has made quite a few friends and enemies with his, heh, colorful personality.

Might be possible that Katia hitched a ride with him at some point. Probably not more than acquaintances though. Maybe they ran a deal together or something for her payment?
Kimiko Maita

@Crimmy@Savo@GarlandDaHero

Kimiko had mentioned a few times to Suzune once upon a time that she did not deserve the title "sama" when addressed, but after the other girl insisted on maintaining the honorific, the shrine maiden let it slide. It certainly was not due to the small boost to her ego she received when Suzune called her Maita-sama, but rather because of all the vices Suzune displayed, this was the one that chafed the least against Kimiko's standards. And also, she enjoyed the ego boost.

"Good morning, Okazaki-san," Kimiko had said before he introduced himself. Despite having never formally been introduced to the drama club's vice president, Kimiko made it her business to know the names of her fellow third years, especially the ones who held any sort of important position. She was about to offer a handshake herself, but Frosty-san stepped forward instead. She was about to respond that she held no current long-term intentions regarding the drama club and that she was simply interested in seeing what they were planning when it happened.

Whatever "it" was, Kimiko immediately felt sick to her stomach upon seeing the crimson splatters on the wall. "Ikari-san, if this is your idea of a joke, it is not currently being received very well," Kimiko whispered, moving to stand behind her ally. "But if it is, excellent use of lighting... It is very creepy." The worst part about such a display of horrors occurring in a drama club is that one could not even trust the reactions of the club members since feigned reactions was something they trained in. However, Kimiko was almost certain that the place had been populated by at least a few additional people beforehand... She briefly returned to thinking about the news of the morning and the whispers of a supernatural presence. Either this was the best stage production she had been privy to in quite some time, or something otherworldly was going on.
Here is a link to the vision the group received. I'll also link it in the post.
Heh, this RP is almost turning into the Dragon Queen group plus Jeebs. I'm ok with that, though. Y'all seem to have some interesting ideas.

@Gordian Nought I know it's already been answered, but I also have very little free time for voice. My free time is scattered across everywhere, so if we had to do a live session, I would be opting out, sadly.
@JBRam2002 @Savo

I'll most likely get my post up when you folks do, just in case you guys and @Crimmy are wondering.

I was the last one to post in our little group asides from Crimmy. I could post again, but I don't really have anything of substance to say.
As Jan fiddled with the Comms, Ryobi pulled on the backpack, ensuring everything was in its proper place. The lack of a response was disconcerting. "My phone isn't working either, but I thought the radios were on a different system. He's just not answering?" Ryobi inquired before wracking his brain. "I was hoping to gather more intel before approaching the Captain, but you're right. We have little choice, especially if he's in danger."

Ryobi checked his weapon, making sure it was loaded before tucking it into his belt. "Best case scenario, Cap is just busy and he'll call back. Worst... let's not think about worst. Either way, I ain't letting those assholes get away with this, if it's the last thing I do." His face darkened, an expression unlike any Jan was used to seeing from the usually easy-going Ryobi. In all honesty, this was a new sensation for him as well: pure, unadulterated loathing bordering on bloodlust.

"Coming, Pryce?" Ryobi asked, his expression remaining. "This is gonna be something you don't wanna miss."
