I'm going to have to take a break for awhile. One of my dogs just passed; we went to bed together like we always do and when I woke up she was gone. I feel awful right now.

Had a fun birthday. Had some alligator tail for dinner, overall was pretty good for a place I hadn't been to before. Will start getting back into the groove of things soon.

Hello, I am new to this website! I’m Tadwinks, but you can call me Inky.

@Inkarnate Sounds like you have some competition.

Welcome to the guild, by the way.

"Well, yeah. Why else wouldn't it be?" Honami asked Kaito. Everything else she had mentioned had been right so far, so her intuition that larger cities had better and more goods. Even in their own world bigger cities often had a bigger, higher quality selection of items to buy than that of small town Japan such as Makino. It shouldn't have been a surprise to him, but, Honami figured, it was probably why Kaito was a "pure soul" or something.

As the conversation shifted to food, Honami was quick to agree. She had been so preoccupied with the whole "in another world" trope that she had completely forgotten to eat. Not that Honami had anything to eat in her school bag to begin with, having forgotten to put her snacks in her bag the night before.

"It'd be nice to have a decent meal for once." She replied, glancing at Hiroko. She had a point—Ipharia had already spent much on clothing them. There had to be alternatives to save the girl some money.

Turning her attention to the merchant, Honami decided it was worth a shot to ask him. "Do you have any recommendations for one to get a meal around here? Preferably cheap, if you please." She inquired, hoping he had any ideas in mind. A small village like this one likely had some kind of a special recipe or food item that wasn't sold anywhere else, and in the case that they didn't, a cheap meal regardless would at least save Ipharia some coin for their travels to come.

Sydnee smiled back at Ella before she, too, returned her attention back to talk of an escape plan. Whilst it seemed that they had managed to come up with some sort of an idea in their heads on how to escape their current predicament, Sydnee had been left more confused than ever as Lys—and later Ella—bolted off towards the old tunnel. Had she said something wrong, or was there something else? Sydnee hadn't the slightest clue, evident by the look of confusion on her face.

"Well, JJ, I suppose we should follow them as well." Sydnee commented, pushing away the questions she had for Lys into the back of her mind. "Though, I doubt we'll get lost chasing them down with how noisy Ella is being." She jested, placing the egg case back inside her backpack before heading off down the path the girls had taken, Trapinch in tow.

Thankfully, it wasn't all that difficult to catch up with Ella and Lys, as they had stopped by the sign JJ spoke about moments earlier. Catching only the tailend of their conversation, Sydnee decided to add her two cents in.

"If, in fact, they are caved in, like the one back the way we came," Sydnee pointed back the way they had came from her with her thumb as she approached the duo, "then we could try enlisting the help of some Pokémon that live in this mountain. Sandshrew love to live deep underground, so we'll likely run into a couple if we end up going deeper into Mount Moon. Probably a bunch of Geodude around here, too."
@TheMerlin Yeah, some people make more than one. One for general interest checks and one for whatever category it is in. I probably would just bump the interest check, like others have stated, if you recently made it, though. Maybe you could try advertising the interest check in the status bar or on the guild's discord?
Taking charge. Too many people are guilty, including myself, of being a passive GM. You need to be upfront and assertive. Don't accept a terrible sheet just because you accepted everyone else. If someone is being a little shit and bothering the rest of the players, kick them out of the RP instead of twiddling your thumbs and wondering why everyone is leaving. Try your hardest to stay focused on the RP i.e. post on set deadlines (this one I'm especially guilty of not doing) and being an active role in the RP (albeit without going overboard; let the players have some reign). Etc.
Welcome to the guild, @Kiki is Anxious. Anything specific genre-wise you're into?
Welcome to the guild, @xxBlackRabbitxx.
@Sarge67 Welcome to the guild. Most DnD on the guild is 5th, but I imagine there are a couple that play older systems.
Welcome to the guild, @Hazelrah.

Finally! Back on the road. Learning more about the new world they were in and figuring out what to do was all swell and dandy, but there was only so much sitting around and talking Honami could take. Just thinking of dilly dallying in the forest any longer made Honami miss texting. At least then Honami could speed things up with her high WPM and use of abbreviations and slang, but Kaito, Hiroko and Ipharia probably wouldn't have a clue what she was saying, so it likely wouldn't be a good idea in the end regardless if it was possible. God, technologically illiterate people were the worst.

"So, a weapon, huh?" Honami commented as the group eventually arrived to the village. "Should be easy to get in a place that has a smith." She continued, noting the rising black plume of smoke from a nearby building.

Taking her share of coin from Ipharia, Honami followed Hiroko into the village, and to the nearest tailor. Making a point to look the part, she went out of her way to pick up a light blue haori, a sleeveless, knee-high kimono and some equally Japanese platform shoes for herself. It was as close as she was going to get to LARPing—live action roleplaying she learned of by stalking Western message boards—and what better way was there to LARP than to pretend that you're a badass Shinsengumi?

Making her way to the blacksmith next, clothes in hand, Honami spent the remaining money she had on a chokutō. It wasn't a katana, as she wished the smith had, but it was the best option. The smith's yaris were simply too lengthy for someone of her stature, and a tanto was hardly a warrior's weapon.

"I'd imagine so." Honami spoke up as returned to the group not long after Hiroko did. "At least in games large, major cities like the capital tend to have a mage district with enchanters, artificers and the like."
