@CoolHwiffI don't think he could read their lips that far away. If he's on the roof he would outside while their inside. The tavern is dark and has small windows. Even with excellent sight he wouldn't be able to see their lips.

@Blueflame all you really have to say is "while the medics where working on Mason...." or "as the medics patched Mason..." and then whatever shadow does. Maybe their reaction to shadow. Npc's are just temps. It doesn't have to be specific.
