The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

@Zarkun Yeah, it probably won't be long until he reaches Skilled rank.
@Lugubrious Thanks. What's going to happen with future missions for Stillwater? Are you ok with Dusksong approving them?

@Zarkun I'd been waiting for this moment with Cici and Forte for so long :D
♥ Ellanor "Ella" Beaufort ♥

Location: Stillwater

@Dusksong

Ella bit her lip, hesitating, but Leisy was right. This would be best left to a stronger trainer, and she and Leisy would be able to come back once they'd trained more - as well as done what they'd planned to do from the start. She wasn't going to turn her back on Vivian.

"We'll have to go back," she said. "For Vivian. We weren't even supposed to be away this long." The thought of having left her friend for several days, when she needed support, brought a sharp stab of guilt - as did the thought of leaving the townspeople at the mercy of Darkrai. Would they be, though? The wraith had let everyone go, after all. There may not even be anything left to do here. For now, anyway.

Retreating to the room, she flopped onto the bed fully-clothed, quickly drifting off to sleep.

Bright sunlight streaming through the window woke her. Sitting up and stretching, she climbed out of bed. Those few hours of sleep had made a much-needed difference. Her head no longer pounded whenever she moved, and although her back still ached from two days of lying on stone, the pain had eased. Jumbles, also more alert, drifted over to her.

"You ok now?" she asked. "Come on, let's go see if Leisy's up." With that, she headed into the lobby.

♪♫♪ Cecilia "Cici" Taylor ♪♫♪

Location: Tefan Village

@Zarkun

"Sounds good," Cici replied as she let out the rest of her team and fed them treats. She had enough Pokefood for now, but she'd have to stock up soon. "Here, have these too." Facing her six Pokemon, she pulled the Rare Candies from her bag. "No, Dulcet, they're not all for you." The Swablu let out a disappointed chirp, giving her that pleading look, trying to appear as adorable as possible.

Passing each Pokemon a Rare Candy, she watched them eat the snacks. With the task ahead, they'd need the extra levels.

A sudden light burst outwards. Pulling back, Cici gasped. Five of the six Pokemon let out cries of surprise as, where Forte had stood a moment ago, a glowing shape grew bigger and bigger. The light faded, revealing the former Whismur's new appearance. A purple Pokemon, with speaker-like ears, sturdy limbs, and a mouth that took up most of his body.

"Loud! Loudred!" he boomed, jumping and stomping in excitement.

It took Cici a few seconds to recover from the shock. "Ohh wow..." she said, a wide grin spreading across her face, laughter bubbling from her. "Forte, you look awesome!" Leaning down, she hugged her newly-evolved starting Pokemon, who wrapped his own stocky arms around her. "Oof! You're pretty strong, you know that?" she chuckled. It had completely slipped her mind that, now she was a skilled trainer, this would happen soon.

"I'm afraid I won't be able to carry you around any more, but come along," she said, standing back up. "We'd better set out."

✿ Florence Hadley ✿

Location: Feyhollow Town

Through Feyhollow park, a small green Pokemon scampered, letting out happy cries. Behind her, a young woman ran, braid flapping, bag of supplies bouncing against her shoulder.

"Wait up, Vernie!" Florence called, nearly crashing into a passer-by. "Ehh, sorry!" It seemed the excitement of setting out was too much for the Chikorita to handle - even if she wasn't officially a trained Pokemon yet. The little Grass-type glanced behind her, jumping up and down. "Chiko!" she squeaked, waiting until Florence had almost caught up, before running ahead again. A sweet smell wafted on the breeze, like a mix of herbs and mown grass, mingling with the scent of the park's flowers. Vernie's fragrance always intensified when she was in a particularly good mood.

Sending a group of Flabebes scattering in alarm, the Chikorita disappeared around a bend in the path. There was a rustling noise, and a sudden sharp squeal.

"Vernie!" Rushing to the Pokemon's side, Florence knelt down. Vernie had caught her leaf on the thorns of a rose bush. She struggled, whimpering, twisting her leaf around, only managing to entangle it further. "Hold still. I'll see to that." Carefully freeing the Pokemon from the shrub, the new trainer plucked out thorns that had broken off and become embedded in the green tissue. Vernie winced, sap trickling from the wounds.

"Hey, it's ok. That's nearly all of them," Florence soothed. "This is the last one now." Once the final thorn was removed, a white glow surrounded the leaf, then faded. The scratches were still visible, but much smaller. Synthesis, a self-healing move known by many Grass types. Relaxing a little, Florence took a jar of salve from her bag and gently rubbed it into the leaf.

The Chikorita was pretty much ok, but it would probably still be best to get her to a Pokemon centre, just to make sure she was healed as quickly as possible. Petting her on the back and picking her up, Florence hurried to the familiar building.

@Lugubrious Ok. So I take it Ella and Leisy should claim the TP before heading back to Feyhollow.
Yep, just so people know, it's possible to get wild starters in this, as long as they're in an appropriate location. They're just not all that common.
Amber Pine

Outskirts of Mesalon

@OtomostheCrazy @Dusksong @Heckno12 @fer1323 @Noxx

Amber nodded. "As good an opportunity as this is to study Hoothoot's moves and behaviour..." She ignored the look of utter disbelief from Sophia. "There are too many of them."

She moved aside as one of the owls swooped at her, its claws only narrowly missing. By her side, Kyra growled. The little puppy sprang into the air, slamming the Hoothoot with Tackle.

Instead of retreating, though, Amber rushed forward as she noticed something. A small, spherical owl of a different species, on the ground, covered in scratches. "Row..." it hooted, struggling to stand up, spreading its leafy wings to steady itself, only to topple onto its back. Amber instantly recognised this Pokemon from what she'd read, despite never having seen it in the wild. This species was usually bred in captivity, but could occasionally be found in forests at night.

Now it made sense, why the Hoothoots were on edge like this. The Rowlet must have unwittingly entered their territory.

"Come on, in here," she said, reaching for a Pokeball. Once the injured bird was safely inside, Amber pulled away as two shapes closed in on her. Sophia stepped in, but no sooner had she used her psychic power to deflect them than she slumped. Letting the brunette lean against her, Amber rejoined the others, her attention still on the many red glares.

Solanna Delacloude

Outskirts of Mesalon

@fer1323 @Heckno12 @OtomostheCrazy @Noxx @Dusksong

A silhouette, much larger than the others, swept silently through the forest. Before Solanna could react, a volley of energy blades hit Whimsicott, sending the Grass-type stumbling back with a squeal.

"Whimsicott, come back!" Instantly returning the weakened Pokemon, she sent out another member of her team. "Ok, Summerstorm, no holding back! Sunny Day and Weather Ball!" This Noctowl had to be high level to know Air Slash, but so was her Castform.

Flying high into the air as the Noctowl lunged at her, the cloud-like Pokemon twirled around, sparks of light shooting from her tiny body. The sparks rose up, spinning around each other, until they exploded like fireworks, creating a brilliant light in the sky. The Noctowl and several of the Hoothoots fell back, blinking, momentarily blinded.

Summerstorm, a cluster of orange spheres appearing around her head, shot forward a red energy ball. With a screech, the Noctowl plummeted to the ground, no longer able to fight.

The beeping tune from Solanna's bag resumed. It seemed whoever it was wouldn't stop calling until they got through.

Sophia Danvers

Outskirts of Mesalon

@fer1323 @Heckno12 @OtomostheCrazy @Noxx @Dusksong

Leaning against Amber's shoulder, Sophia gaped as Solanna brought out her Castform, putting on a display that seemed more worthy of a contest than a battle at first, before rendering the Noctowl unconscious in one hit.

"Not much of a fighter, you say?" she commented. Was Solanna just modest, or had she been hiding her skill out of fear of being targeted by Team Noble? She had seemed pretty uncomfortable during the conversation earlier... This woman would surely be more than capable of putting up a fight, though, if anything happened.

Ugh, this was yet something else that highlighted how unskilled she was. All these high-level trainers... Some day, she'd rise above all of them. She'd have to.

@Lugubrious Good luck with new RP. Just so we know, what's going on with the Bad Dreams mission?
@Dusksong Thanks for approving my new character :)
Name: Florence Hadley
Age: 21
Starting Location: Feyhollow Town
Rank: Beginner
Organisation: Aether Foundation

Appearance: A tiny, unassuming girl, Florence stands at 5'2", often with her shoulders hunched and her hazel eyes cast down. She ties her chestnut-brown hair back from her face in a braid. She usually wears simple, knee-length dresses in earthy colours, or if she wants something more practical for exploring, blouses and jeans.

Biography: Florence grew up with little idea what she wanted to do. Her sister Chloe, by far the most vibrant and outgoing one, was the one who planned to help with their parents' berry farm by selling produce, leaving the timid, quiet younger sibling feeling as if she had few options other than assisting in the garden.

This led her to venture out, trying to force herself to be more adventurous and experience the world outside of the farm. One day, while walking with her sister along the outskirts of Feyhollow, she found a Pokemon at the edge of the forest. A Chikorita, sickly pale, barely moving, the leaf on her head dull and wilted. Florence rushed her to the Pokemon centre, where she stayed by her side throughout her recovery.

When the newly-healthy Chikorita decided to stay with her rather than returning to the wild, that was when Florence, aged sixteen at the time, realised what life path she wanted to take. Finding fulfillment in caring for Pokemon, she decided she'd train to become a Pokemon nurse. She took on a part-time job assisting in the Pokemon centre, and when she left school, she took her studies further.

Throughout these years, though, a problem became clear. As much as she wanted to emulate the nurse's friendly, bubbly attitude, she never felt her own personality was quite suited to working at a front desk, facing the public and comforting worried trainers. Even after completing her studies, she couldn't help feeling they may have come to nothing.

Luckily, her sister gave her a way to follow a slightly different version of her dream. Knowing how close Florence's bond with the Chikorita was, Chloe presented her with a Pokedex and Pokeball. Instead of helping Pokemon as a Pokecentre nurse right away, she'd be able to help them by travelling as a trainer, building her confidence along the way, and some day reaching her goal.

Personality: The best way to describe Florence is like a folded Cherrim. She's usually quiet and shy to the point of seeming aloof, but the longer she spends with someone, the more she'll open up. She finds this easier to do with Pokemon than with humans.

A pacifist for the most part, Florence is more of a supporter than a battler. Instead of fighting and weakening wild Pokemon to catch them, she prefers to try and befriend them, though her shyness can get in the way of this and it's usually her Chikorita who does the befriending. She's not completely averse to battling, though, and will do so if she has to, or if one of her Pokemon shows a desire to fight.

Despite her timidity, she's by no means a weak person. In a crisis, she often shows a different side, knowing what to do and taking action while others are panicking. Highly determined, once she takes up a task, she'll stick to it.

Extra Info: As well as knowing quite a lot about how to heal and look after Pokemon, she knows basic first aid for humans, and always carries around a medical kit. Her team will consist of many Grass types, and Pokemon associated with healing or caring for others.

@Heckno12 Gaaahhhh... So I just defeated the Psychic-type gym leader in Reborn (on my third try), and now there's yet another Pokemon I'm tempted to call for Sophia.

Malamar. Because Contrary + Superpower = FRICKING TERRIFYING. As I found out the hard way. And a move like that would be much-needed coverage against Dark types.

I've called way too many Pokemon for her, though... Do I go with that, and get rid of one of the other called ones?
