While Ashana hurried off to do that little job for him, Cassius followed their soon to be initiate out past the city gates and towards the much smaller hamlet. As per usual of the master thief, he blended seamlessly into the shadows cast by houses, trees and shrubs with nary a sound given. It wasn't long he made it to the village, just mere moments before the young girl graced him with her presence.

Casually, with his hood drawn over his head, he leaned against the wooden gate with his arms crossed, tilting his head upwards slightly as the young girl tarried through, unaware of the man eyeing her intently until he spoke in a charming manner, "Quite a bit of coin you're carrying on you, eh lass?"

A grin crossing his face, he softly nudged himself off the wall into a standing position, a glint of his yellow eyes the only thing appearing from the darkness of his shadowed cowl. "And the best part is you tricked our little rose out of it." Rather pleased the man chuckled, once more an image of Ashana's disappointed face flashing in his mind. She would get over it...at least Cassius hoped. After a brief bout of laughter, he resumed his more serious composure, "I think you have what it takes, lass. However, you'll need to do more than just trick one of our master thieves out of a purse full of gold. Another test if you will." A slight bow towards her, he held out his hand. "Care to oblige me, lass?"
@Meleck No worries bro. If anything, I got a lot of my cyberpunk knowledge from the usual suspects:

-Neuromancer
-Ghost in the Shell
-Akira
-Appleseed
-Johnny Mnemonic
-Altered Carbon
-Total Recall
-Blade Runner
-Bubblegum Crisis
-A.D. Police Files
-Judge Dredd
@Meleck Christ, I knew there was something I forgot...

As Sniblet stated, the Eurodollar is part of the official Cyberpunk canon, which this RP obviously does not follow, as it is a completely separate universe with it's own lore.

That said, and just for the sake of not confusing anyone, the American dollar still has value in this world, as do Euros and Yen. The global economic collapse in this universe didn't wipe out physical currency exchange entirely. It more or less just wiped out alot of corporations and businesses around the world, thus leading to a power vacuum that's being filled by the six megacorps.

There is also cryptocurrency in this world.

Sorry for the short posts all, but I'm about to leave for work. Hope this suffices.

And just like that...

The case had taken a turn down a much darker path, one that even Hiro himself was fearful to tread.

The bullet ripped through his upper thigh, just below his pelvis, amidst a loud crash of thunder that all but silenced the gunshot as he fell to his knees in the chilling rains that poured down upon him. Desperately, he clawed through his coat to reach for his pistol, but too late was he as a heavy boot crashed into the side of his head with all the force of a colliding semi-truck, throwing Hiro dazed into a puddle of water and sending his nine millimeter skittering across the wet, glossy pavement.

"Y-you...!" Weakly he muttered in dreadful surprise, turning his head slowly just to catch a faint glimpse of his assailant, mainly that gruesome, macabre visage that obscured his true self, those two glowing red eyes like the very embers of Hell gazing into his soul.

Another boot came crashing into him violently, this time into his ribs, with the crack of his bones culminating with another crashing crescendo of thunder overhead. Forcefully he was flipped over on his back, gazing bleary eyed at the dull gray skies above, nary a word he could muster through the tormenting waves of pain that pulsed throughout his entire body. The only thing that Hiro could push through his lips was a cough of viscous blood that streamed down his cheek onto the tarmac as his attacker, his cruel, torturous assailant set his heavy boot upon the detective's broken and battered frame, laughing ever so wickedly at his triumph over him.

Soon however, his cackling faded, leaving Hiro in the cold, deathly silence of only the rain pattering across his beaten and mangled body. Everything around him slowly began to dissipate into an inky blackness, the red lights of the Venus District, the occasional crackle of lightning across the darkened skies, the rumbling clap of thunder. It would all disappear from Hiro...as faintly he uttered one...last...word...

"Sanguis..."

“If you got an extra piece for me to use, then I can cover you.”

Emma turned her head slightly to answer Maggie's request, but sadly...no answer would follow.

"EMMA!" Nina screamed in horror watching the gruesome, horrible scene unfold so suddenly before her waking eyes. A massive bang erupted vibrating the air all around her, a sudden shrill gasp leaving her lungs like she was punched square in the chest. Her mouth hung agape as she watched the side of the female cop's head explode in a puff of red mist, her body crumbling to the ground and her gun flying out of her hand, landing abruptly at Maggie's feet.

"NO!!" Nina's eyes filled with tears, her throat seizing up so much she could barely utter another terrifying scream. Emma's body was now lying in a puddle of blood on the road, the Regulators stepping over her like she was nothing more than a piece of garbage in their way...as they resumed their advance towards Nina, Maggie, and a badly wounded Lilith.

"They...they killed her, Maggie! They fucking killed her! BASTARDS!"

The Regulators were coming for them next, but Nina...she was frozen stiff, unable to run, let alone move a single inch. She was caught in a maelstrom of overwhelming terror and violent, vicious anger.

Desmond gave his pink haired subordinate Mira a disapproving glare upon lieu of her recent feed activity. God, how he hated that cringy anime filter she always used to mask their operations from the public eye, especially the reactions it got from her supposed fans, a
bunch of perverted degenerates in Desmond's opinion. For the life of him, Desmond still couldn't fathom why Milicor would allow such shenanigans to resume from this girl, such unprofessional conduct that would have even the highest ranking officer court marshalled in nothing flat.

"Christ, Pinky. Cut that bloody thing off for once, will you?" Desmond grumbled heaving a bothered sigh. "In case you haven't noticed, we've recently had a security breach. Classified data was stolen from this facility by two netrunners and their mercs. BemaTech is furious and wants the data retrieved at all costs. I've already neutralized the mercenaries and contacted a nearby Regulator cell to deal with the runners. In the meantime, I need you and the rest of the team aiding them. Chances are this Acid_Burn is craftier than our intel led us to believe, and she may have already escaped police custody.
Locate the target and recover whatever data she stole. Once that's done, kill her and report back to me. Plain and simple."
@Dark Cloud Ditto. I'll post here shortly

@Eviledd1984 YAY! :D

Mirielle resumed tailing the necromancer, making sure to keep a good distance between them so as not to arouse suspicion. All the while, she was waiting for him to slip up, one little showing of his vile power to justify her plunging her purified blade through his blackened heart. Her gauntleted hand remained at rest upon the hilt, her firm, condescending glare like an arrow towards the back of his head. The Holy Order despised many who delved into the depths of darkness, witches, summoners, even just simple mages, but high in disdain did they hold necromancers, for their perverse magicks sullied the natural order of life and death.

Nary a necromancer had ever survived an altercation with the Order's inquisitors.

Meanwhile, Ashana had reached her destination, a small perching roof overlooking the cobblestone street where earlier she had her acquaintance with the young girl, the one who practically tricked the veteran thief out of an easy score. While disappointed she didn't make off with her coins, Ashana had to admit she was impressed. So was the man who eventually joined her on the rooftop.

~"You're late."~ She simply said to him as she resumed eyeing the young beauty from afar.

The hooded figure chuckled in reply, a dashing smirk forming across his pale lips, "Punctuality has never been part of our profession, lass." From beneath the dark of his hood, his shimmering, almost wolfen yellow eyes peered down on the street, intently following their mark as she blissfully wandered unaware of the pair stalking her from afar. "I still find it amusing she persuaded you not to steal her coin." He tittered. "You always fall for the pretty ones, don't you Ashana?"

~"Oh shut your gob, Cassius."~ Ashana muttered rolling her eyes, her pale cheeks glowing a warmer shade of red beneath her own dark cowl. ~"She is pretty, but that's beside the point. I think she would make a fine addition to our little family."~

"Aye, I agree." Nodded Cassius. "But she still has to prove her worth before I welcome her in. I'll make the introduction. In the meantime, I have a job for you."

~"The usual breaking and entering?"~ Ashana purred with an eager smile to her face.

Cassius shook his head, his tone grave as he answered, "I'm afraid not today, lass. I need your other talents unfortunately. It's those damn Blackhorns again. One of ours got their throat slit. I want you to send them a message loud and clear."

Ashana sighed disappointed, her lips curling downward into a more grim expression, ~"You know I hate getting my blade dirty, Cassius, but so be it. Who is the target?"~

"Sheamus. Holgeir Blackhorn's bastard son." Cassius replied, a sharp hint of anger to his voice. "Kill him. Send a message to Holgeir this is our city."

~"Fine."~ Said Ashana. ~"But you owe me one."~
@Sniblet *facepalm* ACK! Sorry about that! >•<
@Dark Cloud Yes but well oiled.
@Dark Cloud Yup, Sanguis is by far the most evil motherfucker in existence. He took away the samurai cop's katana.
