Hey all, JB here.
I'm a DM for a large number of games here on RPG, as well as a player in several others. Many of the games I run are overly complex, or they involve Dungeons and Dragons (which is also overly complex!).
I work 40+ hours a week, and am the proud father of two tiny terrors named Chibi and Chibette and married to my beautiful Wifey. As such, I am quite busy more often than not. I typically write 2-5 paragraphs per reply and try to maintain an excellent level of grammar. If you noticed me glancing at your profile, I probably was looking to see if you would be a good match for my RPing style. Even if I didn't send a PM to you, feel free to send one back!
I enjoy 1x1 RPs and small groups. I'm fond of medieval, steampunk, and futuristic settings, and I'll jump into romance, adventure, and slice of life RPs fairly quickly, although supernatural (vampires, werewolves, etc) RPs get old for me pretty quickly. If you're looking for an RP partner and I've glanced at your profile, then I'm most likely willing to give it a shot, but decided against PMing you because I'm actually kinda shy. But I'm always looking for a new friend!
Please feel free to say hi at any time!

@The Mighty Hero With Thieves' Tools, would I be able to roll something to jam the lock so that the gate would not be easily locked behind us once we enter?
You can still roll for stealth if you want. Any guards that might be on the other side will probably be too distracted by Thanath's entrance to notice the stealth characters sneaking by.
Don't worry, I thought it was funny~ I'm somewhat less uptight than my PC is. But hey, at least she's never unarmed; she can always take that pole outta her ass and beat someone with it.
Ada could not deny the logic in the half-elf's statement. Haste could be potentially important in this endeavor, despite the imprudence of charging ahead without a plan. For herself, Ada never acted without some semblance of a plan in mind, and when they arrived, drenched to the bone before the house on a cliffside. The trees on the other side might lend for some cover, but it was hard to tell whether the wall continued much past the treeline. And before them lay a muddy mess.
Their options were limited, not only due to the path before them but by the amount of intel they had on this subject as well. Their leader, obviously as competent as his original statement made him sound, stood sheepishly before the wall. Ada let out an inaudible sigh before stepping forward. "The way I see it, we have two options. We could attempt to unlock the gate, either by scaling the wall or picking the lock, or we could try to make our way around the wall to approach from a different angle. I am not wont to enter by myself, but I could attempt to scale this wall and scout ahead at the very least. Does anyone else have any ideas, preferably quiet ones?"
As she spoke, her eyes darted around at the surrounding landscape, attempting to get some bearing on her location. The area nearby was unfamiliar, and she was wary of the thick mud at the gate. At best, the mud would leave an easy trail and a telltale sign on their boots. At worst, it could hold a trap of some form, or at the very least, make the path as trecherous as the wall she considered scaling. If there was one thing she knew from her years of investigation, one should never underestimate the power of a solid door in one's way.
Ada rolls a 9 on her Nature check, which is an abysmal roll. My assumption is she doesn't gain any useful information.
@The Mighty Hero Just checking to see what exactly you mean by a -2 disadvantage. Normally in 5e, Disadvantage means we roll 2 dice and take the lower. Do you mean we have a -2 penalty to Acrobatics, or are we rolling 2 extra dice, or something else?
Would Ada be able to make a Nature check to learn more about the area?
EDIT: On a quick glance around, it looks like my PC is the only one with Acrobatics proficiency, so if we decide to scale, I'll roll up an Acro. Just making sure I know what to roll. Do you allow taking 10 if we aren't rushed?
@VitaVitaARJust checking before I commit time - are you planning to have the Master and Servant controlled by two separate people, or both by the same individual? If it's the latter, I can draw up a sheet. If it's the former, it looks like you're full already.
At the sound of battle erupting inside the cathedral, Lex took this opportunity to charge through the doorway, his hand outstretched towards the thug before him as his vengeful mark appeared on the enemy's forehead. As he came within striking distance, Lex brought his maul up from behind him arcing it over his head to smash downwards towards the thug, the heavy weight of the weapon crashing down on the enemy's leather armor as if it weren't even there.
>Mechanics: Lex casts Hunter's Mark on the thug, then rolls an 18 to hit, dealing 12 + 2 bludgeoning damage. >Currently Concentrating on Hunter's Mark. 2 / 3 spell slots remaining.
The thug retaliates with a swing of his own from his maul, catching the Paladin under his helmet with the blunt side of the weapon. He then strafes around Lex to stand in the way of those at the door, hoping to corral them away from his Priestess. The sahuagin woman, on the other hand, summoned a trident to appear just behind Lex, and it whacked him on the back of his head as she focused her attention on the archer that slew her acolyte. A magical incantation was muttered, and Ceria began to feel her body seizing up.
>Mechanics: Thug hits Lex for 5 bludgeoning damage. He must make a Constitution Saving throw to maintain Concentration on Hunter's Mark. The Priestess casts Spiritual Weapon, hitting Lex for an additional 6 damage and forcing a second Concentration check. She then casts a spell on Ceria, who must make a Wisdom Saving throw.
>Affected: @Turbowraith, @Mistiel - both must make saves. Ceria fails her save and is Paralyzed by Hold Person.
