Current I'm going to have to take a break for awhile. One of my dogs just passed; we went to bed together like we always do and when I woke up she was gone. I feel awful right now.

Had a fun birthday. Had some alligator tail for dinner, overall was pretty good for a place I hadn't been to before. Will start getting back into the groove of things soon.

Hi. If you've wound up here, you're probably wondering who I am.

You can call me Kuro, although some of you might better recognize me by one of the several other names that I have used in the past throughout the 11-ish years that I have spent on this forum. I'm a middle-twenties retail manager that is still trying to relive the glory days of their roleplay career while balancing a full-time job with an unsatiable need for overtime.

I tend to be open to most ideas when it comes to roleplay itself, be it whatever genre, group size, system, etc. That being said, I often gravitate to anything that falls in the following categories: anime, fantasy, slice of life, superhero or survival horror. If you believe that you have an idea that I might be interested in, feel free to shoot me a link; I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. Sometimes I forget to check my messages, so don't feel bad about pestering me again if I missed it.

I also have a discord server laying around. If we're cool, then I might be willing to a toss an invite your way.

Centered within the known world, the Aspadori plains have long been a notable, centuries-old battleground for rivaling kingdoms due to its strong lack of natural boundaries. The land has seen countless lords rule over it, and many more vying for the loyalty and faith of the local populace. Only upon the ascension of House Cierrspenne to the Aspadori throne would the makings of an independent Aspador truly be established, wherein the Aspadori were firmly established as a notable player within the region, rather than that of a sharpened tool to wield in battle against the various kingdoms, empires and realms.

Yet now, however, that same kingdom has come to meet its end today. In the wake of ancient political feuds turned bloody, the Aspadori eagle has found its sovereignty trampled upon once more as the armies of the world make their move. Peace is no longer an option for it is now a battle of survival as the country is torn asunder, and it plans to take everyone with it.

You are, be you knight, soldier, or even a mercenary, enlisted to the Aspadori cause.

Standing with the king and his men, you have found yourself at Zoclain, the Aspadori capital, while it falls under siege from Ottrian and Strogari forces. Relief will not come; all other possible forces are tied up elsewhere within Aspador.

As the battle progresses, it proves to be an unwinnable fight. With the eagle's wings against keep walls, it forces a last stand. With sword, tooth and nail, you must ensure Aspador does not die today, even at the cost of your own life.

Alea iacta est, brave warriors.

Yep, it's me. I'm finally back with another roleplay idea.

Kingdomfall has been a setting that I have had on the back burner for the last several years. It has existed in bits and scattered notes, but as of this thread the setting now has some semblance of a functional roleplay for me to GM and also for players to experience. That being said, pieces of it are still very much a work-in-progress, and will be touched up on as needed or as time allows me to. Therefore, if you happen to have any ideas, questions and/or comments, most things within Kingdomfall can be open to interpretation or expanded upon for future reference; just drop a message and I can get back to you.

Now, I'm certain that in this day and age I do not need to state the obvious. Follow guild rules, don't be an ass, etc.—everyone should know the typical rules and playbook of a roleplay by now. Just be fonz cool, and we'll have a great time.

For the old-fashioned who do need a rules list, however:

- Standard guild rules apply, just as they do anywhere else on RPG.
- You're the heroes of this story, but you're not overpowered gods.
- Substance is needed for posts. This is not a free-level roleplay.
- Persistent activity is required; try to post once a week or so.
- Applications are deadline-based, not first come, first serve.

If you've reached this far, then thanks for reading through all of this. If you're interested in joining, let me know below and together we can drum up some character ideas to work with.

The trip back to her hideout hadn't taken Nancy long. Swinging from rooftop to rooftop, it had been a breeze, and Nancy soon slinked back into the shadows of Paragon City.

Her hideout hadn't been much to look at, nor had it been a pretty sight. The unfinished complex, an expensive planned expansion in the Financial District, had been since long abandoned and left to rot over the years. Red tape and building codes had forced the builder to back out, citing "creative differences" between them and officials.

In doing so, they left behind a half-finished lot, wherein forgotten building material was left behind to gather dust and cobwebs. Nary a local bothered to tread the site, preferring to avoid the potential dangers that might've lurked within. But not Nancy. The emptiness and quiet made for a perfect hideout. There, she could plan her assault on the Delgatos, far away from any prying eyes.

There had been some days where she missed having an actual home, however. But the life of the alleged dead was not meant to be one of comfort—Nancy couldn't possibly return home, not in this state. She felt her mother had been better off believing that she had died that night, rather than see the monster that she had become. And that wasn't counting the fact that she was running around Paragon City with Veridian tech. There was no way that someone hadn't been looking for Zero-Zero, Nancy figured.

"Zero-Zero," Nancy spoke. A sharp hiss was followed by the back of the cockpit opening. "Run a diagnostic scan."

PROCESSING. The exosuit replied as Nancy climbed out. MINOR DAMAGE REPORTED TO RIGHT ARM SERVO.

Nancy sighed as she grabbed a remote to turn on a nearby television to the news channel. The impact she took into the wall must've battered the suit's internals. Of course, the exosuit had armor to prevent such a thing happening. But against someone strong enough to toss a mechanical giant like Zero-Zero? Damage was bound to happen, were Nancy not careful.

"Next time, I'll make her pay for the replacement with the money she stole."

Reaching for her tools, Nancy wrapped the tool belt around her waist and climbed up a ladder, ready to tinker away at Zero-Zero. It wasn't a difficult fix, but it would take some time.
AJ Beaufort

The sound of her mother's voice overwhelmed AJ. A few tears streamed down her cheek. She wanted nothing more than to be at her parents' side; back home and away from the carnage. She didn't care about the divorce, nor the arguments. She just wanted them both to whisk her away, far far away from this place.

"I'm... uhm," AJ sniffled, forcing herself to speak. "I'm okay, mom. They tried to get into the bus. I-I got separated from everyone else."

AJ turned to look at her surroundings. She hadn't realized how far she had ran, and so had no idea where she currently was in Caldwell. From what she could tell, there had been a few businesses nearby. A mechanic shop with a red roof stood next to a strip mall containing a mini mart, a salon and a boba joint. Across the street had been some sort of academy; a religious school of sorts as far as AJ could tell. She could make out a street sign down the road, but she hadn't the courage to get closer to read it by herself.

"There's a... school, I think. The sign says Trinity Academy. It has a big church next to it." AJ explained. "I see a few stores near us, too. We're right outside a mini mart and, uh, a boba place."

The sound of a car then drew AJ's attention. Unfortunately, to AJ's hope, it wasn't her parents.

"Someone just pulled up." AJ spoke, watching the battered Chevy Impala pull to the curve. "Kaitlyn and Shin-ae are talking to them."

As the others began to talk amongst each other, AJ glanced towards the road and looked down both ends of the street they were on. She hoped it wouldn't take long for her parents to reach her.

"Are you almost here?" AJ asked. "I-I don't see anyone else."

Alexis "Lex" Karczewski

Location: West Caldwell, Shell Gas Station
Skills: N/A

"I only have my epi-pens." Lex explained to Flynn once her nerves began to calm down. "And they won't help here."

Still, a tinge of worry stuck in her head as they awaited for the police to return. What if they were hurt? The man already tried to take a chunk out of her, having been driven mad by whatever this virus was. What if it happened to one of the officers?

Regardless of the what-ifs, they had more pressing matters right now. Isaac was growing worse by the minute, and Kali's attempts to help hadn't seemed to be doing much. She looked to Billie, who began asking Isaac what had been wrong with him. Though she hadn't been a doctor, Lex had seen her fair share of similar cases of people falling ill at the museum; typically from heat or walking around too much. Taking her own experiences into consideration, she commented her thoughts.

"Maybe stress? Or it could be the heat. We're riding in a metal box. I don't think they designed these with air conditioning in mind."

Before she could say anything else, however, the sound of gunfire snapped Lex to attention. She looked outside the MRAP, and saw two of the three officers rush out from the gas station. Her fears had been confirmed as she noticed one of the officers clutching his bleeding arm.

Immediately, Gus barreled past the group, and moved to lock the doors to the vehicle. One of them looked bit, he said, as he shoved Flynn back down to keep him from helping the officers.

"We're just going to abandon people now?" Lex spoke, disgusted with Gus' actions. She didn't feel comfortable with leaving them behind, potential bite or not. Even though she had just been attacked by someone who had been bit, it could've been anyone outside those doors. June. Billie. Herself. Were they just going to abandon each other if something happened for their own survival? What if it was just a cut or some other injury? "They went in to help us, and now you want to leave them behind because of an assumption? What if it was you out there?"

Kali Nordstrom

Location: West Caldwell, Shell Gas Station
Skills: N/A

Kali had been glad that Isaac could hold down the water. Still, she was worried for his condition. He didn't seem to be getting any better, and instead it seemed that Isaac was only growing worse. His skin was extremely sweaty, and appeared clammy to the eye. Kali was grateful for their attempts to help her boss, but she was certain that he needed to be seen by a doctor. There was no way they could diagnosis whatever was happening to him between themselves with how little medical training they likely had.

She glanced at her roommate, who hadn't spoke up in some time. They had both known Isaac for some time, and seeing him in this state was probably as disconcerting to Liana as it was to Kali.

"Isaac," Kali softly spoke, turning her attention back to Isaac. "Tell me."

She remembered how quickly Jeff fell ill after he had been bit by their co-worker, Tobias. Isaac had helped secure Tobias, and even stopped the kid from attacking them outside her apartment. It couldn't be, right? Kali hoped she wasn't right. She didn't want to lose another person she cared about.

"Did the kid from before or Tobias do anything to you? They didn't bite or scratch you, right?"

As Kali waited for his answer, they were suddenly interrupted by gunfire from within the gas station. Almost as if on queue, two of the officers burst out from the building, with the third nowhere to be seen. One of the two officers had been clutching his now bleeding arm, which Gus had taken as a sign that the officer had been bit. He quickly rushed to close the doors to the MRAP, and locked the officers out of the vehicle.

Though Kali was disgusted with his actions, she dared not make a move nor sound. The news report said to stay away from wounded individuals, she remembered. Locking them out kept them safe if they were indeed bit. Still, abandoning the officers like this churned her stomach—something Lex and Gus seemed to agree with, judging by their reactions to Gus' actions.

Instead, she glanced to Isaac, hoping that he hadn't been bit as well. If he was, she was fearful of what Flynn or anyone else would try. She had seen how Flynn lobbed a crossbow bolt right into the head of one of the "infected" back at the museum. Sure, he had done it to protect Isaac and the officer from being attacked, but everyone had seemed too casual with the fact that he had just killed someone. They may have been infected with some virus, but they were still people like him and her. People who had family. Friends. Had they all lost their humanity just so they could survive?
