Green Goblin shows up to the Parker residence, shoots Peter, stripping him naked and taking photographs all while Peter bleeds out. Then he kidnaps Aunt May, and makes her see the pictures over and over again to try and prove all it takes is one bad day to turn a man into a monster.
Spider-Man saves the day, Aunt May recovering but in therapy however Peter is paralyzed from the waist down, never able to walk again and blames Gwen for everything that happened to him and his Aunt. Combined with the death of Uncle Ben, Peter reaches his breaking point and cuts Gwen out of his life, leaving the Spider-Woman alone as he feels.
