What sort of portfolio's are available? I'm not well versed in that subject.

It's all up to you, you choose the Domain, and then you select anything within that Domain that you want your god to have more power in. As the RP develops, you'll be able to add Domains and (Portfolios)
To give you and example, you can have Chaos (Upheaval), War (Battle), Death (Plague), Emotion (Fear) and a near limitless variants. More than one god can have the same Domain, but no two gods can have the same Domain (Portfolio).

I believe I've seen something of this sort before... However, I've a difficult question.

Would I be able to play a god of death?

I don't see why not, a perfectly respectable and necessary god. We had a god of death in the original OldGuild version and a demigoddess of death in the previous iteration.
Mind you, the way it functions is not as straightforward as a 'god of Death'. You have to choose something broad, a Domain (i.e Death) and something specific, a (Portfolio) (which would be something like Death (Murder) or Death (Plague) etc.)

I always go warlike. I'll be a trickster this time, but I'll need to decide how good/evil I play as.... Maybe both?

You will quickly find that the line between good and evil very quickly becomes blurred when you're a god xD

@Mardox We've had gods of chaos aplenty, but a trickster we haven't had! I'd very much like to see that.
If you want, you can check out the previous iteration to get to grips with how it would work. I've tweaked the mechanics a bit, but it's all very similar:

@Mardox It's going to be a relatively slow paced RP as I am rather busy. If you know you can be dedicated in the long-term and won't lose interest, then come in from the cold and join us round the fire. If not, we'll almost certainly be around if you come knocking again ;)

@Double Capybara I personally think that it's a riveting read, I've read back through it a few times myself and the quality (for the most part ^^') is up there. I think the first few pages don't have summaries for the first few IC pages, but we implemented them a few pages in, so it should be easy for you to read through and get a gist of what happened overall

You are correct. There has been no catastrophic reconfiguration of the system, it is still recognisable as what it was in Mk.I, but you will need to read the new OP in order to understand the new mechanics, rules etc.
