Current I'm going to have to take a break for awhile. One of my dogs just passed; we went to bed together like we always do and when I woke up she was gone. I feel awful right now.

Had a fun birthday. Had some alligator tail for dinner, overall was pretty good for a place I hadn't been to before. Will start getting back into the groove of things soon.

Still frustrated, AJ waited in the backseat for her mother to get in the car. No matter what she could've said, it seemed like her mother had long since made up her mind on how they were going to survive this new pandemic. AJ wished her mother would just listen to what she had to say for once; to take her opinion and concerns into consideration and not just ignore them.

Hiding in the apartment was a stupid idea. They were surrounded by people. The things that killed Mr. Everett easily forced their way onto the school bus. It would be only a matter of time before they found them upstairs, and then they would all be dead. AJ didn't want to die a cruel death like Mr. Everett had, nor did she want her parents to die, either. The thought of it was gut-wrenching and terrified AJ. If those things found them, the only way out would be downwards—right into the jaws of the apocalypse. And her mother was okay with that?

"Dad?"

AJ looked up, her eyes reflecting in the rear view mirror. Her tone felt uncertain; shaky and nervous.

"We're going to be okay, right?"
Alexis "Lex" Karczewski

Location: West Caldwell, Shell Gas Station

One by one, Lex began to search the vehicles for any supplies that might've been left behind by their owners. The first car she searched proved empty, and the second vehicle had been locked.

"Maybe if I..."

Lex considered breaking a window. She thought back to the museum, and how they reassured her that her bosses wouldn't fault her for allowing such actions. In the end, however, she decided against it. Though they needed these supplies, the sound of broken glass or the alarm was bound to draw more of those things to the gas station. No one was certain how many lurked outside the gas station, outside the one that the officers had ran in to take care of. It'd be essentially ringing a dinner bell.

The fourth car she searched had been locked as well, and the sixth had been full of useless junk. The third and fifth, however, were just sightly better. One had a few odd snacks, which Lex eagerly grabbed for their group. She knew it wouldn't get them far, but more food was better than nothing regardless of what it was. The other vehicle had a bunch of abandoned clothes, which after some debate, Lex made the choice to take as well. She had a spare set of clothing, but Lex had no idea if anyone else in their group did. If anything in this pile fit someone, then it was worth taking. Who knew how close the nearest laundromat was to Gus' cabin, after all.

Yet as Lex returned triumphant, basket of clothing in hand, she found the group back at square one screaming and yelling at each other. Some had even called to take up arms in defense of whatever slight had happened.

"Woah, woah!" Lex called out, hurriedly dropping the basket near the MRAP. She wasn't quite certain what had happened, but clearly the tension needed to be diffused before people got hurt. "Let's all calm down, alright? No one needs to get hurt."

Kali was thankful that Flynn was willing to help. It still pained Kali that Isaac had been bit, but there was some relief she felt that Flynn was willing to take charge where she could not find the strength to do so. Though Isaac may have been her boss, he was still a close friend. Kali didn't know if she could handle losing someone else, but if it did come to it, she wouldn't be alone in her burden.

"Thank you," Kali spoke, finally cracking a weary smile.

Kali then turned to Liana, who had just stepped out of the MRAP.

"I don't know, Liana." Kali admitted. "They say the bite turns you... into those things. That means Jeff... Isaac... Marvin..."

Her voice began to trail off. The fact that so many people she knew or cared about were going to turn into a cannibalistic monster didn't feel real. But it was, and it was bound to happen anytime soon. Jeff and their neighbor were left behind in New York. Were they mindlessly wandering the city's streets, hungry for blood, like the man that attacked Lex? There was no way she could know, and the thought ate at Kali.

Before she could say much more, however, all hell broke loose.

Unbeknownst to Kali, June had taken the chance to snatch the officers' guns and hid them away in her bag. Thankfully, Billie had caught June in the action, and rightfully called out the woman as she blockaded the MRAP's exit. Still, blocking the exit wouldn't change much; not when the person in question had held not one, not two, but three loaded handguns on their person. If June was planning on leaving guns-blazing, there wasn't anything stopping her from turning Billie into swiss cheese.

Except one. One little thing; a gift from an elderly neighbor.

"Isaac!" Kali exclaimed. "The rifle!"
If not wanting to hand the reins of my RP over makes me selfish, then damn, I'm selfish. The only way you're going to get that co-GM spot is if you're someone I trust, like @mickilennial. Otherwise, that RP will die with me and me only.
Changed my mind in classic Kuro fashion. Finished Selez's sheet so it can be considered "done".

Just doing a quick edit so the CSes don't get confused.

Yep. Discussion threads should not get locked after any period of time, I think it actually killed a few threads as a result...

Certainly. We have multiple video game, movie, etc. threads labeled "part 1, 2, 3, etc." because of it, so the lock has definitely killed a few threads here and there.
It doesn't help that inactive threads get locked after a very short time.

Which only applies in the non-RP sections.

If they are a must it would've made more sense to have lockouts for RPs, not discussion threads. You're more likely to have people necro 8 year old interest checks/roleplays than these threads.
