Nalashira Elif Zenyep

Nalashira is a girl of rare complexion from her Kingdom, possessing skin which is likened to that of ivory and has never known blemish nor scar. Her shoulder length hair is kept combed and clean, a habit that she grew to posses during her life back at home. Its dark brown color creates a remarkable contrast to her pale skin, a contrast which has often been noticed by male suitors. Her eyes are a wondrous, emerald green casted with in round eyes unlike that her of mother and father, who posses almond shaped eyes. Being only five feet and four inches in height and weighing a measly one hundred and twenty-seven pounds, Nalashira’s form is far from imposing though her training as a War Maiden makes up for such a weakness.

Personal Information

Nicknames: Nala, Shira, Zennie
Age: 18
Titan: Branded
Origin:

Mentality

Personality: Despite having been raised to be a fighter from a young age, Nala is a surprisingly girly woman. She enjoys the natural beauty of Elir Nazik as the sun rises over it in the morning and when it sets at night. She obsessively posses a drive to protect that beauty with her life and has vowed to stay alive no matter what just so she can see its sunrise once more. Nala often wonders the streets of Elir Nazik at night when she can’t sleep, finding peace in her aimless wandering of the streets which she has walked for many years. She keeps her feelings of worry or doubt to herself, thinking it better to hide it from others and be strong for them rather than have them worry for her. Once Nala has decided a course of action, she will follow it till her goal is realized and resists straying from the path.

Nala enjoys the company of others, though she is often reserved and shy when presented with people not from Elir Nazik. Though a hard nut to crack open, Nala enjoys learning from those she knows little of and wishes to embark on her Journey to discover the many people of the world. She is loyal to those who she trusts and often deviates from her teachings as a War Maiden, choosing to call those who are close to her family even if they are seen as a weakness. Her defiance of the teachings of the War Maidens shows heavily when compared to another, being that she is bubbly and likeable rather than distant and cold.

Likes:
-Sunsets
-Sunrises
-Learning
-New People
-Swimming
-Playing with hair, whether hers or that others

Dislikes:
-War, an oddity for a War Maiden but something she sticks by no matter what.
-Bandits, those who would injure others just for money.
-Lizards, surprising considering she lives in a desert
-Fire, her history has taught her that fire is inherently bad.

Background:

Born the daughter of a War Maiden and a skilled Cook, much was expected from Nalashira when she was young. If she did not show the skill meant for being a War Maiden, she was to train with her Father and become a Cook, a disgrace which would have marked her as unfitting to inherit anything from her parents. Like many young girls, she played with colorful fabrics and braided hair. Nala grew up quickly, seeing the world that she only knew as Elir Nazik to be a stepping stone in what would be a Journey. She looked forward to becoming a War Maiden and, even though she knew it would mean many years of arduous training, knew that she’d come out for the better. Her days were spent running through the streets of Elir Nazik, playing tag and chasing after the dogs and cats which often wandered the streets of her home. As she grew older, her Mother grew harsher on her, telling her to act more as a War Maiden for that was what she was to become. Nala naturally rebelled against her Mother’s harsh treatment and showed that she would not be tamed the same way her Mother was. Though, this trait was one which would not grow prominent until she was faced with the training of the War Maidens.

As with all the girls who reached the age of seven, Nala was taken to the War Academy to be trained by the Maidens and to never see her Family except for once a year. Her days were filled with intense physical training while her evenings were spent studying warfare. She excelled in the training courses the War Maidens put her through, showing extraordinary agility and strength even for a girl her size. Yet, Nala slacked off on her studies and often spoke out against her teachers. For her insubordinance, Nala had to endure the heat of a fire mere inches away from her which would burn for hours. Were she to pass out from the heat, she would be thrown out of the Academy. Thus, Nala endured the torturous actions of the War Maidens and grew to realize that they were not the noble women of legend who protected Elir Nazik. Many years passed and Nala grew into womanhood, attracting the eyes of many men and even some women who envied her.

A few months before she turned eighteen, Nala graduated from the Academy and was sent home with praise as she graduated the top of her class. She was to go on her Journey as soon as she turned eighteen and was given the months before then to prepare as she saw fit. Many of Nala’s nights were spent wandering Elir Nazik, thinking on what she had been taught and even occasionally letting her thoughts wander to the topic of boys and her future. Her days were spent wandering the bazaar and spending what money she had in acquiring weaponry which she could call her own. She is only a day before having to leave Elir Nazik and worry is eating away at her, not knowing what to expect when she leaves the gates of her home to explore the worlds. Somehow, she managed to go to sleep the night before, finding her bed to be a comfort like no other.

Combat and Skills

Skills and Talents:
-War Training: Having trained for many years in combat, often mock fighting against those stronger than herself, Nala is well versed in the flowing combat style of the War Maidens. Her movements flow together and link as if one led to another. Her movements are likened to that of a dancer.

-Extreme Agility: Elir Nazik is not a city one traverses by its streets alone, as any person who calls it home knows well enough. Having spent many years running through the city itself, jumping over waterways and climbing walls, Nala has developed a skill for moving quickly.

-Weapons Mastery: War Maidens are trained in all the weapons of Elir Nazik and, as such, Nala has mastered the usage of every one. Despite this, Nala shows a tendency to use curved swords as her weapons though she occasionally uses a bow and arrow.

-Desert Survival: Life in the desert is a harsh one and one which no outsider could survive for long, thus it is only natural that Nala knows well how to live within the deserts of her birth. She feels at home in almost any desert, knowing how to find water and kill for meat when the need arises

Equipment:
-Dual Curved Swords
-A Palm Wood Recurve Bow
-A Leather Quiver filled with fifty iron tipped arrows made from palm wood
-A Wooden backpack for carrying food, water, and other essentials.
-A Light traveling shawl to keep the sun off.

Other:

Magical abilities:

Platform: “I’ve always wanted to know what it felt like to fly like a bird, but I’m not one so I can’t. Of course, isn’t it our nature to try and reach for the sky and touch it like they do? I guess I just had to do it my own way instead.”

Platform, the ability to solidify whatever substance is beneath one’s feet and thus allow you to stand on it as if it was solid. With Platform, Nala can easily walk across deep waters and even step on air as if it were nothing but stairs. In its simplest form, Platform can be used to allow the user to have greater traction on sand. But Nala’s usage of Platform is unique due to her using it to propel herself into the air as if she were flying. She simply needs to infuse the air beneath her with life force and jump off it to propel herself further upwards, forming a new platform every time it is needed. The creation of each platform costs about one and a half life force.

Flash-fire: “A fire is dangerous, it can wipe out nearly all of your season’s crops here in the desert. That’s why we are always on the watch for flash-fire.”

Flash-fire, the ability to create a fire from nothing, is a upper level skill even for one who had been taught some magic in her early years of training. The goal of Flash-fire is to create a fire on the target area, thus burning the target till the fire dies out. It cost about four life force to create a flash-fire and is easier to use in hot areas and on dry targets.

Servant: “The War Maidens back at the Academy always had these cute little creature running errands for them. I learned, after a while, that they were constructs made from stone.”

Servant is the power to take a small amount of material and infuse one’s magic into it or, in the case of a Branded, it would be life force. Servant is no larger than a small doll and can only manage one order at a time, often being dispelled after its order is fulfilled. While Servant isn’t meant for fighting, Nala has made it so that she can form multiple dolls and use them to distract a target during combat. Forming a Servant takes away a permanent eight mana, or life force, which will only be returned once said Servant is dispelled.

Reason For being Branded:

Nala has never believed in the power of the Titans, though there are those who preach of the idea of the Titans as if selling snake oil for healing. She sees no reason to believe in the Titans for they left her people to endure the harsh sun with no reprise nor provide them the relief of rain.

Song:
OOC

Due to this having been an already running RP before this, the OOC is already prepared. If you wish to see examples of character sheets, several will be posted there starting today.
As you drift into the abyss of sleep, you feel a sharp tug in your chest. It's too late to resist - your body has gone limp and your consciousness is being transported thousands of miles away. You've been selected for the Bestowing.

You wake on an island. It's the dead of night - the sky above blazes a palette of cool colours. You look around, and see maybe a dozen other bright figures - you assume they must be like you.
You look up again and see 8 constellations blazing in the sky. Each depicts an epic figure; you don't recognise them, but immediately feel their power, even from millions of miles away.

In the distance, an orb of light floats above the water. From it a powerful voice resonates through your ethereal body.

"Welcome. You have been selected to participate in the Bestowing. Above are nine constellations - each is the figure of a Titan, a powerful being that holds control over one aspect of the world you know. Ally yourself with one of these Titans, and become a champion for them - carry out their will on earth, and squander the progress of other Titans if necessary...if you so please. Should you choose to ally yourself to none, you will be Branded. Fight, then, for the glory of the Titans, in the arena of planet earth!"

The constellations above burn brightly, expectantly. The horizon of the dark ocean also burns a low purple. You could walk across the water and awake...or pledge allegiance to a Titan. You must make your decision.

You are a Champion. Demonstrate FUROR TITANICUS!

Universe

The Cosmos, the entirety of the FT universe, is split into several realms. There is Earth, the planet our characters reside on, and 9 other realms that are inaccessible to humans. A Titan resides in its respective realm, and CANNOT pass into another realm, either of another Titan, or onto Earth. This makes direct combat between Titans IMPOSSIBLE. That's why they use Champions to inhibit the will of other Titans on Earth - if they were to pass into the Earth realm, the difference in physics would destroy an entire continent, if not the planet itself.

There are some points in each realm at which the barrier between others is much weaker, known as a Gate. It's still not possible for humans or Titans to enter another realm using Gates, but sufficient magic can be used to influence the area around them. Dreams are also a method Titans use to contact their champions, or humans worthy of the Bestowing. Gates can be found in nature, usually in/near Vistas (see below).

And I think that's it! Any other questions I'll answer and add to this post later. Have fun and thank you for reading! Jhett ~

(Please note some of the Titans have already been chosen in the interest check. If this becomes a little more popular then 2 people could choose the same Titan, but it'd be best if they were each filled first!)

General rules:

-As GM, my word is law. If you don't agree we can discuss it, but if I put my foot down and you still protest, you'll be asked to withdraw from the RP.

-Don't be a dick in OOC. Save that for the IC, if your character wants it!

-No Godmodding. If you're a champion, you cannot have anything more than basic magical skills/talents, as that will simply give you an unfair advantage.

-No deus ex machina. If your character is about to surely die, they'll die. No one lives forever! (well..)

-There will be a general plot. We can discuss it and see if we can make it better, however most of the plot is predetermined and concrete. Of course character personalities will change the plot, so I'm sticking to a few core plot points. These will be very unlikely to change. Unless given consent, do not try to change them.

-Have fun!

I am not the original GM of this RP though I have taken the lead in this Reboot. All work here goes to @Jhett314.
@Samara@Frizan@Ezekial Wolffe@Landaus Five-One@ravenDivinity@Krinos Solstice@AetherChronos

With the approaching deadline I have given Jhett, I'd like to bring to topic the issue of the GM. As per raven's request, I will leave it up to y'all to decide who the GM shall be. Any who wish to take the position may run for it. I, as I have stated in my previous message to you all, am willing to take the position so that is my hat in the ring.

-Sincerely, Mags

Turned 20 just this year.
@ravenDivinity

As it well can be, I simply have set forth such a message due to the lack of any knowledge of others who'd be willing to take up the position. If Jhett doesn't appear to take the position back, then we may well vote on who should take the reins.
@Samara@Frizan@Ezekial Wolffe@Landaus Five-One@ravenDivinity@Krinos Solstice@AetherChronos

I send this message to all of you as a roll call and a matter of stating something that I have talked about and decided upon. As we all know, Jhett has been rather inactive in this roleplay and his own actions have come to support the conclusion I have reached. It is, by my belief, that FT should be rebooted and headed by another GM, one who is more active and who's own actions show them of being supportive of the roleplay. Thus, I have sent a message to Jhett that, should he not respond nor refute my decision by 9am this Sunday (Eastern Standard Time), I will be taking control of FT and will be launching the reboot so as to keep this roleplay going. Thus, I alert you all to this decision as a means of asking who will stay and who will leave. Those who stay shall keep their positions upon launching the new interest check in Casual and will be allowed to move their characters there. Thank you for your time.

-Sincerely, Mags

Several Months Earlier

”You’ll never return, this is not your home.”

The words from the dream still rang through the young Maiden’s head as she looked into the glass circle which sat on her bed, a present from her Mother the night before. Elir Nazik had been her home for a decade and eight years and her thoughts of it had only ever reinforced her feelings. Never once had she felt herself to be an outcast. Not once did she feel as if her pale skin, so stark in contrast of that which all of those around her possessed, was that of an outsiders. She was always treated kindly by everybody around her, knowing nothing but love from her friends and family. Yet, those very words had come to Nala’s mind the night before she was to leave Elir Nazik. Was she truly never meant to return to this city, to see her Mother again? Her future had always been tied to this very place and her dream had shattered that future as if it were a glass mirror.

Her thoughts were interrupted as her mother walked into the small room, clad in the green and brown ceremonial wear that was required of her. ”Nalashira, daughter of mine, I can’t express how happy I am nor the fear I have for you in words alone. For eighteen years now I have raised you, watching your progress in the Academy closely even if you didn’t realize it. Today is a momentous occasion for you, the day when you set out to begin your Journey of ten years. I have faith that you will return to us, my only daughter,” She said as she approached, wrapping Nala in her arms once she was in range. Nala’s mother, Veneria, had done more than just comfort the tumultuous feelings which raged inside Nala for weeks. Veneria, the ever absent mother though she was, had calmed the storm of thoughts of the dream which Nala had the night before. Nala knew, no matter what, that she must come back to this woman who stood before her, the woman who she had called Mother for so long. No God or Spirit would stop her from coming back to Elir Nazik, to her Mother.

Veneria left Nala in her room, knowing full well that she would not see her daughter for ten years, and went down to the gates of Elir Nazik where the crowd of War Maidens waited for the daughters of Elir Nazik whose Journey would begin that day. Nala donned the cloth armor and leather armor which she had been provided by her Mother and took one final look at herself in the glass. This is me. I am Nalashira, daughter of Veneria and War Maiden of Elir Nazik. Her thoughts bolstered her confidence as she strode out of the house of her childhood, walking well now the path of maturity which had been set out before her. Her legs guided her down the streets of the oasis city, her destination being that of the Gates into the great desert. Nala arrived at the Gates and stood before the Elders of the War Maidens.

”Nalashira, daughter of Veneria,” croaked the old woman who stood in the center, ” we’ve gathered here to see you off on your Journey. It may well be the greatest ordeal you must endure, daughter of Veneria. As such, it is our greatest honor to present to you these items which have been prepared especially for you. Let you, dearest daughter of Elir Nazik, War Maiden, and Comrade of all her gathered, treat these well and return with them in your hands. May the Spirits guide you and lead you home when the time comes.”

Nalashira bowed, as she had been taught long ago and glanced over the items. Most of what was set before her were simply rations or camping gear. Yet, five items which sat on the ground before her. Two were swords, bearing the signs of the fine crafting that Elir Nazik was known for. The remaining three items were a bow and arrows, made from the palms which grew in Elir Nazik, as well as a leather quiver to hold them. The young Maiden gather up her gear and slid them into place as if they were nothing new. ”Elders, Maidens,” Nala said with a brief pause as she turned towards her Mother, ” my revered Mother, I thank you all for this gifts which you have bestowed upon me. I shall be sure to think of Elir Nazik whenever I fight. I vow on the Spirits that I shall return in ten years time. May the Spirits protect you all while I am gone.”

The War Maidens parted the path for Nala to walk out of the gates. Before her stood the desert which surrounded her home of eighteen years, a tribe native to them waiting to lead her on her way out. The sun stared down at her as if it were an eye watching her. Long had she looked up at it in her years before that day, a constant view in the expansive desert that was her home. Nala knew not what it would be like beyond the desert but knew that this day had been one long in the making. She would meet new people and encounter creatures she had never before seen. Her heart hammered in her chest as she took the final step beyond the gates of Elir Nazik, knowing full well that she would not see them for ten years.

Present Time

”Reborn and reborn again."

Nala shook in her bedroll at the thought of those words from the night before, the ones which echoed about her head as she dreamed. Surely they were not words which implied that she would die, that was not the Fate meant for her. At least, she hoped that her Fate was not to die again and again for the amusement of these so called Titans. She would fight her Fate a thousand times over even if it meant waging war on the very beings who sought to kill her only for amusement. They were no Gods or Spirits, Nala knew not what they truly were, and thus she had no intent on letting them lead her life. She rose from her spot on the cold ground, stretching as she stood, and walked over to the clear water of the lake nearby. Her hair had grown longer since she left Elir Nazik, falling nearly down to her shoulder blades.

The lake water was cold but felt nice as Nala bathed in it, letting the cold water cleanse her mind of the horrid dream she had earlier. Her mind instead turned towards the tower in the distance. She had traveled many miles from the town of Lebury to find this tower, Andale they called it. She knew not what she had hoped to find there but had wished to see what it was on her way to the city of Thrayheath that she had heard about in Lebury. Nala walked out of the lake’s water, letting the cool, morning air dry her off before she slipped on her armor. Outside of her homeland, she looked vastly different from the men and women around her who wore metal armor. She felt like an outsider and had taken to only entering villages and towns when she needed supplies.

But, Nala felt freer than she had ever been in Elir Nazik. Long had she been forced to live by the rules of the Elders, the women who had determined that war against the Tribes of the desert was better than peace. She no longer had to fear killing people who had done no wrong. Nala was free to spend her time doing whatever she wish, which often meant singing while she traveled from place to place or practicing her archery. There was no pressure to wake up early, to start her training, nor to patrol the walls and watch for hostile Tribes. She was finally free and could go anywhere she wished. Thus, she turned her eyes towards Andale Tower and packed up her supplies, slinging her wooden backpack on as she started to walk towards the tower. She knew not what she’d find there but she was certain that she’d be there after the sun was fully up.
