Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 12-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing.

I've been writing and roleplaying in Dutch and English since 2002. I joined the RolePlayer Guild in 2014 and since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

There are times I don't have much creative energy and will be silent for a while, but in the very least I will try to keep the writing contests going.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. Genuinly, I sometimes need reminders that you are waiting for a reply. I don't ghost on purpose, I promise. Time is just a weird thing sometimes, and if something happened 3 days ago, 3 weeks ago or 3 months ago can feel pretty much the same and I often don't realize how much time passed since my last reply. And if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab there is a good chance I might forget I was supposed to reply because I lost the visual reminder T_T

The other contests pushed this one from the main page and I admit I kinda forgot to write something. Luckily there is still time before the deadline!
Time to get writing.
Andy went to the counter to order two menu's.
"You're buying a meal for him?" the man behind the counter asked.
"Yes. Why?"
"He was here, earlier. Didn't know what I meant when I said he could get whatever if wanted as long as he paid for it." As he put the burgers wrapped in paper and fries in a cardboard box on the plastic platter, he went on about a drunk guy the other day who asked for taco's and couldn't understand they didn't sell them here, but that he had to be at the taco place further down the street. Andy nodded and agreed and paid for the meal when it was ready. The comment about Alastor was far more interesting than the random drunk guy story, he had plenty of encounters with those and probably had stories that were more amusing than this anecdote.

With the platter in his hands, Andy went to the table Alastor had chosen. "Despite what they advertise," he said as he put the platter down, "their Royal Deluxe is not a burger fit for a king." He took a seat and pointed to the burgers. "This on the other hand... their Barbeque Burger is the best they have to offer. Not really made on a barbeque of course," he added with a laugh and he sat down to unwrap his burger. "So, burger, fries, and a milkshake. Banana. You will thank me." He picked his burger up, ready to bite down. "Oh and it's my treat, I paid for it all, so don't worry about it."

As he talked he kept an eye on Alastor, to see how he would react to any of it.
Mr. Johnson looked at Carl and nodded. That was what he wanted to hear and Carl seemed genuine with his words. "If our non-human colleagues cause trouble, what do you think would the best course of action be?" he asked, deliberately not asking if Carl was willing to kill them. It was best to stay vague on his own intentions and allow them to fill in the answer themselves to see how their loyalty to humans were.
Morrison, Barrow, those were two agents he knew he could trust and his gutfeeling told him Carl could be trusted too, but he had to find out what his origin was.

Benjamin nodded as he started to walk to the exit. "Can you ask the department to copy the information and send it to mr. Johnson of the Paranormal Investigations?" he asked. "I'm sure our department of the government is known in the police force. It is one of his agents that could be in danger, he needs to know. And those gems are something we should be dealing with, not the police."
"Train those wings, little one," Mabel said, lazily opening an eye. "If the muscles in your wings get stronger, you may have the strenght to lift your body weight from the ground." She examined the wings on the Charmander. "Now I do wonder if you'd end up with four wings if you were to evolve into your final form, because that's when in your line a set of wings is formed."
It was a curious thought, but as she understood it wasn't even a certainty he would evolve. Only time could tell.

"Sure, yeah," Mindy said. She gestured to the clothing booths. "You try them on, I'll check to see if there are any outdoor shops nearby." She took her phone and started to type in keywords to see if this city had a shop like that, and if so where it would be. It wasn't long before her keywords got the result she needed and she examined to map to see how they could get there.

"James?" Penepoly asked and put a hand over her mouth as she gasped. "I guess I didn't wait for him again, he's probably looking for me now. I will look for him later." She peeked through the clothes to have a look at Gavin and Mindy. "So he's interested in her?" She giggled. "I thought this day would never come!"

"If they want to stay out, sure," Michael said. He didn't have that many Pokémon anyway, and Saruya was the biggest of them all. And Bear and Benny had no choice, his uncle had their Pokéballs with him.
Saruya joined them. "Are we going for a walk?" she asked.
"A walk and maybe a gym battle, if anyone wants to."
[i]"Yes!" Anthony said as he settled on Michael's shoulder. "I want to try!"
"Okay," Michael said and he looked at where Missy was. "Missy! Do you want to do a gym battle too?"

When they reached the hotel, Andy walked to the revolving door, but stopped before going through it. "Come here, Varina," he said. "It will be easier if I carry you. Kim, you go in already."
Kim nodded and got on her hind legs. With her paws she pushed on the door and walked as it moved, stepping into the lobby on the other side.
For now I'll keep the warden as someone the staff talks about, but rarely shows himself to the patients. Vivian will be the main evildoer.
"You could ask her," Marc said as he nodded his head sideways, to let Sara know the psychiatrist was standing in the doorway to observe everyone. It wasn't unlike her to do so at random times, so her pressence wasn't much of a surprise. He watched Benjamin bring his own things back to the cart. It was almost strange to see him behave so normal, even though he had those hallucinations he just refused to treat.
He looked at Carol again, he always took care of her when he was here. He had witnessed her decline and enter this catatonic state of which she didn't seem able to break free. It was really sad.

After Benjamin put his platter away he looked around to see what else he could do, but then he realized the staff probably wouldn't be okay with doing too much of the things he wasn't supposed to do. As if boredom was part of the treatment.
"Can I help?" he asked one of the female nurses.
"No, you can go back to your seat. We'll hand out dessert soon."
"Yeah, I noticed the standard pudding wasn't on the tray."
"It's the wardens birthday. You get a slice of cake. Now sit down."
Benjamin decided he didn't want to be barked at for trying to help, so he went back to the table with Ray. He saw Dia wasn't in the body anymore and Ray wasn't here, so it seemed Ray was in control. "How does it feel to have a full stomach?" he asked her.
@CitrusArmsThe Wingull made a faint sound, but otherwise it didn't look like it was regaining consciousness.

@Cio@SaleneaThe Spinarak seemed to make pleased noises as they saw the human with the Bulbasaur retreat. They kept a close eye on the Pokémon near them, ready to attack with Poison Sting if they got too close.

@JrVaderYou see something glitter in the sunlight, something is lying on the side of the road.
*cracks knuckles*

1) A pearl is lying on the ground.
2) A Pidgey accidentally smacks into you and flies away.
3) Lucky you, a small pouch with a bit of money.
4) A wild Beedrill considers you a threat, you better run.
5) Is that a potion on the side of the road?
6) Didn't you see that rock? You trip and fall.

The result is 5! https://www.roleplayerguild.com/rolls/14509
Thanks JrVader :)

Who is planning on doing a gym battle? Or would anyone want a random event for their character?
Whenever people are bored, I can roll an event and let fate decide if it will be something good like finding an item, or bad like being attacked by a Pokémon.

Edit, also, everyone is free to play nurse Joy for healing Pokémon,
Trevor groaned. Great, not one, but all three heirs were here. If the truth had been spoken. He looked at the Hermit, who seemed rather amused by it all.

"It's not unlikely that traumatic events block certain memories," the hermit spoke. "If you don't remember how your siblings looked back then, I can imagine it's hard to recognise them now. But I recognised each of you." He looked from Damien to Noble. "Rai is correct, she is your sister and you two are her brothers. And one of you will have to come forward to claim the throne. The honour usually befalls the oldest, but I don't mind who the heir to the throne will be, as long as you three all agree. And then you have to decide on a course of action. Will you gather an army and go to war? Will you go with a small team to assassinate the king? And don't forget someone must bring the small water dragon to the sea."

Mikhal stared at the three riders, but when Gnol spoke he snapped out of it and turned his head to face him. "Yes, I heard it all. The Tale Of The Three Heirs. I think that is what the title will be." He noticed he was holding something and looked at his bowl of soup. He quickly dipped his spoon in it to eat it, with everything going on he had forgotten all about it.

Rachel stared at Damien, all this time they knew each other and she had had no clue who he really was. "You could have told us," she said. "The Silver Order would have helped you. I would have helped you."

Meria listened to everything, but she didn't pay much attention to the conversation. While the revalation was unexpected, there was something more important. The heirs all had dragons and by the sound of it loyal followers. The water dragon had no-one, that was her responsibility.
"I'll be travelling to the sea," she said. "I could try to find the dragon sanctuary too, let the dragons know we're going to fight back and need more help. That if the new king is defeated they can return home."

The old dragon looked at Meria. "They won't allow humans in," he rumbled. "And I can't fly there. But the sea dragons could speak for you if you return their offspring to them."
He had lived long enough to see dragons and humans at war with each other, then the peace between them, and now dragons were once again hunted down. That had to stop. "I will do what I can to help. I say we burn the castle to the ground. Problem solved."
Trevor looked at the dragon. That was a strategy he could agree with.

"Wrong," the general said. "You will be fed soon, don't worry. We have some humans in prison, criminals and a couple of dragon riders awaiting execution. I can send them here so you can feast on them." He made a small bow for the king. "We have a possible location for the last hiding dragon riders, I will send our squad of dragon slayers to kill the dragons and their riders. Do I have your permission to send the condemned men here instead of the gallows?"
