Current Can't believe that I actually got an RP close to its endgame, btw...

Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

Despite its massive flaws, my RP, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, is still one of the longest ongoing RPs in RPGuild - It turns 4 years old in July and the current thread itself is more than a year old.

Hm... That would limit its ability to actually influence anything to the east. I'm looking at some maps, and yeah, it's WAY reduced by 1254. I can't make a great argument for it being able to interact with the Byzantines.

I'll go back to the drawing board. I'd rather not play Egypt... I've been trying to get an accurate picture of Tunis in 1254 and have been having some trouble doing so.

Tunis is where I'd like to start from if possible.

It's allowed; I'd love to see what you do with the Maghreb.

Also, respond to my PM?
Actually... I'll go ahead and ask:

Would the Almohad Caliphate be close enough to the Byzantine Empire for your purposes? That would open up a lot of places for other players, and it's a nice, fat empire ready to try conquering the rest of Iberia.

All right; I have my reservations, but I'll allow it.

Edit: Yes.
Hmm... I'll wait a bit and see who picks what before choosing a nation.

Thanks!
Would a King of Germany or a Duke of Bavaria be plausible?

Duke of Bavaria or Holy Roman Emperor works.

Edit: Especially as you'd be able to go down the Danube, towards Bulgaria, which borders the Byzantines/Nicaeans.
Why not just make people control either European powers or northern Africa countries. Basically the original map of CK2.

Wouldn't that make England and Scandinavia options? Those would be countries that would only interact with NPCs, which, again, would be hard nuts to crack.

Also, I'm going to add a rule against attacking any nation, NPC or PC, without a Cassus Belli.
How far is too far? I couldn't be like England right now considering you're Byzantium.

Maximum distance is a nation that can reach Byzantium easily by sea; meaning that almost all Italian States are open, especially if they have a Mediterrenean coast. Aragon is open too as it can reach the Balkans by sea even though it's in Eastern Iberia, but I'd advise against it.
Why do we have to start next to each other I mean one small nations could get surrounded by other players and have no where to expand.

Point taken, but the problem with starting from far-flung areas is the fact that player nations won't be able to interact with each other, only NPCs.

Also, NPCs can and will fight back in my NRP; they are not weak 'Space Filling Empires' waiting for the civilizing influence of the Player Nations. They are as strong as they were IRL, and will not submit easily.
@Shorticus, See the post above yours'; I chose the first nation.

Granted, the Nation Sheet is pretty scanty, but I don't see the use of copying information already found in Wikipedia.
Oh and what about the Holy Roman Empire would we play as one of the elector states or as the emperor if we wanted? Also, what if I was more or less interested in being a vassal lord?

All those options are open as long as 1.) you don't make up characters, and 2.) There's a player nation right next to yours.

Remember the rule against picking a nation not bordering a player country!
Nation: Basilea ton Rhomanion (Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire)
Location: Western Third of Anatolia (Modern-Day Turkey), Thessalonica and the Middle Balkans.
