Going to try something new and refresh with a temp 1x1 thread.

I'm open to practically anything (survival horror and fantasy in particular are my bread and butter) except smut. Don't even ask about it.

Romance is a so-so. I would prefer not to do it but I can be talked into adding some as long as it isn't forced.

Please don't ask "can you play male/female/insert gender here". I really don't care for set in place gender roles and it has turned me off from interest checks in the past.

Also don't ask about canon characters.

I typically write 3-4 paragraphs or so once per week, though I can write more or less if I'm up to it or want to match my partner. I don't do one liner RPs, however.

So, if you've got any ideas or plots, lemme know and maybe we can cook something up.

Throughout history, countless scientists have dedicated their lives to furthering Darwin's teachings in hopes of understanding evolution. Some believed if they could perfect nature's craft, then they could bring forth humanity's own evolution. Humanity's evolution, however, was not a matter of "if", but rather a matter of "when".

Following centuries of "peace" upon humanity's unification at the conclusion of World War 3, the once great world-spanning hive cities of Terra, more commonly known as Earth in the lowborn tongue, had been suddenly hammered by a large cluster of extraterrestrial objects that were able to bypass humanity's outer ring defenses as a direct result of separatist sabotage. Though the damage erased entire sectors and snuffed out the flame of life from untold billions, the parasitical life forms later discovered on excavated rubble had an unexpected side effect on humanity.

Originally thought to be an illness resulting from radiation carried by the asteroids through space, those that survived the sickness found themselves "changed", having been granted legendary powers thought to be fantasy. Control over the elements, super speed, shape shifting—the age of magic had taken over the age of unification.

For the separatists desiring the freedom of their ancestors' homelands, these powers were a blessing in disguise. For the unified government of humanity, they were more than a thorn in their side. What were originally just rogue attacks on military bases or governmental offices became outright terrorism, plunging sectors into chaos as the separatists began to prey on the powerless, hoping to incite global change from fear.

Unable to control the situation, the UEG chose to play fire with fire, ordering the creation of F.E.A.R., otherwise known as First Encounter Assault and Recon. Street rats with powers of their own were swept off the streets, prisoners pulled out of jails—if you were someone who wouldn't be missed or had no name, you were now UEG property to be kept on a rather short leash like a mistreated dog.

But what happens when the leash is "accidentally" let go? Perhaps it is time to ask if wolves still howl at night.

TL;DR: Asteroids bring alien life to Earth in a destructive way, but also giving humanity "magical powers". The lowborn, scum and trash of humanity that happen to have powers are then suddenly conscripted into fighting a growing revolt and terrorism aided by the same powers they have.

This roleplay will have a casual approach, requiring only a few paragraphs or so once per week. When the sheet is released, character applications will be chosen on a yet-to-be disclosed date, rather than the usual first come, first serve. If anyone happens to have any further questions or require clarification, please do ask me for more information.
