The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

Name: Feyhollow Town
Location Type: Township
Pokemon Types: Fairy, Rock, Ground, Grass, Poison, Normal, Flying, Bug

Lore:
In the heart of an overgrown forest, south of Central, is a quaint little town. Its peaceful atmosphere and the wild yet beautiful feel to the place draw people in, as do the many stories and legends.

In the late hours, the sound of singing carries on the night breeze. Venture far enough past the gnarled trees and tangles of flowering vines, and the dances of Fairy-types in the clearings can be seen. Moss-covered caves fill the forest, glowing softly with fungi as if to entice people inside. These caves are where many of the Fairy Pokemon can be found.

A widely-told story is that of one particular fairy, Diancie. Some people report catching a glimpse of the diamond Pokemon, and a few deliberately seek it out in the hope of wealth from the gemstones it is said to produce. Although many have explored the woods and the caves, though, this rumour has never been confirmed.

Another legend is that of the forest's origin. It is said to have been created by the legendary Pokemon Xerneas, as a home for the fairies. According to the story, Xerneas, exhausted by its efforts, transformed into a tree. Now, it is believed to have awakened from its long slumber, as a few inhabitants of the town claim to have seen it. As with Diancie, its presence has not been proven.

Enchanting as the place is - for that very reason, in fact - the wilderness surrounding Feyhollow is to be explored with a sense of caution, or so the town's inhabitants warn. There are rumours of people becoming so caught up in the fairies' songs and dances that they never return, or come back changed in some way. After all, these innocent-seeming Pokemon are some of the most mysterious...

Feyhollow Town Poke Mart

A small, cosy little shop in the middle of the town, selling the essentials for trainers.

Feyhollow Town Mission Board

A large board against a stone wall in the town square, framed by climbing plants twisting around it. On this board, townspeople in need of assistance from trainers for various reasons leave requests in the form of posters. To accept, trainers are to take these requests from the board to the town hall.

"Ah, hi." Cici looked up to see Tommy had arrived. "Yeah. It's nothing. It's just... well, I'll admit to not being a morning person." With a slight laugh, she gestured towards what was left of the spillage on the table. "And this doesn't exactly help." She cleaned up the rest of it and threw away the soggy napkin.

She wasn't going to tell this guy her life story. There was no point. Besides, it was all behind her now. On to the next place today, wherever the two of them decided that would be.

Forte skipped over to Tommy, giving tiny little squeaks. "Hey, looking forward to going exploring today?" Cici asked the Whismur, her smile coming much more easily to her. From the soft, happy sound he made, she assumed he was.

"So," she said, facing Tommy again. "What were you thinking of doing? Staying in Central a little longer, or heading out this morning? I'm fine either way." This wasn't entirely true. What she wanted, especially after the conversation with Sarah just now, was to leave Central early. Ok, it would be a good idea to stock up on some items from the mart first, but she hoped she wouldn't be in this city too long. She wasn't going to pressure Tommy to leave too quickly, though, if there were still things he wanted to do. The other thing was, if she seemed too eager to leave, he'd suspect something was wrong.

Oh well. She'd get to make her new start sooner or later.
@Balthazar007 Ok, just formatted the new location info. Do I post it IC and then make another post as Cici, or do I include Cici's actions in the same post?
@Noxx Are you waiting for me to reply as Amber? I could edit my post if you want.

Beside the wrecked ambulance

@Heckno12 @OtomostheCrazy @Iatos

The blast of water slowed the Rhyhorn down, but didn't stop it. It charged. Leaping out of the way, Staryu aimed another Water Gun at it. The rock Pokemon skidded in the mud created by the attack, thudding against a tree. Growling, it tried to shake off the dizziness. The other Rhyhorn bellowed, stampeding towards the water Pokemon. Staryu whirled away from its path in a blur. Unable to easily turn, the Rhyhorn crashed into the other one, who fainted.

"Heh... rocks for brains, literally," Sophia said with an uneasy laugh, trying to mask her fear. "Good work, Staryu." At the sight of a shape in the corner of her eye, sneaking up to her, she gasped and spun. One of the grunts. She had to act quickly... The psychic force she managed to send at him wasn't particularly strong, but was enough to knock him off-balance, sending him stumbling back and falling.

Sophia nearly collapsed along with him, leaning against the side of the ambulance for a moment, before putting all the effort she could into standing straight and tall. Maybe it would deter the grunts if they thought she was a stronger psychic than she really was...

"Quick! Take her out first!" one of the men yelled. Before Sophia could react, the Magnemite was above her, crackling with electricity. The next moment, she heard a cry of "Goth-i-ta!" The Magnemite flew back, flung several feet away with Confusion.

"Gothita, be careful!" Sophia yelled. The Magnemite turned its attention on Gothita, zooming closer even in its weakened state - but didn't get to attack. A jet of water slammed into it. "Staryu!" Sophia didn't want to think what would happen if Staryu, a Water type, got hit with Thunderbolt from a high-level Magnemite... In an instant, Purrloin was beside Staryu, standing on her hind legs, a ball of light forming between her front paws. Water shot out from the light.

Sophia watched in awe. That had to be Assist... The Magnemite bobbed in the air, sparking, looking close to fainting.

Normally, Sophia would have found the irony of a cat using a water move hilarious, but there was nothing funny about this situation. Beside her, Wooper was flinging mud around with more and more intensity, protecting Rheese. "Come on," she called to her Pokemon, staggering over to Wooper, falling to her hands and knees in the dirt behind the flurry of mud. All three Pokemon stood close by her. Mud Sport would provide some protection from the Magnemite, but the danger was far from gone.

There was a flash of light. In the place of Kero's Eevee stood an Espeon, who threw one of the grunts against the still-conscious Rhyhorn with a psychic attack. Sophia had no idea how Kero had gotten his Pokemon to evolve so quickly, but maybe, just maybe, they had a chance...

"You two hungry?" Cici mumbled at her Pokemon, handing them snacks she'd bought. Apart from the coffee, a morning necessity, she hadn't ordered anything for herself yet. She would once Tommy arrived. Looking with bleary eyes at Dulcet, she let out a sound somewhere in between a chuckle and a groan. "I guess that's a silly question to ask you..."

She took another glance around. The place was filling up, but she still couldn't spot the fellow musician. Taking another sip of her coffee, she turned back towards her Pokemon - or rather, one of her Pokemon. Dulcet had disappeared, leaving her food half-eaten.

"Dulcet?" Turning her head this way and that, Cici gasped. "Dulcet, no!" The Swablu landed on a table right in front of a customer, earning a cry of shock, and started pecking at a breakfast muffin. Cici jumped up, spilling her coffee all over the table, and ran towards her Swablu, Forte waddling behind her. "I said no! You've got your own food!" Dulcet backed away from the muffin and looked up at her trainer with wide eyes, giving a sweet chirrup.

"For Arceus' sake!" the woman at the table snapped. "Can't people control their damn Pokemon?" She looked up at Cici, and realisation hit both of them.

The woman had changed. Her hair had faded from brilliant red to its natural strawberry blonde, and she now wore a plain, no-nonsense green dress, but it was unmistakeably her.

"Sarah?" Cici gave her former friend a forced smile. "Uh, hi! It's, um... been a while..."

Sarah glared, wrinkling her nose as she took in Cici's dishevelled appearance. "Yeah, and you really haven't changed," she replied. "Of course you can't control that scrap of cotton. Never put much work into anything, did you? Except kicking up that racket."

The words stung, especially coming from Sarah. Cici remembered when they used to sing nursery songs together as children. They'd been like sisters for years, and now... Well, Cici couldn't really fault her once closest friend and former bandmate. It had been Sarah's family, after all, who had made her give up music to pursue what they saw as higher ambitions. Cici knew they'd always seen her as a bad influence.

"Um, sorry," Cici muttered. "I'll buy you something else right away." Returning Dulcet to her Pokeball, she headed inside, and emerged a few minutes later with another muffin. Sarah accepted it wordlessly. Biting her lip, Cici returned to her table and slouched, wiping up the coffee with a napkin, keeping her gaze away from the other girl.

Was it even a good idea to travel with Tommy? Would he turn out like Ryan, a bandmate who'd seemed kind and friendly at first, but had slowly grown to view his taste in music as superior, his jokes turning into harsh put-downs, before deciding he was meant for greater things and leaving? Or would he be like Sarah and do a complete 180? Would she be better off making her excuses and travelling solely with Pokemon for company?

She decided she'd take her chances. She just wouldn't let her friendships with humans become too strong.
@Heckno12 Yep, just saw! I take it they'll have the first or second evolutionary stages of some of those Pokemon if we're still low-level when we challenge them?
@Heckno12 I'll reply as Sophia today.
@fer1323 Ohh, I thought you were asking me what kind of feel I was going for...
