Servants are just photo copies of the heroic spirit data in the throne of heroes. They dont retain any knowledge since they are separate things from the actual spirit. The only known exception is Arturia because of her pact with the world making it so that she hasnt technically died.

Actually not, there's a point on the VN where archer mentions that servants, thought perhaps it was supposed to hint to his Counter Guardian nature, know what happened to them during a summoning just like they've read it from a history book. They're memories per se, but general knowledge of vents. Then again, like I said, perhaps this is just with Counter Guardians, 'cause that is the whole reason why he got so cynic after his death, Gaia kept fucking with him until he just gave up trying to be a hero.

It was just a casual question. And it's not like I was going to pick Arthuria or anything like that, Gil on the other hand... It's just because of the many servants that were used in supplementary material, like F/E and F/A, people can easily overlook some of them if they aren't big Nasuverse know-it-alls and so it might grate with established canon.

On that matters there's no need for a CS Template for the servants, just use the canon one, it saves a lot of thought. Also, how powerful can our servants be, 'cause creatures like Spartacus (that ugly Berzerker) make no sense at all, if you're wondering the source of my complaints about that guy, it's because he has a canon EX rank endurance, which pretty much makes him unkillable, the only reason why he died on F/A is because all servants from that LN are as imbalanced as hell.

A question on that, thought. While I do have Ideas for original servants that I could use? I'd like to ask if we could play as canon servants too, just on another incarnation as it's usual. Since their memories are wiped clean (even though they preserve the knowledge of it !? go figure what Nasu was thinking when he wrote that) of any previous time that they were summoned, I think it's fair game.

That's the problem when talking about the Nasuverse to say the truth, it's all but impossible to not spoil things unintentionally.

To hell with that guy. He's the Berzerker that I hate the most among them all. His stats simply make no sense at all, how can he have more endurance than Heracles who, among other things, run for a whole Year, non-stop to catch the Moon Deer?

and I'm totally fine either way, but if you'd like to go Servant, I can totally go Magi. Generally I can only play competent characters well, and if I were to be a servant, it'd probably be either Berserker or Lancer.

Actually the singular form of the word is Magus (don't mind my nerdiness when it comes to the nasuverse, btw). Anyway, Lancers are awesome, the problem is that being one sucks (unless you're Karna, of course), Berzerkers on the other hand suck hard, Lancelot and Heracles are the only two canon Berzerkers that are worthy batting an eye over.
