Plot

You can't quite remember the details of when you first met your Digimon but they have always been there. From when you first started school to when you learned how to drive to when you moved in to your first apartment. You don't understand why they are there, but they are your partner for better or worse. Always providing sound (or not so sound) advice and serving as a friendly reminder that you are not alone in this world. As far as you know, your Digimon is the only one in the world. If anyone were to find out you have a talking creature living with you, the world would freak out, so you try your best to keep things hidden for as long as you can.

The only problem now is that more of these creatures are popping up along the way and your Digimon partner is growing a bit antsy and itching for a battle. Something is just not sitting well with them, especially with Digimon sprouting more frequently in the streets of the city. They have a nasty habit of running off into danger, trying their best to protect you and the world that they call home, but can only do so much without your help. It is clear that something weird is going on in the city... what's even more weird is the reality that you and your Digimon partner aren't the only ones seemingly called into action. As you balance your life as a young adult and a "Tamer" for your Digimon, how will you mesh with others who are just like you and keep your sanity?

Rules

• This RP is not a "first come, first serve" RP. You have to apply using the Character Sheet and then be accepted by me in order to participate in the RP.
• Absolutely no god-modding unless otherwise given permission by a GM.
• As stated in the Interest Check, this is a mature RP. Expect cursing, violence, romance, etc. to occur among the characters within the RP (anything that goes beyond regular romance allowed by RPGuild needs to be taken to the appropriate platform).
• For now, I'm only looking for 2 to 3 roleplayers that are capable of handling an advanced RP. I reserve the right to check your RP history in terms of the quality of your work. I could potentially add an additional fifth member of the group, but that is not likely.
• Communication and activity are requirements for me. I will create a Discord for this RP in due time, but if you are not responsive to my liking, I will have to let you go from the RP.
• If you are wanting to play more than one character, I would be happy to have that discussion with you. We may have up to 4 roleplayers, but that doesn't mean you are limited to just one character. I'm just wanting a smaller group of people to deal with than, say, eight people total.
• Have fun! I'm hoping to make this one a good one and look forward to seeing what you guys have to offer!

I guess you could say that I've been on a roleplaying high! I've found a great partner for my other interest check and I am in a comfortable spot with moving forth with this one. Admittedly, I've seen a few Digimon RPs popping up which has definitely got me excited about starting up my own one which has been floating around in my mind for the past few months even before my not-so-random absence from RPGuild. Anyway, I'm even more of a Digimon fan than a Pokemon fan, so I'm really excited to see if anyone else would be interested in what I had to offer in terms of an RP.

As you can see by the GIF above, Tamers was my favorite Digimon season due to the shift in the story and the darker and maturer theme. In an effort to keep that trend going, I'm looking for a very small group to carry out a Digimon Tamers-esque RP that is story and character focused and not necessarily dedicated to the technicalities of it (we're not going to be doing hit points or experience points; it's all about writing a good story).

In addition to this, I'm preferring that the Tamers be young adults (20 to 24 years of age) as I think this would allow us to throw in bits of "slice of life" and other young adult drama into the fold as well. This is not going to be little kids thrown into the Digital World; this will be young adults who may have full-time jobs, attend college or university, and have other issues outside of being partnered with a furry companion on the low. So, balancing out all of those troubles plus young adult emotions and responsibilities I think makes this that much more interesting.

With that being said, here are some things that I am looking for:

• A very small group of advanced roleplayers. 3 to 4 players max (me included). Anything more than that gets too unpredictable and difficult to control. Within this small group, I may allow for people to play multiple Tamers (I encourage it), but it truly depends on you!
• Diversity amongst characters and ideally roleplayers. I'd like to see balance in genders, race, ethnicity, etc. Let's make it realistic, a'ight? I prefer people to use real-life face claims as it allows for diversity in representation, but it's not a deal breaker. Anime pictures work fine.
• Consistent posting and communication. A repeat from my previous thread, but I like working with a group of writers who will communicate with me. I'm always available via Discord more so than here!
• Detailed and vivid writers are a plus. One liners and one paragraphs won't fit with my writing style, honestly. Nothing against those that do, I just love a good story with all the details.
• This is a mature RP, so cursing, romance, drugs, etc. are all a possibility. Themes that get a little frisky can take place via PM or elsewhere and can be implied in character in the thread. Questions about that can be referred to me via PM or Discord.
• I reserve the right to deny a person entry into this RP if I feel that our writing styles don't match. I don't want to waste anyone's time so please respect my decision if I don't accept you!

That's about it on the logistics of the RP. I don't want to type up too much and intimidate people, but I like to get what I'm looking for across first before going into the meat and potatoes of a specific plot. Let's go on to the plot now, shall we?

I'm thinking that this particular RP is set in an alternate universe of the actual Digimon anime. Let's face it, most of the seasons are in alternate universes anyway, so let's make our own up. I'll go into more detail about this one I gather enough interest from partners I feel fit well with me. Anyway, I'm kind of wanting to dive deep into the concept that just because a human is partnered with a Digimon doesn't necessarily mean that he or she will be the most responsible, law-abiding individual. So while the Tamers may mean well, they may run into some issues at some point (whether it be other Digimon or other humans). Likewise, there may be some other humans in the world that have partnered with Digimon that ulterior motives, especially given the dangerous power that comes with harnessing a Digimon. What do you think is going to happen when that desire for power consumes human flesh?

So part of my October festivities included watching all of the Harry Potter movies. In the midst of that, I've been playing some of the classic Pokemon games in my spare time and it reminded me of an unfinished fan fiction I wrote so many years ago. It's fairly common concept in the world of Pokemon RPs obviously, but I've always been intrigued by the idea of having a Pokemon Academy RP be extremely successful. The problem with that is that I know that I don't particularly do too well with roleplays that have more than 5 people (including myself). Not that I can't do it, but it just gets too difficult to manage personalities, writing styles, and a plethora of other controversies. I find it easier with smaller numbers whereas most "academy" style RPs have a rolling admissions process where anyone can get in so long as they are accepted.

So, let me try to get to the point of this particular request thread: I'm looking for a committed partner for a one on one Pokemon Academy RP that is willing to basically take on the heavy load of crafting our own little universe. The details of the RP itself will come later, but I wanted to iron out a bit of the house keeping details before I hook you in with a plot. Any questions regarding these details, feel free to PM.

• An understanding of Pokemon in general is needed, definitely need to know the Pokemon of the different regions at minimum (from Kanto to Alola and more).
• This is just a personal preference so please respect it: I prefer to roleplay with female partners.
• Be willing to play multiple characters and both genders. Yes, we would have "main characters," but what's a good story without side characters and antagonists, right?
• Using real life faces and real life locations/aesthetics is something that I thoroughly enjoy in most of my RPs. I'm not against anime faces though, it's just something I enjoy as I like diverse representation for the characters I write.
• Consistent communication and posting is a deal breaker for me. The best way to reach me is via PM or Discord (my preference) and I'm not that difficult to get in contact with usually. I would hope you are accessible as well in case something happens in real life.
• I don't have a specific "word count" as it varies depending on the circumstances, but I will say that I write "a lot." Multiple paragraphs and vivid descriptions are standard for me so I would hope that you would do the same. One liners or one paragraph posts irk me.
• I have no limits in regards to romance and mature themes, it would just have to take place under the appropriate platform as it relates to RP Guild's rules. Questions about that can be discussed in PM and/or Discord.

Hopefully I covered everything I'm looking or that you guys would have questions about referring to overall housekeeping stuff. Anyway, on to some of the plot details.

The goal of this RP would be, obviously, a long term playing out of our characters' time at a Pokemon Academy (for the sake of this request, we'll call it Elite Academy, name could be pending depending on our conversations). To that end, I'd love to take some themes from other series like Harry Potter, Yu-Gi-Oh GX and Percy Jackson and implement them into the RP. Throwing in corruption, mysteries, angst, drama, romance, action, adventure, etc. is such a huge deal for me as it keeps my interest throughout the RP. The age range is up for discussio (teens or young adults in college). Again, we can iron out the specific plot details later as we connect one-on-one.

A question that could potentially come up is opening up this RP for multiple players. I'm weary of that honestly and would only do that for one extra person (so a 1x1x1). For this to happen, I would need to be blown away by another person's writer such that I would want to add them to the plot. This would probably need to be taken care of prior to the posting of the actual RP game in the appropriate section, but I don't necessarily expect this to go beyond a one on one RP as I find that easier in managing this specific RP.
