@Fabulous Knight Hmm? Which post?
@KhoWell, none of this really gets to the back of the issue.

What do the Hain know (at their maximum technological extent)? Where are we on that list in the OP?

As far as I can see from the IC, they have an understanding of home, emotions, stone tools (including stone-tipped spears), bow and arrow, community, language, entertainment (that story), names, and the making of rawhide (but not leather).
@KhoYou're thinking of the neolithic (or new stone age, which sounds much cooler IMO). The stone age lasted three and a half million years.

Meh, your argument is noted, though I personally see that prehistory ends and the Stone Age begins with the establishments of significant settlements - such as Jericho and Catalhoyuk.

The reason I say this is, is that just because it hasn't come down to us, it is not necessary that these civilisations could not write or did not write.
@KabenSaalStone age is pre-history.

Not necessarily. If by 'pre-history' we mean the age of the literal caveman, if such ever existed, then no, that's not the stone age.
The stone age is more what was going on from around 11,000-4500 BC, when we did in fact have Stone Age civilisation, agriculture, animal domestication, sedentary life etc.

Jericho is another example of a Stone Age city. And others exist, of course.

Interesting...

But I'm about to create a race that MUST be stone age, or at least have stone tools and weapons with some crude metal. Like, it's not possible for them to be anything else. I have a very good, fair reason for it that totally fits the RP, but I don't want to spoil it.

Damnit, how do I explain this without giving too much away?

Then you just have to expend some Might to teach them. That, or you create them as they are and wait for them to use their superior intellect to advance faster than everyone else.
I suggest everyone have a look at the '(A Far From Exhaustible) Technology/Ideas List, Just So We're All Aware of the Current Technological State of Things' section, because that can really give you an idea of just how much we need to get through - no one has confirmed that things as simple as 'emotions' have yet been understood by the sentients.
@KhoCities existed in the stone age/with stone age tech. If we want to limit civilisation, we should -- limit civilisation.

Just saw your edit. I have no idea what your point is ^^'
We have yet to develop stone age civilisation at all, or fully explore stone age tech. Cities existed in the stone age, that's fair enough, our hain have yet to discover fire and live in huts. Humans have yet to domesticate any animal. How are they going to build cities?
Perhaps the hain, with their domestication of the golems, could build stone homes, but nothing much beyond that.

And as stone age civilisation and tech develops and we get, at the most, city states, they still won't be Empires.
@KhoCities existed in the stone age.

Of course, but not Empires.
We already have tribes and settlements on Galbar, but nothing much beyond that.

Easy, Lif will organize an empire

We're working with foresight in mind.

Organise an Empire is fair enough, but in the stone age? With your own stone spears, huts, pool and hookers? Without any food source bar what you can hunt? I think anything resembling an Empire will have to wait a while xP
Don't mean to rain on your parade or anything, but we're a ways off, and I haven't permitted development beyond the Stone Age on Galbar yet. If you want to get to the early bronze age, go to Arcon.
To all those after my khookies, I've got two essays due on Sunday. I'll not be able to read IC posts, let alone hand out khookies.
