Current To those I RP with, I haven't dropped off of the face of the earth, just had a mental health crash but am recovering. Now to catch up on posting.

The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

@OtomostheCrazy Yep, go for it! Also, if you still want to get a Meditite, Mesalon would be one of the best places to find one.
@OtomostheCrazy Well, you can always go with Alexis got a bit more training in, if you want. If not, then level 10 or 11.
@OtomostheCrazy Probably best to go with around level 12, given all the training.
@Balthazar007 Yay! Glad to hear this is still going, and I hope the financial situation improves soon. I'll try posting when I can.
Jessamyn "Jess" Bailey

"Yeah," Jess replied, despite the conflicting feelings knotting inside her. It was like just before her mom's visit several days ago, only worse. Eager as she was to catch up on lost time with her family, there was even more at stake now. Not to mention being back at her old place would feel weird without her dad around...

She dragged her suitcase, waves of anxiety intensifying as she neared Roxy. Given the upcoming car journey, Jess knew it wasn't just about having to deal with other people. "Uhm..." She tried to give a comforting smile. "It'll only be around an hour from here."

Her earlier check of an online map had revealed it really would take no more than an hour, but would that be enough to reassure Roxy? She recalled each minute stretching out during their previous vehicle journeys together, that stress-distorted sense of time spilling over from the anchor. An hour may normally sound like a short length of time, but it wouldn't to Roxy.

Way to make the situation worse, not better, Jess inwardly scolded herself.

@fer1323 @Heckno12 @AbysmalDemon @Dusksong @Noxx

God complex? Sophia let out a bitter laugh. That was rich coming from Mr Know-It-All. She opened her mouth, about to tell him this, then thought better of it. If they got into an argument or insult match, that would be a less than ideal atmosphere for the Jangmo-o to come back to.

One logical flaw in Oscar's statement needed pointing out, though.

"You say to put others first," Sophia said, raising an eyebrow, "but you say to put what I want above what my family want? My mom said if I loved and respected her, I'd prove it. I'd repay her efforts by making her proud. Isn't that just reasonable?"

Lacey stared up, shaking her head. "Gothi-gothi!" she squeaked, while the Bronzor drifted to its new trainer's side.

"Look. I know you're worried, all three of you," Sophia replied, "but this isn't too much to take on... at least, it shouldn't be..." She thought back to everyone she'd tried to help, and had only been able to do so much for. Rheese, Alexis, Oscar... Her mother always told her she was above most people and should remind them of this instead of going out of her way for them, but she couldn't deny she'd gone and become somewhat attached to this group. And if she'd been able to do more just now, would the Kommo-o and her other nestlings still be alive?

"Putting others first... Is that always even enough to help them?" she asked, cringing at the waver in her voice. "What good is intention without results? Particularly with everything that's been going on lately? I mean, maybe things could have been different for the dragons. And yesterday, Ray said we need to get stronger, or..." She couldn't finish the sentence.

Instead, she asked another question she knew she'd just get another preachy, long-winded answer to. "If you know so much about psychics, what do you suggest?"

Ahh, yeah that's what I meant. I wasn't saying skip through the visit, sorry for the confusion.
Timeskip closer to the visit then? What do you think works best? It's just it seems like they've already talked through the stuff they needed to.
Do we timeskip to the visit?
Jessamyn "Jess" Bailey

That snort, as well as the wave of disdain from the anchor, told Jess exactly what Roxy thought of social workers. She considered saying something to defend her mother, but thought better of aggravating an already stressful situation by starting an argument. Roxy probably had reasons for her distrust.

"I know... I know, it's just..." Jess sighed. "The important thing is she doesn't figure anything out. It's like you said, then... acting normal will be the key."

The question was, though, could she act normal? Over the past few days, she'd tried training herself not to get tense or twitchy around the watchers, but she'd only had a short timeframe. Even if she managed to half-successfully go along with the act, would her mother see through it?
