Also, Astarte and Vestec are in love. This is canon no matter how many times we restart. THEIR LOVE IS TOO TRUE.

Thus...was it...Fated :) <---- Troll...ol...ol

And Cyclone that actually reminds me of one of the characters in the original, I actually think his domain/portfolio was Change/Air xD will have to check though
I like it very much, he seems like a god who'd be very closely involved with mortal affairs (like Vestec and Vowzra (though he pretends he doesn't >.>) et others.) definitely creates for better story than Ferghus in his forge @Scarifar xPPP I mean, Alma Igna? All they really did was provide humanity with a helluvalotta weapon technology which led to the very efficient killing of most of humanity in more or less three battles. Nothing too important really :|
I just genuinely want to know what will come of Vowzra, Zerabil and Zera (whom we didn't see much of in this RP) - I didn't even get to the bit where Zerabil overwhelms Thulemiz. So I'll probably go with more of the same, though I might change my mind between now and June
The reason you went with Ialu was because you weren't here from the start, [@Cycone], I'd say go with a god character this time around, would definitely be interesting.
Wonder if @Rtron is still going to be our reliable chaos-bringer (because I think that was a vital element in creating story and conflict xD)
@Frettzo I think that's the solution that I've come to from Cyclone's words. I very much like the ability to not be restricted by Fate and Invictus intervening, but I think having them more active so that anyone who is interested can more easily latch on to that story is for the best.

And yup, referencing this version will definitely be something I do (if you notice with Vowzra in this, he referenced things that happened in the orignal, like Zerabil etc.) but I'll leave it as more of an IC thing for players who were in the original to play around with xP

Solo writing is great, but definitely think that RPing can complement it, especially in the development of writing ability department.
Well, if anyone wants to say anything else, the floor is open. Cyclone's point is relevant, and if anyone supports it then please make your views heard - just keep in mind that if we do want to get rid of Invictus and Fate, you need to replace them with a different hook as the idea of a pure deity sandbox doesn't appeal to me personally (and in fact, I'm of the opinion that not having a hook and a wider lore/background to the universe beyond what is created IC is one of the main reasons deity RPs tend to fail).
@Cyclone

Siighh. Their existence wasn't just thought up by me on the spot, there is a significant backstory - as is suggested in the very first post - and entails a much, much larger world beyond 'the universe'. You and I discussed briefly what lay beyond, the creation of dimension which allow beings from the exterior in and so on. Getting rid of Invictus and Fate would pretty much break the system/world I've got in mind and require either a complete reconfiguration of some kind, or accepting it as a pure sandbox RP with no significant overarching plot, or universe beyond what players decree IC, which can be chased. (Lugubrious was in fact going after that over-arching plot and would have succeeded in having it kick in somewhat).
While I agree, someone like Ialu would probably not be interested in it at all (though he did seem rather determined to find out who the 'Mighty One' was and take his advice when given etc.) other characters, like Escre, Vowzra, even whatshisfacechaosguy Vestec, may well have been interested. I'm open to what everyone else thinks and will obviously seriously consider everything proposed even if I feel it changes the basis of the universe I had in mind.

Edit: Double Ninjad.
Was having Invictus and Fate ever really that necessary?

They were so detached and mysterious that you could have removed them from the plot and it wouldn't have mattered much, maybe aside from Invictus making Ialu.

Of course they are necessary, the very fact that the 'gods' could exist without external interference is thanks to them, more or less. We also never got far enough for their ultimate purpose to manifest (if the gods ever did get powerful enough to rebel or something).
I like the idea of a complete reboot, saves me the hassle of creating a complex backstory xP
Still a ways off from summer, but just letting you all know that I am in the 'thinking' stages of what a reboot of this RP would be like. Considering something of a sequel where the gods got powerful enough to challenge Invictus and Fate and there was a great war of some kind (no khookies for guessing which side Vowzra and Escre were on xP) which led to the wipeout of the gods and the universe (though I'm considering having something like 'the ghost' (if you will) of Invictus/Fate/one of the other gods remaining as some kind of guardian). And from this mess would emerge the new gods. Would require quite a lengthy backstory (or simply leaving it as a mystery which can be explored ICly via the ghost).

Either that, or we do a complete reboot, go back to default setting, Invictus and Fate calling up the gods etc.
I think trying to fix up some of the irregularities in this version (regarding timeframes, populations etc.) and just continuing it would be a bit of a big ask. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to put them forward. In any case, here's me confirming that (as of yet) this will still be going ahead come summer :)

Sitrah
Kingdom of Bahrain.

At exactly seven o'clock every morning, Ali Musa al-Abasi, better known as 'Sheikhna', 'Abu Musa', 'Sheikh Ali' or 'Hajji Ali', returned from the mosque and opened his shoe shop. At ten minutes past seven, the cassette player (the Sheikh could never really get over those) rattled to life and began playing, the Qur'an in the voice of that most grand Egyptian reciter, Abd al-Basit Abd al-Samad. By 15 minutes past seven, the 58 year old was seated on his stool, among the tables and shelves, the odd machine and innumerable pieces of leather, with his first set of shoes for the day.

Today, the shoes happened to belong to Zainab, a girl in her second year of Architecture at the University of Bahrain. She also happened to be a partisan of Saraya al-Mukhtar, and had actually managed to do a pretty good job of bringing more university students into the fold. It was, of course, a dangerous thing - government spies and affiliates had their tentacles everywhere. But the girl seemed to have some wit about her and was, as of yet, undetected. Or perhaps she had been detected long ago and they were preparing something...

You could generally tell quite a bit about a person from their shoes. A man in the profession for nearly four decades, Hajji Ali could tell considerably more. The completely worn out pair of black flat crocs before him said quite a bit. There was a level of conservatism, modesty - professionalism even. There was also a level of parsimoniousness - the shoes looked like they had been used non-stop for a considerable period of time, and replacing them did not seem to have yet become an option worth consideration. But then again, the upper was of good quality leather so she did not seem miserly when it actually came to buying something. There was a level of pragmatism and practicality too, and admittedly some taste if you were of the 'less is more' mentality. He could only imagine the utilitarian buildings someone like her would design. But there was one last thing that had to be considered, and that was the fact that the girl was an abaya-wearing tigress of Sahib al-Zaman. It was in her character to hide what could be hidden, whether physical or otherwise, and the shoes reflected that too.

At exactly 20 minutes past seven, the old man finished his observation of his customer's shoes and began working on them. The soles were worn thin and the leather would need restoration. It was going to be a lengthy process, but such was the price of battling the tide of modernity and technology and endeavouring to keep the traditional ways alive. His eldest son, Musa, would arrive at 07.30 - for he worked with him from Saturday til Tuesday every week - and the boy had always been rather deft with his hands. Musa would be able to deal with the leather while he focused on the simpler task of fixing the sole.

As he set to work, he allowed his mind to drift back once more to what had happened last night. Another shipment of weapons had come in. It was getting to a point now where the warehouse would soon have more weaponry stored inside than shoes. If a raid should occur it was more likely than not that they would be discovered. But a raid had never occurred, not even when tensions were at their highest in the '80s, why would it happen now? He was probably just anxious because a general meeting was taking place tonight. They would start drifting in from just after dhuhr time and the meeting would begin at 18.00, exactly one hour after Hajji Ali closed the shop. Things had been picking up in the last few months, and he knew that whatever would take place at tonight's meeting would change the rules of the game completely...
Hmm, this is just my thing, 2 months per post xD
