The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

@OtomostheCrazy Yeah, the other day my friend was saying Grass types are rubbish, but I generally find them really useful. Status effects, healing/draining moves, all-round decent stats, immunity to spores... And they're another type with several secondary typings, which makes up for the weaknesses.

Grass is probably one of the most underrated types, and yeah, I agree that all types have their place.

My favourite, though... I think it's Ghost for the resistances, the status moves, and the creepy factor. Also, Psychic types. They often have pretty good attacking capability, and moves that cover weaknesses. In Black 2, my Espeon could easily wreck Dark types by using Signal Beam.

@Heckno12 PM about possible future event.

@Zarkun

Cici looked down at herself. Scruffy hair hanging in wild tangles over her shoulders, faded baggy jeans, scraped-up boots. She laughed. "I may be a little out of place in there," she said, but followed Tommy towards the building anyway. Even though jazz wasn't the kind of music she usually listened to, it was always good to learn more about different genres.

She'd taken out the second half of her sandwich, and along the way, she munched on it, looking up at the neon sign. The name reminded her that a Chatot was a priority on her list of Pokemon to catch, once she reached the skill level to do so.

Lost in her daydreams about future possibilities, she didn't notice the ball of blue and white fluffy feathers zooming towards her until she felt it tug what was left of the sandwich from her hand. "Hey!" She turned her head to see the Swablu land on a brick wall outside the building. As soon as it spotted her looking in its direction, it let the sandwich fall from its beak on to the ground. Despite being surrounded by crumbs, which it wiped away with its wings, it gave her the most innocent look it could.

Forte bounced over to the Swablu, scolding it, though doing so in mutters. The wild Pokemon, still trying to be the picture of innocence, gave a soft, sweet chirrup and fluttered into the air. Cici couldn't help but chuckle as it settled on her head. "So my hair looks that much like a nest, huh?" she said, reaching up and petting the Pokemon. It was like patting a ball of cotton. She knew the Swablu was deliberately putting on the cute act, but it was working. She just couldn't stay annoyed at it.
@Heckno12 Yeah, Salandit and its Corrosion ability.

I'd say the worst typing is Bug... most of the time. There are exceptions. (Yanmega, for example. Ancient Power covers Flying and Fire weaknesses, and if it learns a Grass type move, that compensates for its x4 Rock weakness. Also, Speed Boost...) That and Bug is one of the types that has a nice variety of secondary typings - much needed ones, in this case.

Some day, I want to take on the challenge of creating a Bug type trainer character for something who's actually pretty good.

What are people's favourite types here?
@Heckno12 I think that's why Fairy types have a weakness to Poison, to balance things out a little. Though many Fairy types can learn Psychic type attacks... At least Poison types are immune to the poison status effect themselves, that's one good thing.
@fer1323 Yeah, that's the idea, it's going to take more than just Amber's Pokemon to fend off the flock.
@fer1323 Ok :) I was considering having the Cubone run off and the group having to help the guy look for it, but should it just re-emerge? Because I think the Team Noble event is going to happen soon, and that will bring our characters' groups together.

Cici smiled. "Yeah, I was planning on heading out anyway tomorrow." She'd imagined she'd travel with just Forte and maybe one or two other Pokemon for company, depending on how many Pokeballs she could afford by then. While she enjoyed socialising, she knew too well that friendships could easily drift apart... at least, friendships with humans. Pokemon, from what she'd heard, were much more loyal. One of the main reasons for her journey as a trainer. Still, at least this way she'd have someone to talk to as she explored the surrounding routes and towns.

She wondered what it would be like, discovering the rest of the region, catching new Pokemon, facing new challenges.

"And a gig? That's something we'd both enjoy," she continued, briefly glancing at the Whismur, who was still bouncing around, playing with his new friend. "He likes music. It's how we met. I was playing, earlier today, and he just came over." She lowered her voice slightly, leaning in. "I just hope he doesn't try singing along, though..."
Sophia Danvers

Inside the ambulance

@OtomostheCrazy @Heckno12 @AbysmalDemon

At the sting of a slap across her face, Sophia's torrent of apologies stopped. She'd known the girl wouldn't be too happy to see her as she woke. She hadn't expected forgiveness, she just hadn't known what to do other than apologise. Now, she sat in silence, in the full knowledge that she'd deserved the slap. As awkward as Rheese was in these kinds of situations, it probably was best to leave the comforting to him.

Still, on some level, it was a relief to see the girl starting to act the way she normally did. "I... I take it you're feeling more like yourself, then," she said once she could bring herself to speak, a tiny shard of the usual edge to her attitude returning, although her voice still shook.

Things were going to be ok, she told herself. No thanks to her, but this girl and her Pokemon would be fine. She was just glad Kero hadn't come with them, given the way he'd reacted.

Event: Mythical Pokemon

Outside Windshire

@Iatos

Among the common sights of the route leading from Windshire, a much more unusual Pokemon floated through the air. It flew in and out of the trees, playing with a swarm of Butterfree, a tail much longer than its body streaming behind it.

It stopped, the tiny pink hairs that covered its skin bristling, stubby ears twitching. Peering out from the greenery, it saw a human make his way along the route. He wasn't looking in its direction, but humans caused it to shy away at the best of times, and this one... There was something about this one especially that set it on edge. Turning in the air, the Pokemon fled.
@Heckno12 Well that'll probably shut her up, and I think it'll actually be kind of a relief that Alexis is acting like her usual self.

@Iatos I'll reply continuing the Mew event when the other stuff kicks off (which will happen fairly soon), Heckno and I are planning to merge the two events. We've decided Mew is going to have a pretty important role in the plot. It's exactly the kind of Pokemon Team Noble would be interested in, after all...
@Noxx Nyxx will get her reward either way.
