@BrokenPromise

I am deeply sad to have missed my chance to respond to that 4th of July weekend is hectic and I wouldn’t have had a chance to respond till Thursday
Well they do work. It’s not her fault she’s surrounded by quirky friends.

Kanbaru Otoko

Complete and utter failure met Kanbaru.

Oh, sure, the JSTR didn't care and got what it wanted, but Kanbaru had failed to collar Nephuna. Failed to carry through on her promise. In the chaotic melee there was hardly room for personal attachments, too many souls clashing and vying for their moment, but it chaffed at the JSTR host nonetheless. A moment of infinitude passed, and they struck painfully against an unyielding ground and stared into a night sky streaked with strobing lights and far, far too much gold.

That nothing was truly harmed from the fall was indication enough this was not a purely chaotic event, the transition to a floor at least showing a measure of control where the Whale rose to her feet and adjusted her hat as she sweeped her gaze across the Floor before her. Between the JSTR's contentment and her own knowledge it struck her immediately as to where they were, and she felt a small part of her want to groan miserably.

But the rest was at ease, a sense of home and belonging wafting from the floor and enveloping her as closely as her own cloak. Her hand rose before her face, Nephy contained in effigy before her and Kanbaru smiled with no small note of bitterness. "There's still no sun, but I've brought you the night sky."

She whirled dramatically upon the motley crew of companions, andnoting with some confusion that Akiko hadn't landed with them before brushing it off. Given the floor, she probably fell into a dressing room or some den of debauchery. Then she perked up, noticing Katie and her Vassals were also gone, saving them from being swarmed instantly by association.

"Alright people, we've officially left the Abyss. That's the good news. The bad news is we're on my home turf, and I don't think it'll react well to...most of you." The whale chirped with undue cheer, turning to Thomas, and bending sharply at the waste before flicking his nose. "And you, young man, are going to see a lot of scandalous women who are going to offer you a great many things to get your attention. If you value what little freedom Marianne leaves you, just say no."

"Remember people, the Bunnies are here to make sure we. Never. Leave. So, don't drink anything, don't even vaguely mention wanting to gamble, or you will probably never leave this place with ownership of your own skin and soul~!" Yup, it was a super homey feeling for Kanbaru, and home was where the heart was. Currently in the clutches of a multidimensional shark nun program driving her to engineer the apotheosis of friend and foe alike! "Granted, that is literally no different then a normal casino, but it's good to keep in mind. Especially for Thomas. Keep those eyes above chest level, young man!"

The lessons were concluded for the night, or so Burning Heart believed, her attention pulled from peers and students to find what should have been a lesson was more a spectator sport. How embarrasing would it have been had they failed miserably with so many seniors and peers watching over them? The vulpine Magical Girl shuddered and chose to hop off of Xolys shoulder as more new faces came from stand and shadow alike to either introduce themselves or peruse them like one does a merchant's wares.

With a slow blink, Burning Heart stopped, reconsidering that maybe her sour impressions of, well, the entire landmass of England and all therein, was making her a touch paranoid. Her transformation unfurled around her, a swirl of flame the rose dispersed on the wind to leave skittish, old Suzuya in her place. In Xolys shadow. Her heart slammed into her throat and she nearly bit her tongue stiffling the imminent urge to shriek.

But...she knew he wasn't slimy. That counted for a lot, even without her Grimoire girding her will actively, and she tentatively reached her hand out. Just a pat, light and brief as though expecting to bitten, before withdrawing to her side. She'd touched him, and he was most definetly dry! The blonde perked up, imaginary ears wiggling atop her head before she remembered she wasn't a fox at the moment- Err, at all!

"I think I can sleep without transforming tonight..." She murmured, hands curling under her chin as pulled her sweater to hide the excited flush of her cheeks and the giddy pull to her lips. There was a pleased warmth coming from her Grimoire, and she wondered if she actually needed a tuner to get in touch with it.
They haven't withdrawn fully, they're just a little uncertain where to inset themselves right now. So I expect them to be back after a short time skip.
@ShadowSunRisen
Small edit to my last post to show Suzuya is considering the task and unhappy about it.
I’d poke Val to see about creating a robot horse, Riku, but the prospect of Grimoire upgrades is a rather big deal for any Magical Girl.

I’ll poke the German later.

PS: Kinda thought she already left in the Volkswagen
Merlin: Questions how a summoned familiar is a team leader and even more so how he's so effective at coordinating the team to the top of the teamwork charts. "How does he even manage all the paperwork..."

Burning Heart was not lacking for confidence and mounted Xolys with firm steps bolstered by the use of his convenient tendrils and spines. It was the farthest from riding a horse once could imagine, but he made for an excellent steed all the same as she stood upon his shoulders, a corona of alien color firing on the periphery of her vision as she took wind and blasted the wasp. The rush of the wind enveloped her, flaming tails flickering like candles while her ears fluffed up visibly under the whirlwind of aerial motion.

And Suzuya had yet to feel more connected with her Tome then that moment, flaming ballista launched in tandem of blasts of unreality while Olivia played the role of charming princess cheering them on in Xolys arms. Truly Tomoe Gozen was an unmatched warrior in the saddle, and though it wasn't quite right, it was a far sight better then taking to the field on her feet.

A shame then that their coordination didn't extend beyond the three of them, the wasp falling more to random chance then true cohesion in the group of admitted strangers, and the substitute was more then prepared to level her critique upon them. The rush of combat dimmed to a pleasant after glow and she settled on Xolys shoulder, one hand against his lamprey like head while the other idly stroked an errant tendril, finding it was rather dry and smooth to the touch.

It was here that an associate of the Substitute approached and offered a service that made the unflappable Burning Heart drop her jaw and nearly fall from her perch if she didn't envelop Xolys neck with her tails like a fluffy, heated scarf as she choked on her tongue.

"The Ministry has someone who can permeantently enhance Grimoires and this is the first we hear of it? Does it cost our first born children?" Burning Heart exclaimed with no small measure of incredulity, staring at Drossel before turning to Olivia. "I suppose Good Hope does the same in the short term, but this seems odd to only hear of now. Though I suppose I could do with growing closer to my Grimoire. Hmm, I do wonder how you two could grow closer. Perhaps Xolys can learn to sing in harmony with you and bolster our spirits with the beauty of your love?"

It sounded corny to Burning Hearts own ear, but the Grimoire was ever the romantic and looking down at Olivia curled tenderly to Xolys chest made her chest ache for the same.

The warm and prickly moment would have to pass, as the explosive German did in fact leave them with an ultimatum even the prospect of further attuning with her Grimoire couldn't overshadow for long. She glowered instead at the rampant battle mania as she pushed them into the prospect of a tag team battle against her, and required them to just up and form partnerships based on a few days of associations in some cases. Or less, for those like herself and that scottish lass.

"Hmm, we shall see, sensei." The fox said with an intent glare, crossing her arms before turning away to consider what would undoubtedly be another poorly conceived and life threatening attempt at forcing cooperation. Maybe that Bhakti girl was on to something...

Oh sure, I’ll post today. Got caught up waiting for some posts elsewhere so I could make a day of responding but that’s just silly at this point
