• Emblem: A tattoo formed between the nape of her neck and the valley of her breasts. Doesn't bother to conceal it.

• Devil Arm: A gunslinger playing around with a water gun in either hand, their streams cleaning the darkness from monsters and making the world a brighter place with every pull of the trigger. But cold cynicism and practicality turned the toys into the genuine article, now twin machine pistols which discharge lead that creates far more messes then could ever hope to be scoured away.

• Magic: Kanbaru's ice magic had once been a novelty, the sort to create patches along the ground to make a monster stumble and bluster while she blasted away or make a ramp to slide in upon in a suitably heroic fashion. Now the once crystalline ice is blackened and brackish, burning through sheer cold to the touch and growing jagged around the edge. Projectiles, spikes, and cages are the name of the game now, though she does enjoy leaving patches of black ice on the road for obvious reasons.

• Background: Kanbaru's fall from grace came from a simple realization she came upon out of the blue; Her work as a Magical Girl amounted to nothing. She could claim to be more physically fit and certainly there were the magical powers she enjoyed, but being a good person gained her nothing but missed time with friends and family, an endless litany of excuses for her absence that grew increasingly tiresome to everyone around her, and the combined mental and physical exhaustion which accumulated over the years.

And what did she have to show for it? This certainly didn't improve her academics any, and no one would put Magical Girl on a resume. It wasn't like she was saving the world single handily, so she had no great destiny shackling her to this moniker. What began as a thought spiraled into an epiphany which left her disillusioned with the notion of such altruistic pursuits, especially as she grew older and entered her last years of high school. Looking around the city it was far too apparent that the only way to get ahead was not to let yourself be crushed pushing the next guy up. Why should she be working for free just so people who would never know her deeds can go on and leave her to rot? Why couldn't she take what she earned through blood, sweat, and monumental effort?

After a visit from a certain Mascot, Kanbaru had the out she so desired.

• Inventory: Her motorcycle. While the Detention Club has a strict no killing clause, theft when practiced with discretion is given a bit more latitude. Taken off a transport truck in the midst of transit to avoid the security of a dealership, it's used solely for Magical Girl business to leave no connection to her mundane life. Also works as a conduit for ice magic, leaving ice slicks or conjuring ramps before it's wheels as needed.

Sample Post

The depth and breadth of freedom offered to a Magical Girl was astonishing when one cast aside the childish morality that tied there hands. The weapons, the magic, and the bonds forged with like minded magical girls were a rush that little could compare, but on one particularly muggy night, Kanbaru reveled in the exclusion from sight her Magical Girl form gave her. Sweat clung to the back of her neck from the steam and heat pooling in the kitchen of a well off Chinese take out place, but she paid it no mind, and in turn, none of the bustling staff paid mind to figure in the corner.

She'd called ahead on and placed a sizable order to someone else's address. More appetizers then she could stomach and entrees to fill in for a holiday feast. Some of it wasn't even food she liked, but she ordered it anyway, because it would take more time prepare. Already most of the order was finished, bagged up and waiting for the full order to be carried off and delivered.

And those look to be my dumplings. Time to carry out. The pragmatic Magical Girl thought, pushing away from the wall and skirting the staff to scoop up the ponderous brown paper bags stuffed to near bursting with fragrant fast food. Not an eye turned her way and none would do so as she stepped out the front door and took to the streets with a spring in her steps.

It wouldn't be long till the delivery driver noticed he had no order to pick up, but who would they blame? A customer sneaking in and swiping it from under the many eyes of a cramped kitchen? No. Clearly an employee screwed up. Someone lied. Someone stole. They may not act on it that night, but the seeds of distrust were sown and Kanbaru didn't need to try hard to imagine the changes in staff that would come soon enough. It didn't even warrant a shrug on her part. Her fridge would be full for the week, and she'd hit up the next delivery joint on her list before cycling back there in a few months.

"Ah, before I forget." She mused aloud, pulling out her phone and redialed the last number called. "Pearl Garden? Hi, I'd like to cancel my order."

• Other: Lives with her sister Rika, her cat, Noire, and her sister's dog, Ruxen. Despite being a greedy and selfish individual after her change of heart, she tries to keep herself of two minds, one for the house, and one for the rest of the world.

Personality: She's a women of character and class, with a gravitas that demands attention and leaves no question as to how she alone was fit to lead her nation. Semiramis indulges in the finer things of life as due her station, and is bereft of such petty notions as humility and restraint. Yet as she lavishes in her fine silk she aspires to ever greater heights, bringing conquests and their riches to create ever flourishing and vibrant cities. Her nation is her greatest treasure, a garden carefully tended to the adulation and applause of her subjects.

Semiramis knows what is best, and she has the unshakable confidence to convince others of that fact as she carries them forward like minnows in the wake of a shark. Whether she convinces with a smile, a few choice words, a knocked arrow, or the promise of army intervention is by and large a matter of personal preference, one she leaves vague for a measure of amusement.

Bio: The legends of Semiramis are more varied then one can imagine, their views of the ancient Queen stained or polished by her relations with the story tellers land. A poisonous harlot who spread idolatry and was motivated by her lusts above all else to some, while to others, she was a savior who took power amidst turmoil and brought prosperity in its place. Born and abandoned by the Syrian Fish Goddess, she was cared for by doves till being discovered as a babe by the Royal Shepard.

Semiramis was known for her beauty, yet her renown spread far when she was married to a general of King Ninus, for whom brought great victory with words of sound advice. His crowning and final glory came when Semiramis herself took to the field of battle and captured a pivotal point in the enemies defensive formation, leading to their surrender. A women of such beauty, guile, and unprecedented bravery quickly stole the heart of King Ninus who demanded her hand in marriage. Caught between devotion to King and Spouse, the general took his life, and Assyria had its Queen.

The Queen would come to power fully when an arrow claimed the King's life and, their son being too young, pushed her into the regency. Rumors persisted that the Queen, seeking to consolidate the power for herself, had arranged for the archer herself. To disabuse such notions she would frequently demonstrate her own skill with the weapon in the ensuing campaigns to expand the nations territory was adequate to have done the job herself. Opposition to an openly female Regent was always fierce, yet she responded with success heaped upon success amidst a 42 year reign, with public works ranging from rebuilding the city and walls of Babylon to raising great temples and public works from border to border....minus one blunder in India involved camels, bison hide, and imaginary elephants. And though she claimed many lives, from foreigners she could never hope to pronounce to dear sweat Nimrod, she never lost a nights sleep over the sacrifices required.

She abdicated her throne to her son at the end of her reign, and retired to her villa, content in the knowledge her works would outlive even as her name was twisted alongside them through the ages.

Appearance: Having been vilified especially fierce by fringe elements among the Church in their crusade on polytheistic cultures and paganism, her appearance upon summoning has been distorted by the public views of her name.

Personality: Richard has always been a grounded man among the idealists of the moonlit world with their grand aspirations for the Root. He has the interest to pursue his magecraft, but it is not the all consuming desire the dictates the lives of his contemporaries. His interests are often more inclined towards the practical aspects of supporting a fourth generation magus household, often through making small, sensible loans to upstart businesses catering to the Magus community as well as enterprising students with little funds of their own, in exchange for compensation, monetary or academic, further down the line.

This has earned Richard no love from his betters whose paranoia might lead one to believe he were laying the framework for a grand scheme to influence the young and prosperous of the moonlit world, but he doesn't mind the wild speculation and in fact takes no small measure of amusement from it. Bearing the visage of a modern businessman alongside the scars of a magus who has pushed against the borders of his favored craft with unpredictable results, most who talk to him find Richard pleasant, but harmless to them or their interests. He converses with a welcoming air about him, sometimes revealing glimpses of a self depreciating sense of humor oft unseen in prideful magi. Holds the belief that he has averted more attempts upon his own life, limb, and research through dialogue then any duel of mysteries.

Bio: Born to a family of respectably moderate age and enough holdings not to be deemed destitute by their peers, Richard was expected to be the one who would provide his family with something to distinguish themselves among the moonlit world. To the families chagrin, he did nothing of the sort. Entering into the Clocktower at a reasonable age, unlike those child prodigies who had their first research grant at 10, he labored well enough to succeed in all his classes though never excelling enough to be singled out by instructors for special attention. There was a hope that he would find his spark of genius among the more cut throat departments of the Clocktower or seclude himself in isolation like the mad Magus' who concocted grand machinations away from prying eyes.

Then he joined the Archaeology Department (Researching the levels of ambient prana found in the air through the ages), the department known for being so far removed from an Magus Association conflicts that they didn't even shoot their trespassers on sight, and the family promptly abandoned all expectations for their heir to put them on the map. Richard was delighted by this news, and continued to work in relative peace and fostered connections among the very department noted for also producing Touka Aozaki, Souren Araya, and Cornelius Alba.

General Magecraft: While not exceptional, he is well versed in his general studies and can perform the basics feats of any moderately proficient mage without issue.

Structural Grasping: Due to the nature of his magecraft as well as his employment, Richard has invested a great deal of time into the basic magecraft related to the understanding of materials compositions, Structural Grasping. Not to say he has wholly mastered the art and all its secrets, but is skilled enough to grasp the chemical composition of the air around him for twenty meters in all directions.

Alchemy: While the Clocktower is not as renowned for its Alchemists as another prestigious institution is, there are more then enough magi who are proficient in the magical chemistry. Alchemy pertains to the re-arranging of substances and materials into different forms through means of combustion, distillation, prana infusion, etc.

Manipulation of Matter's Third State: By suffusing any sufficiently understood gas, smoke, or airborne particulates with his own prana, Richard can thus manipulate it to his will as though an impromptu familiar, though the gases have no will beyond what Montag makes of it. Note, this does not confer control after changing from a gas state to a liquid or a solid, even if Richard is capable of performing that transition.

Mystic Codes:
Gentlemen's Cigar Case: A slim silver case holding twelve hand rolled cigars, with its exterior emblazoned with a raised M in a stylized font. While serving an obvious practical purpose, the case's mystical role is to draw contaminants and assorted noxious gases from the air and infuse them into the cases contents, altering the cigars into potent toxic weapons when burned to create manipulable smoke clouds. This process occurs passively but should Montag actively wield the Case he could draw the air to it like a vacuum, allowing him to accumulate greater mass to manipulate.

Ocular Spectrometer: Glasses capable of seeing across a broad spectrum of light, offering greater insight into the natural and mystical portions of life around him. Useful for providing insight into the matter with which he works with.

The Firebrand's Lighter: A similarly silver lighter to match the Gentleman's Case, this lighter does not just produce a tiny flame for lighting cigars, but also a ten foot long whip of flame Richard uses to defend his person while his gases do their work.

Danni had really whiffed that throw on her part. What should have been a solid hurl into Mako's center mass, resulting in a tumble and tangle of limbs as Circe re-asserted her human form in time to make the most of the collision, really just amounted to nothing more then pissing the shifter off.

Now in most cases the fork lifts at max acceleration would have beaten out any foot bound pursuer, given the Imps were familiar with the area and no doubt had laid out insidiously mundane traps to slow down pursuers so they could cleanly escape. But none of those plans accounted for a cheetah being their pursuer. And thus Danni found herself tackled from her vehicle and briefly crushed beneath oh so much fur, before even that gave way to boot, sword, and copious amounts of insults being directed at her.

"Hey, you try getting running water out here when we ain't paying the utility bills. It's hard enough stealing cable, oh ho!" The lead Imp fired back with only a faint tremble of concern in her mischievous voice, one which was made a bit more apparent by the struggling of her hands to dislodge the boot from her figure.

And this only accelerated in it's vigor as she saw the approaching vampire marching towards them. "Q-Questions? I'm not answering any questions till I see a lawyer. I'm just a law ignoring hooligan and you are trespassing on my claimed territory."

Though as Danni fidgeted and blathered on in her defense, the last Imp made good on the lack of pursuers and escaped the lot, banking hard before disappearing around the corner of another warehouse and darting away towards wherever the Imps intended to flee in the first place.

I'd think under these circumstances it may be fitting to give Ryo some latitude to rework their CS if they wanted Sonia to have a new power set, within reason, since this was something of a mistake on GMs part to allow in the first place. Correct? Otherwise it would be a power lost for nothing and all after being approved in the first place via lapse in judgement.
