Current I love hunt showdown. nothing like talking shit in prox chat while having a friendly cowboy shootout over a bayou bounty. Now I just need to acquire skill over ungodly amount of hours playing the game

It's crazy to see another furry in the wild. Well, back to my hidey-hole.

Angus McSix and the Sword of Power is a pretty damn good album. I was hesitant about Thomas Winkler's new band after being booted from Gloryhammer but my worry was unfounded. He is def back one better

Oh yeah. Eli's going to be the prime suspect. What are the chances there's another vampire running around the city?

*gets popcorn*

Cheers guys. Seeing you all speak about games I've never heard of, I can honestly say that I've never felt like less of a nerd in my life.

I know a fair amount of under appreciated games. If you like horror type of games and don't mind playing one from 2005, I'd recommend Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. One of the few things that does Lovecraftian horror right. You can get it on steam for $4.99.

@Lord Wraith Looks good, trying to get a few ideas on what to do.

A town plunged in darkness usually means an increase in crime, not to mention it would help Gavin remain hidden and allow him to observe the area unsolicited as he formulates a plan.

A relativly small crime organization getting their hands on some serious munitions (and by mentally immature teens no less) would be disastrous for the populace. Gavin would need to take care to avoid fatally injuring someone, especially considering having a gun aimed at you is not a pleasant experience.

And lastly, Vampire or guy trying to misdirect the blame? Vampire makes the most sense but, does that make other fantastical beasts such as werewolves a possibility? Probably not vampire, insufficient evidence to conclude with any amount of certainty. Need more information to conclusively answer. What about man? Is it possible to drain victims of blood using readily available methods? If then, what use would one have for blood if not for sustenance. Some individuals believe drinking blood from young adults/teens can extend ones lifespan, perhaps this individual thinks the same. Would require all victims to be before a certain age, or at least look young. Otherwise need to discard theory. Alternate possibility- for the fun of it. Individual's sanity may be questionable, a reason for the deed could be artificially crafted and appear reasonable to someone who loses logic. Theory possible, unlikely however. Again insufficient evidence. Conclusion- unable to determine likely culprit. likely to be a human (not vampire) for reasons unknown.

Absolutely not.

How bout we go with SupCom?

My preferred RTS. It's like Starcraft but APM takes a back seat to actual strategy. Also Ghetto Gunships
Smite references? In my RP?

Well, would you prefer Red Alert references?

"I had fun once. It was awful" - Kalas, probably.

"I told a joke once, I hated it" - Slaughterhouse Chaac

WEEK 04: As the first round of secondary plots are coming to an end, let's discuss antagonists. So far there hasn't been anything too serious in the RP but what are your thoughts on antagonists? What makes a good villain for you? Do you like them unhinged, do you like them cold and calculating? Do you prefer an NPC villain or one who is directly portrayed by another player? What's good about being bad?

I typically see one of two types of antagonists/villains. Those that do their ill deeds for money/power (usually power) and those that fight according to their ideology. The latter being more interesting and respectable in my opinion. The reasons they fight vary, but they believe in it so much that they are willing to die over it, in some cases their death is even required. A person or faction that sees an injustice in the world and attempts to solve it using controversial methods.

Particular favorite of mine is the Brotherhood of Nod vs Global Defense Initiative, when you take time to see the two perspectives you can see the faults owned by both factions. "G.D.I. has got to be the good guys right? Gloabal defense is in the name!" Well, as the series progressed the 'globe' has apparently shrinked in size as far as they are concerned. "Well, Nod is the good guys then i guess? I mean someone has to be the good guy." ehhh... It's a matter of perspective. G.D.I basically only cares about population centers in zones not contaminated with a certain alien terra-forming agent and Nod's massive propaganda machine incites the abandoned to violence.
. If you are in a blue-zone you'd prob support G.D.I. If you are in a yellow-zone you prob support the Brotherhood. All that said, I like to play in the Nod faction (subfaction Black Hand if playing KW. "When we are crushing the black hearts of our oppressors, we will find our hands blackened. We cannot cultivate our garden without digging in the dirt.")

*sigh* I wish Westwood studios was never bought out by EA, they really mucked it all up in C&C 4.

Thanks for the vote of confidence buddy.

That's me just back in the door. I'll get started on a post soonish, but it'll probably be tomorrow when it gets posted.

Theoretically, if you continuously travel away from the sun, the sun will never set from your perspective and thus possibly not be dead.

@Utrax, Mind if i ask which country you are moving to?
Gavin O’Brien

Iraq, 2011. Night

Memory recollection

“Wake up Gavin, my turn to take a nap”

“wha… has it been an hour and a half already?’ Gavin said as he slowly rose from his slumber. Most of his days on tour were like this. Long drives in a vehicle specifically designed to gather explosives does not do much to alleviate boredom after the novelty of the idea wears off, at least there is the occasional shotgun to IED. Of course it’s less a shotgun and more a tube filled with pellets on a tripod that you activate at a safe distance, but it is the closest anyone will get to shooting a bomb (and with all limbs intact!). That occasion, unfortunately, is few and far between.

The radio then cackled with life. “I marked an IED around the corner, but be careful the road kinda …” it said as the modified Humvee known as a ‘buffalo’ got stuck. Gavin then grabbed the radio “Kinda late for that Jerry. The buffalo got stuck, someone come over here and tow us out. I’m going to rake the bomb up first though. I’m right next to the marker.” As Gavin pressed a few buttons a large metal claw unfurled from above the vehicle and was guided towards the bomb.

“Hey Gavin…” Tim said, sitting next to Gavin. “Isn’t it odd that nobody is in this village?” As Gavin looked around, he recalls that he never saw anyone else around. While not all the Iraqi’s particularly liked coalition forces, it did seem out of place that there were no signs of life. Not even any livestock, it seems as if the entire village left hours ago...

Present day, night. The Whispering Woods.

“Finally on the outside of Crescent City. Assuming, of course, the storm is not having some anomalous effect on my map” Gavin said holding a device in his hand with several functions. The object had several buttons and dials one of which, indicates it is set to displaying a topographical map of the area dated 17 years ago. “A part called… The Whispering Woods? I don’t hear anything… I guess the wind needs to pick up more or is there a specific area…” I imagine a career dealing with explosives has dampened our hearing…. We hunger. Gavin’s stomach began to grumble soon after. “So it would seem. Well Beithíoch, I’m sure we can find deer or something in this forest.” But deer is so boring, can’t we hunt something more fun. Like a lion or a bear! We should find something that has claws or sharp teeth. “Well, I Don’t think we’ll happen upon a bear or a especially a lion anytime soon. These forests usually come standard with deer. The occasional Bambi. Besides, meat is meat. Some may taste better than others, but I prefer to not eat the ones that scream… Unless they piss me off enough.”

After a few more minutes of walking, Gavin finally saw what he was looking for. Tracks of deer. Two adults and a fawn by the looks of it. A few more minutes and he found a lone buck drinking from a pond. Seems the other two were separated by time. No matter, this one would sustain Gavin for two or so days at least. More if he avoids having a Ríastrad, though unlikely given his history and the crime he hears that plagues the City. Gavin crept slowly from downwind so as to keep his scent hidden, and luckily tall grass kept Gavin hidden from view as well. When Gavin was a few feet from the buck, he leapt forward intending to wrap around the buck as it struggled and thrashed about, trying to break free with such an intensity it would injure lesser skilled hunters. Gavin however, was not a lesser hunter. A matter made much more evident with his hype-gene.

After a brief struggle, lasting merely seconds, Gavin thrusted a hunting knife deep into the chest cavity piercing the buck’s heart. With all his skill, Gavin was able to make a quick kill, lessening the duration of the pain the buck would face if the knife missed the inertial target. Even with creatures that are not human, Gavin prefers to lessen the sorrow. It feels better for his conscious, or so he thinks. He hasn’t felt it in a long time. After a few minutes of feasting, consuming nearly the entire Buck, he left. Leaving the carcass to scavengers, he began walking a ways to find an ideal spot to make his first of several camps. “Now, the fuck are we doing here Beithíoch? What did we sense in this area?”
[@Lord Warith] Almost done with the post. Prob be up in an hour or so if I finish before I need to sleep. otherwise tomorrow. I decided to write a little about Gavin's past in the post and I think i'll write about it infrequently. Just a few paragraphs occasionally to make a post longer or in between plots while also revealing a little backstory.

Also, for everyone else. My character Gavin, has an alternate personality (originating from past trauma) which will be communicating with Gavin fairly frequently. This other personality is the "Beithíoch" part in his alias or title "Fear agus Beithíoch". This translates to Man and Beast in Irish. Usually what Beithíoch says is internal and will be written without the " marks surrounding the text On occasion I may write Beithíoch actually saying words which will have the " marks around him. This means Beithíoch is actually communicating to the outside enviroment. Likewise Gavin will speak with " marks around his text and on occasion have an internal monologue or speak only to Beithíoch when his colored text does not have the " around. In the case of only only one " surrounding text, use your best judgment (feel free to mention OOC or PM me). I usually read over my work a few times so hopefully the issue won't come up.
