Some people need to make a hard choice when deciding which two karaoke streams they want to listen to. I have no such weakness: I have two ears for a reason.

The hard part about trying to play some politically savvy mastermind is the assumption that the world operates off real world politics and not your DM’s politics.

Don't put too much stock in prophesies. At best they're full of shit, but more often than not they're one of those self-fullilling kinds. Plan for what happens afterwards instead.

A character isn't deep or compelling just because you let them get hurt a lot, are always depressed, or do morally questionable things.

If you're here either you're wondering what I'm doing cause I need to post in your RP (In which case, calm yo tits, I'll get around to it), or you want to know who I am. So let's begin.

I'm a college age asian kid who has more heart than he has senses. I'm still working out this whole "adulthood" thing, so until then I just do what I feel I must. As far as personality and traits go, I'm not one for boasting. So if there's anything redeeming about myself you'd have to figure it out in person or by word-of-mouth. Generally however I'm rather perverted, in the best and worst ways. nothing is too much until I've crossed the line, and that just means I've started.

As far as Roleplays I like, I have a thing for fantasy, though I'm also good for some types of sci-fi, supernatural, Modern, and slice-of-life. If it's open and sandbox, I'll probably join it. Never really been a romantic, I often chose to sexualize any notion of romantic encounters I come across. I generally write at Casual quality, though I have no issues with Free-Level Rp/Players and I can hold my own in Advance.

Goro was glad to see his gift taken so well. The immortal even shared it with everyone! It actually made Goro a bit excited as he received his own plate of fruit. Carefully he picked up a sliced and ate it. It was a crunchy texture, but juicy and sweet. Very delicious. But as he ate his pieces of pineapple, it made him feel morose. This was a nice fruit and all but... Was this it? Just a sweet delectable? It didn't grant immortality, or massive strength, or some profound wisdom. It was just fruit. People have died for goddamn fruit. But Goro did his best to keep these emotions inside of him. He didn't want Winter to know the blood, sweat, and tears that went into getting this. Sure, it might impress her, but for Goro it was just a harsh reminder of the stupid sacrifices he did for people who don't deserve it.

He was glad to move onto business once a third and apparently final member of the newcomers arrived. Barely here for an hour and already they had work to do! Goro at least was glad to not be idle. But than something dawned on him. This study, this research, it required a lot of writing. Goro didn't know how to write, at least not the common tongue. He was taught how to write using orcish script, specifically the style used by the Storm Eye tribe that created Ulayh. In that he was perfectly fluent and would even fancy himself a writer. But in the language of man? He barely knew how to speak it. Goro glanced between the others and to Winter, and steeled his resolve. He was the only orc here; he couldn't let himself look like a fool for not adapting to human lands. He knew what humans thought of his kind. How his own kind thought of each other. That they were nothing but brutes and savages. But Goro knew better. They could be as cunning and devious as any mortal. He'll figure out something.

Receiving a codex Goro bowed his head slightly. "I'm honored dat yer gunna let us greehorns do sumthing dis important so quickly! Truth be told, was a might worried dat yer gunna make us sit in a dimmly lit room fer a couple months doin nuthin but readin. I've always been more of a hands-on kinda orc meself anyways." He wasn't sure what they had available for writing. Normally Goro just used charcoal. They had ink back at Ulayh, but it was far too expensive for the casual kind of writing he did. There was also the issue of what they could expect in Bay'kin, a place that Goro has never been before. "So Lady Winter, wots at Bel'kin? I imagine dat it ain't just sum barren lands. Any sorta trouble ye be expectin us ta run into while we're doin out thing?"
Much to Marchosias' surprise, his opponent wasn't dead. He already knew that this one was different but even he was surprised to see how this one managed to suffer rather minimal wounds even from his Reflected Blows. "Damn, he must be a dodge tank. That's the only reason he could have possibly avoided my reflected blows if he has some sort of auto dodge ability." Marchosias knew there were other dangers nearby as well, but this one seemed the most intent to battle him directly, so the executioner would have to focus on him. His Full Cover was still on cooldown but he could still parry with his cleaver, though doing so would prevent Marchosias from launching his own attack. And he knew that between a tank-vs-tank battle, the one who can do the most damage is the one who'll come out on top. Trying to outlast someone who plays that same gambit as yourself will just put you at a disadvantage.

There was another advantage that Marchosias had over this guy. He appeared to be a martial artist, while Marchosias had his cleaver. Yggdrasil realistic combat took account for such things, including reach; if Marchosias could land a blow before this guy could land his punch, that would be as good as stopping the attack dead. Though he could avoid the strike, it would likely also mean evading and canceling his own attack, also leaving Marchosias safe. In theory at least. Frankly Marchosias didn't know enough about this guy to determine what his abilities could be so he might easily be able to counter the executioner's counter, but Marchosias was fairly confident he would survive regardless.

Marchosias focused himself and swung towards the pugilist. First he targeted him with his Challenge ability, which would increase Marchosias's damage and accuracy, hopefully to offset any dodge chance this guy had. Next he activated his Furious Focus, increase the damage of his strike exponentially. And because it was his first attack, Marchosias won't have any accuracy penalties for it. He swung downwards towards the fighter, aiming to cleave him from head-to-toe, and hopefully kill him before his punch would land. Otherwise all Marchosias could do would be taking the blow head on and hope his armor and defensive buffs would allow him to survive the attack and retaliate.

When Goro arrived to the City of Lights, all he had was a backpack full of meager supplies, his trousers, a pair of leather boots, his trusty cudgel, and the faint hope that this was a good idea. Parting from home wasn't easy either emotionally or physically, since what he did was tantamount to treason. If he tried to go back home now at best he'll be put into chains and forced into slave labor for the rest of his days. Else they might kill him, or worse, his family. All the more reason Goro needs to take advantage of this opportunity and learn all he can so he can change things back at home. Possible even the whole world. It was a long shot but dammit what else could he do? He was as good as dead either way. At least this way he could go out with a bang.

Goro certainly felt out of place in the city. He's seen few orcs during his travels, and those at least dressed like the locals. Goro stuck out like a sort thumb. Or in his case, a missing limb. When he catches someone's eye he always sees their eyes looking at his hook hand. It wasn't their fault; such a thing was unusual even back at home. He's fortunate to have a brother who's so handy at these sort of things or else he'd have a lot more trouble out here. With any luck learning magic might help him restore his hand, or even make it better. One could hope. Still he had to endure judgmental looks combined with his orcish features made him more of an outcast than he already was in human societies. Suppose he should be happy they at least never heard of Ulayh. He might've lived there for his whole life but it doesn't take a learned scholar to know that slavery isn't something all people approve of at face value.

When he found a town guard, he was initially hesitant. While most haven't caused him any trouble, his experience with the guards back in his hometown painted the lot of them as power hungry and corrupt. Even outside of Ulayh they always seemed suspicious of him, and Goro's eagerness to leave them as soon as possible didn't help paint him innocently. So it was a pleasant change where these guards seemed professional enough to give him no grief and direct him to where he needed to go promptly. While Goro was still on edge, he didn't cause any trouble as he let them guide him to the Ancient Tower. Traveling the road and watching the city around him made Goro feel a slight unease, but not necessarily out of danger but simply awe. Most of the towns he passed by didn't look too dissimilar to Ulayh so he never felt particularly impressed with them. But here... It was hard to imagine that this place was on the same world as his own. For starters there were so many lights here! Before the only light at night would either be from the moon or torches from a patrolling guard. But here the streets were well illuminated. And the streets weren't dirt or cobble either, but stolid stone. No pits or puddles. It made Goro wonder if this island is actually the back of a dragon turtle' his father would tell tales of ancient cities on the back of such creatures.

As the guard continued to take Goro through the city, soon he took him out of the city. Goro was immediately on guard; at least within the city there would be witnesses if this guard decides to take advantage of him. But outside, with plenty of cover, away from anyone who might hear the shouting, made Goro hesitant on following. At least there was still a path so he knew he wasn't being led into the middle of nowhere. But his worries were for naught as shortly after leaving they already arrived. The home didn't look particularly different aside from being bigger and having strange mechanical things. This place looked more like his brother's room than the home of an immortal lord.

Of course when he saw her, Goro couldn't help but take notice. "Gods..." Goro has always found humans more physically appealing to him than most orcish women (Doesn't help that most of them remind him of his sisters), but this one was a cut above the rest. However he quickly regained his composure. He didn't want to look like some slack-jawed brute who only thought with his lower head. He bowed his head politely to her and followed her inside. He took a seat when offered and was given a chance to taste coffee. He's heard of it, but never tried any himself. Only the elite warriors in Ulayh were allowed the luxury of it. Eager to taste some himself he nodded. "Gladly." Coffee was... Not bad. It was hot and bitter, like like a warmed wine. It had a certain... Tartness to it, it was hard to describe. Goro at least was able to finish it. Smelled nice.

Winter Valentine. Goro didn't know much about her beyond she was one of the Immortals and lived in Midhaven. He had some vague ideas about her absolute power and such, but he just assumed she was a warlord of some sort. Though looking at her now, dressed like a laborer and mucking about with machinery, it made it hard for Goro to believe she was truly immortal and all powerful and not just some zany looking human. But he knew all too well that one should never judge the waters by the weather (I.e. judge a book by it's cover). Whatever this woman's true motives and personality, it would behoove Goro to make a good first impression. To that end, he would reach into his bag and offer him something that he's been saving since he fled his hometown, and also kinda the other reason he's a deadman there.

"Ah... Yer grace lady Winter, mah name's Goro. Me family calls me Apple though, cuz I love apples. Heh. Eh, I would've offered ye some, but unfortunately I ate most of em during me travels see, wot wif me affinity fer apples. But! I do got sumthin else dat's arguable even better, savin just fer you. From da town of Ulayh even." Goro reached into his bag and carefully unwrapped a strange prickly fruit. He laid it on the table and scooted it closer to Winter. "In me homelands, dis is called da Ocean's Bounty. Said to come from da Heart of da Storm, an island guarded by roaring winds dat can lift a man hundreds of feet in da air, where da waters can rise up to da skies and crush ships like twigs. Fer me, I call it a pineapple. Cuz it's like a pine cone, one of them prickly lookin things from da trees I passed while I was comin ere. And it's an apple cuz I hear it's a tasty fruit, an apples are tasty, so... Yeah."
A damn shame. Activity in general has slowed, not surprising since that tends to happen during an RP’s opening. I’ll reopen applications and see who bites.

Btw boss, is my character good to go?
Aye, I actually intended ya try and address some of those things in that lore doc I sent ya, though with twists of sorts.

For starters the Ulayh Orcs utilize more of an ancestral worship instead of praying to deities of sorts, though they do have some ancient family memebers who have said to ascended to a godlike status. I’m expanding more on this as I can imagine it.

With Ulayh’s penchant for slave labor, the act of farming itself isn’t very well respected since in Ulayh it’s considered Slave work. Not helped by the ruling family purposely spreading this ideal in order to dehumanize (deorcitize?) their Slave population. Land-owners on the other hand are much more respected; since they have to be the ones to not only keep their slaves in line but also defend their lands from raiders, those who own the farms tend to be strong warriors themselves. Indeed, strong warriors tend to own their own land since the current king believes only they are capable of protecting it.

While Might-Makes-Right is still something supported in Ulayh, there’s a twist to it; the current king is trying to change the ancient customs so that you can’t sinply off a guy who disagrees with you, putting in more checks and balances. This he learned from their human allies. Of course this isn’t for any sense of justice or fairness either; this is just a ploy by the ruling class to consolidate power among himself and his allies. This way some upstart or ambitious warrior can’t just come in, challenge him in a fight, get lucky, and become the new king. Basically, they want to make Right-Makes-Might, where the mighty already rule.

Incidentally Ulayh has pride itself for not falling into cannibalism thanks to its prosperous crop growth, trade deals, and success in piracy and raiding. They like to lord over other orc clans who have turned to or had a history of cannibalism as being little more than beasts in the shape of men. Which of course is just another tool to make the general populace of Ulayh show extreme prejudice against slaves, who have turned to cannibalism since their masters would rarely give them enough food to survive. It’s not uncommon for “Slop”, which is the grey goo fed to slaves, being nothing more than the remains of their fellows stewed until it’s form is indistinguishable. Though sometimes it might just be the remains of other creatures, like animal bones, hooves, intestines, etc.
@Thinslayer

You have my axe. Call for me an I shall be there for you! I got lore out the wazzoo and ideas in the brainpan.

It’s fairly bare bones, but I have more details written up elsewhere.

Livia | Katherine

Upon opening the doors, Livia and Katherine would be struck by a cool but refreshing burst of air. Compared to the rest of Underhaven which was musty and humid, the inside of this place was cool but pleasant scented. The place was dimly lit with candles that gave off a golden flame, providing just enough light for Livia to see inside without too much difficulty. There weren’t many patrons here; there was a table with a few strange looking characters, another tables that had a grizzled looking drow man, and a kobold that was cleaning tables and sweeping the floor.

Notably there was no one at the bar. The place seemed to not be open though people o bioisly were allowed to come and go as they pleased. As the two girls would approach the drow man spoke to them. ”If you’re looking for Lucilia she is not here. She has business to attend to on the surface. You’ll ought to wait here or continue your business elsewhere.” The drow man didn’t seem to bother the two girls beyond that, merely sitting at his table and drinking his wine. Another thing to note was that at one of the tables which had a blind girl, a strange looking tiefling, and a pink-haired gnome, was some sort of snake man who appeared to be spitting into glass vials.

Ethan

The men didn’t seem to budge as Ethan tried to explain his case. They looked at him with suspicion as one of the older men whispered something, causing a younger farmer to run back towards the village. ”Whatever your business is, you’d best hurry and finish it. One of our men will accompany you while you’re here. Don’t try nothing. We may seem like farm folk to you, but no one settles into the Frontier if they don’t know how to handle themselves.” The men lowered their weapons but one armed with an axe was assigned to be Ethan’s escort. He seemed a quiet man but would wander any question Ethan had to the best of his ability.

The village itself wasn’t too dissimilar to the previous one, save for the fact this village dealt in different crops, had a bit more live stock, and seemed to have more old folk instead of children. And just like the previous village the main shop here appeared to be one of the more sturdy buildings; while most had wood or dirt huts, this one seemed to be made of proper timber and stone. So it was either a store or the local official’s home.

Much to Orchid's surprise, there wasn't much of a reaction towards her running towards the enemy line. While there were a few spooked creatures coming out from the stonework, they didn't seem to go after her in particular even as she tried to dodge any oncoming attacks. It made Orchid more worried however; perhaps the enemy was merely waiting for her to get close enough for them to attack all at once. She had managed to reach the bonfire which of course was naught but ash now; it wasn't as if she could expect the monsters in this cave to be bothered to maintain the fire. For better or for worse; the goblins were the only ones who had torches so they could navigate these caves, but it also made them an easy target for the monsters capable of attacking from afar. If she could somehow get the bonfire going again the goblins could ditch their torches and hold their ground here where they'd have visibility.

Wasn't long before someone finally came at her. Or rather, revealed themselves to her. Some sort of talking slime; Orchid assumed this one might be someone like herself, brought to this world after an untimely death. At the very least she didn't hear that last slime she killed say anything, let alone question her. She wasn't sure if this slime was present when monsters attacked the goblins, but the fact he's here and not being harassed by the other monsters gave her a good idea that he was part or at least allied with the group. And who knows how many others were here. Orchid wasn't going to stay for long. "Running from? Running towards." Was all she said before Orchid moved further away from the slimes and the goblins, hurling the stone from her sling towards the slime that spoke to her. Even if she didn’t j kw how to use this weapon very well, she surely couldn’t miss at this close of a range. Hit or miss she went further down the tunnel where her previous camp was.
