Current I'm going to have to take a break for awhile. One of my dogs just passed; we went to bed together like we always do and when I woke up she was gone. I feel awful right now.

Had a fun birthday. Had some alligator tail for dinner, overall was pretty good for a place I hadn't been to before. Will start getting back into the groove of things soon.

Hi. If you've wound up here, you're probably wondering who I am.

You can call me Kuro, although some of you might better recognize me by one of the several other names that I have used in the past throughout the 11-ish years that I have spent on this forum. I'm a middle-twenties retail manager that is still trying to relive the glory days of their roleplay career while balancing a full-time job with an unsatiable need for overtime.

I tend to be open to most ideas when it comes to roleplay itself, be it whatever genre, group size, system, etc. That being said, I often gravitate to anything that falls in the following categories: anime, fantasy, slice of life, superhero or survival horror. If you believe that you have an idea that I might be interested in, feel free to shoot me a link; I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. Sometimes I forget to check my messages, so don't feel bad about pestering me again if I missed it.

I also have a discord server laying around. If we're cool, then I might be willing to a toss an invite your way.

A little bird bump told me that this might be open. Got room for another as you approach this rad cabin?

I did, but it’s been resolved now, thankfully. Now the prob is that I can’t click on the images I just uploaded here to get their links. Not sure why :/

right click -> open image in new tab

alternatively:

click the raw button in the top right to get the code of the post, it'll reveal the linked picture's url to you

@BrokenPromise First time seeing that pop up, too. Must be something new Mahz just added in. But it's odd that it shows up in PMs vs. the forum pages, if you click through to the last pages on a section the guild has countless "blank" pages where old content should've been. The statement doesn't show up there at all.
@Carlyle yes, i am, and to be clear, is it music-related, comic-book-related or tv show/movie related?

Doesn't matter: Anything works! I just ask it to practically everyone who doesn't mention what kind of roleplays and/or fandoms they're into in their introduction thread.
Welcome to the guild, @tealrootssss. As a guild ice breaker, are there any specific fandoms/settings/genres/etc. that you're interested in?
@Nallore Did some slight updating--feel free to copy it all for the first post in the OOC. I did place . in the @ so people didn't get pinged from this message, so you'll have to remove them if you do choose to use it.

Alexis "Lex" Karczewski

After some discussion, the George Washington bridge had been chosen as their escape plan. However, their rescuers had brought up a good point. Where were they going afterwards? What was their plan of action once they were out of the city? Lex hadn't known. Her home in New York was within the city limits; returning was impossible if they were planning on blowing the bridges and tunnels into Manhattan. She didn't have anyone nearby, either—her family all residing either in Chicago or across the sea in Europe.

"I'm not from here, despite appearances. All I know is the city itself." Lex responded, nodding in agreement with Billie. "So if this cabin is far enough away from Manhattan, then I think we should try it. If you don't mind, I mean."

She turned her head to listen to the other woman. For some reason, June had wanted to visit her car, but hadn't exactly said a reason as to why. Had there been some supplies in her vehicle? Or was it something else? Making too many stops could be dangerous. Aside from the threat of having their faces munched off, they were also on a time crunch to get out of the city.

"We have less than two hours to get out of the city. The streets are probably going to get worse than they already are the longer we wait." Lex explained to June. "I don't want to sound rude, but we can't afford to make too many stops if we want to get out on time."

Kali was thankful that Isaac was okay, as she had hoped. She had seen what happened to her co-worker, Jeff, and she didn't want to see it happen again to someone she knew.

As the vehicle made its way down the city streets, talk of a plan of action began to formulate. One spoke of a cabin. Another spoke of a car. Kali wasn't certain on what to do herself; she hadn't exactly prepared an evacuation plan in case of "flesh-eating monsters". But when faced with being stuck in a city with them versus a cabin or somewhere else with a bunch of (mostly) strangers, the latter seemed more favorable, and so she found herself in agreement with those interested in taking up Gus on his offer.

"I think we should stay at the cabin," Kali spoke up, looking around the MRAP at their motley collection of survivors. "At least until we can find out more about what's happening. We don't know what's out there yet."

She then glanced at the few bags of supplies that Isaac and the officer had brought back with them, and then to the security guard and Billie. As helpful as the supplies they had were, it wasn't going to be much in the long run. The visit to the museum had turned a three into an eleven, and even though there was strength in numbers, vending machine snacks and a few cans of foods were bound to not last long with this many people even with extreme rationing.

"Either way, we're going to need more supplies. Gummy worms can only get us so far; we probably have only a few days at most between all of us. Are there any stores on the way to your cabin? Or what about her car? We could stop and see if there is anything worthwhile."

"I'm Santa Claus." Nancy sarcastically replied. She could only assume that the newbie must've been the thugs' boss, or at least one of them. Keeping track of the 70th wasn't much of importance to Nancy, after all. "I'm here to bring coal to bad children, obviously."

The exosuit crossed its arms, while glowing eyes tracked the woman as she moved. First, she checked on the crook that Nancy had just pummeled, and then put herself between Nancy and the other thugs. Someone had a death wish, it seemed, as she tried to reason with Nancy to leave before there was "trouble".

"Cutting into the wrong business?" Nancy responded. "Oh, I don't care that you're robbing a bank. I've got bigger fish to fry than you all. But people are at risk, so I can't exactly ignore that. You should know how it goes."

As usual, pleas and promises fell upon deaf ears when it came to crime. Still ready to fight, the exosuit was sent charging towards the woman. Shiny red, mechanical claws moved outwards, attempting to grapple and throw the woman into the crooks behind her. Best to take out three birds with one stone, Nancy figured.
