lol it's all good. That's where are adaptability comes in on working around that. If you wanted to do your own character arc, go right on ahead as long as it doesn't fully interfere with the progress of the story. There can be side stories in comics and hero novels where there are multiple characters as long as it doesn't fully hinder the progress of the main story.

Samson "Captain Supremo" Creed

Name: Samson Creed
Alias: Captain Supremo
Race: Super Human
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Appearance: 6'3 African American with a body frame and build that's measured to be about the same level of a world class body builder. He weighs about 320 lbs. He usually wears a gray business suit with either red or blue shirts and patterned ties. Leisurely he wars jeans and a tight ass muscle shirt to show off his physique.
Personality/Motivation: Brave, selfless, Samson usually puts his life on the line for those who needs help. He defends the defenseless and willing to step in the line of danger to protect those who needs it most. He at times comes off as egotistical for the fact that he feels the world cannot function without him and his powers.

Samson was originally a powerless, warmhearted, sickly boy and was often bullied and considered weak until coming into contact with a meteor that crashed in a field not far from where he traveled home. After absorbing the radiation, granting him power, Samson vowed to do things he could never do before, such as stopping bullies, whether mere human or a super being. He'll save as many lives as possible because of the incident that haunted him of his mother being brutally beaten and killed in front of him. Supremo will not tolerate crime, evil, and disrespect as he's the face of justice and will make sure that everyone can live happy peaceful lives.......at least that's how he feels.
Gear: He has a utility belt with gadgets that were created by his contact. He has two known devices so far. 1) A tracking device and 2) An emergency communicator for ones who call for his help.
Abilities: Being a hero, of coarse he'll have powers. His main power is:

Super strength- Exerts super physical strength far greater than the average member of the user's species. along with being able to use leg strength to leap incredible distances. The strength used can cause a shock wave with a clap of the hands or shake the ground smashing his fist towards the ground.

Durability- Basically Resist damage. He can take gun shots, get hit by vehicles and remain unharmed and so on.

Flaws: He's vulnerable to mental abilities and is capable of being possessed. Because of his physical condition, he lacks fear, so he tends to be a bit careless, causing him to either be tricked easily or fall for a sneak attack. He can also be hurt by magic.
