It is with my fondest resolution to have an impact on as many lives as possible in mind that I say "BREATHE MANUALLY NOW!" Okay thanks. Now back to writing things only I can enjoy.

I get the impression that it's best to put as much info into the interest check as possible, just so players know what they're getting themselves into as soon as possible.

Woouldn't you know that work picks up just when things are getting good. But I'm nothing if not stubborn when it comes to my crazy ideas.

Yes but that which doesn't drown you can make for an unforgettable Summer (or Autumn, whatever).

Even the shallow end of the pool can look like the deep end if you're small enough.

Greetings visitor! I hope you're having a good day! Whether you've seen me around the guild or not, I should admit that it's only been within year-6 of my time on this site that I've bothered to start work on this here "bio". I feel like I should apologize for not making it a higher priority much sooner, but lately I've adopted that "better late than never" mindset when it comes to introductions, and besides, I doubt there was much to tell in my early years anyway. I'm pretty much an amateur writer who got my start as a minor tag-along player in a fandom AU campaign ran by a small, close-nit remnant of a community formerly in association with a notable strategy-gaming youtuber. I'm being vague for brevity's sake. In the end, I value my first exposure to roleplaying as a personal learning experience more than anything, as I'm definitely the kind of person that sequesters themselves in any given community they find themselves in and RPG is certainly no exception.

That pretty much explains what I've been up to for the last several or so years, with only occasional public posts from me, as private 1x1 roleplays are easily where the lion's share of my attention goes to. Details regarding my particular interests and even approach as a prospective partner can be found in the interest check I update very rarely, but if you'd like to have a link to it or want to work with me in a similar capacity, then PMs are the best way to reach me. As for what you can expect in very broad terms, I'll say that I'm a 90s kid who'd grown up on Nintendo and Cartoon Network where, thanks to Toonami, I've developed an appreciation for the Japanese style of animation, a style that commonly influences my own creative endeavors to this day. That is in no way to say that I'm an avid watcher of anime and the like (I have my tastes and while that does sometimes coincide with what's current, it usually doesn't), just that I gravitate toward the ludicrous, extraordinary concepts and settings they commonly facilitate. That style aligns with what excites me creatively. That's the long and short of it. Exceptions do exist of course.

Well yeah I have been thinking about taking a stab at the military mecha genre, inspired by things like Gundam and Armored Core, but with plenty of room to do our own thing. If mecha isn't your thing, then I can work something in the direction of grand fantasy, cozy slice of life, dramatic grimdark or nearly anything in between. I could go on, but feedback is appreciated.
@Kaga Classs
Hello. I've most certainly never seen you before. Anyway, if your offer still stands, I'd be willing to hear about what interests you. I have a few setting concepts in mind that might interest you.
Yeah it can all work. And Metal Slug has so much crazy stuff in it that it can incorporate much from these avenues depending on what the GM wants. You can have alien/human hybrids and soldiers made into gun-toting monkeys pilot transforming metal slugs (or even something out of JoyToy's Steel Bone series) in search of an ancient, magical power in the backdrop of a ruined, zombie-infested countryside.

Anyone who can navigate through all that is definitely GM material in my eyes.
(So do I like own this thread now?)
With Metal Slug Tactics on the horizon, I wouldn't mind some kind of AU or side story with much of the dieselpunk warfare and absurd trappings you can expect from the franchise. Maybe a sovereign, player-run nation is resisting the Rebel Army at its border and have to adapt to the war as it progresses, from the royal family to the soldiers on the battlefield. Failing that, maybe just a squad-based RP will do, beggars can't be choosers when it comes down to it. I think the right people can balance the occasionally ludicrous subject matter (at least some of it) with the hard drama of war, though I'd understand if the GM wanted to shift the tone one way or another.
Spurred on from thinking over what I'd like to see from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series (as unlikely as it is to happen), that being an entry where the player assumes the role of guildmaster, adding an entire phase of the game involving at least rudimentary guild (and maybe even town) management systems, I believe the idea can be translated over to an RP to some extent.

The GM or another very committed player will likely have to assume the role of guildmaster, but otherwise it opens the floor to a certain degree of collaborative world-building. Many if not all player characters are in a position to form teams and dungeon-run, but everyone can claim whatever occupation/position within the community they want, operating either as part of the guild or the town.

I'd hope players can have that extra layer of investment through contributing to this in-game community. Couple this with an engaging story that ties it all together, and I think you'll have a PMD RP that a lot of players can get behind.

"Mr. Clark, your daughter's a very good kisser."

Partially interested.

Not gonna lie, I'd be a good deal more invested if this was casual. PMD is commonly on my mind, partially because I kinda want to tell the story of a marshadow boy whose refusal to live in someone else's shadow essentially stunts his potential as a fighter (making him weaker for the purposes of the RP). That said, it's a stretch of a premise and it's not like I could just approach an IC saying my participation is contingent on the GM okaying my selfish requests...

... So anyway, if this RP does happen, and everyone can bare with me as I write longer posts than my average, then I can see myself playing a larvitar, probably. Not altogether settled on it yet.

Edit: Well needless to say, but I'm very much backing out of this, even if the OP returns. It was always going to be a longshot, but hopefully someone starts up a PMD RP closer to the style of the original games one day. Oh well. Have a good one, guys!

I'm thinking it might be interesting to explore something inspired by Blizzard's old Project Titan before it was retooled into Overwatch. If I remember correctly, it had to do with players taking the roles of secret agents of rival factions vying for control of advanced tech left over from a (mostly) successfully repelled alien invasion. The RP itself could be divided into two phases, one of course being the missions everyone takes on, but the other would be their civilian lives. It's very secret-identity-based superhero-y in that way. I'd of course be fixin' to emulate the style of it as much as possible, if left up to me anyway.

Also, just wondering, but has there ever been a time when someone happened by any of these posts and thought "You know what: I'm totally gonna try and make an RP on this person's behalf"? Not that I'm offering, because I myself likely won't be able to do anyone's concept justice, but it's something fun to think about for me.
... something done right...
