Name
Sebastiano Benedetti

Gender
Male

Age
Thirty

Occupation
Bartender.

Background
Benedetti was the youngest child in a family of six. His father wasn't around as much because of working in the mines and his mother was busying with the others to pay attention to him. When he was able to speak and walk, he started to follow his older brothers' around. Almost all of the brothers didn't care except his second youngest, Ermilo. Ermilo wasn't the smartest person around, but he knew enough to stay out of trouble.

He began to train Benedetti things about the real world like washing dishes and cooking a meal for the family. Ermilo cared about him more than his mother and father. When things at home got worse, Ermilo grew tired of the tension there and planned to run away. Benedetti didn't learn about it until he saw him bags onto the bed. He tried to get him to leave with him, but Ermilo refused and said that he would be better at home than out in the streets with him. Then, he left.

After years of dealing with his father's death and life as a teenager, Benedetti found him in New York City terminally ill. At the age of nineteen, he packed his bags and moved to see his dying brother. No-one else showed up besides Benedetti. Ermilo was able to see his little brother for the last time. Before he died, he gave him the remaining money that he had: $10,000. He didn't share on how he got the money because he died shortly after giving the money.

He decided that he was going to live in America by taking The Naturalization Test. It took a long time before he was able to pass it, but he finally passed at the age of twenty-two. After that, he left for America and moved into an apartment. Then, he got a job as a model for a while until he quit after finding out that he almost overdosed on crack that got while partying. Finally, he got a job at a nearby bar as a bartender at the age of twenty-eight and kept the job to this day.

An unknown virus has spread during the rush of Black Friday all over America, especially New York City. None knows about the virus, how many are affected, and how far it will spread. 8.4 million currently live in the Big Apple, the largest city population in the United States of America. If a virus outbreak happens, it would take about seventy two hours to spread all over. The government has plans in place to prevent this from happening and one of them is Operation Isolate. Isolate off different parts of major cities with high rates of infected people.

We will be playing as citizens of New York City and watch as cases of the 'flu outbreak' appear. We don't know what will happen during the first week of the outbreak. The government, police, and all of them will either be confused or collapse among with the entire city. My mother used to have this saying when something like happens:

"Everything dies for a reason we can't possibly know."

Reference Notes

  • The outbreak won't result in the formation of zombies (unless we change out minds). Instead, the victim will get very sick during the first couple hours. During the hours, the victim will experience flu-like symptoms and doctors would normally give you just medicine to help and send you home. However, there's a strain of the smallpox virus with no functional vaccine (and/or cure).

  • There are some people who are immune to catching this virus, but they are largely in the minority and taken by the military to be studied on.

  • We will be starting within hours before the first cases are reported in to the media. Meaning, that our characters will be in for a surprise.

  • The name of the virus is The Washington Flu. The nicknames are Dollar Pox, Money Pox, Wages of Sin, Buck Flu, Dollar Flu, Dollar Bug, Cash Pox, Small Bill, and The Legal Tender. When people die of this virus, it is known as "cashing out" due to it being spread by money. And the nicknames and the name are based on The Division.

Days since Outbreak

@Blekee, yeah I do still have my dear Canada.
@Aristo, welcome back!
@Chairman Stein, I am not going to lie to you (I am not kind of person, plus I can be too honest). But, you did ruin some of my plans. Thankfully, your sheet is well organized and has tons of stuff in the history section. If I had been replaced by a person that wasn't as well organized as you're, then I would of been more upset.

This was just a small setback, but you didn't ruin everything. I can deal with it. Like I said before, I like your sheet and the amount of detail that you did. Plus, you put depth into the history, which always makes me happy when someone does that.
Well, this is awkward.
I don't like to join roleplays that aren't organized and well thought out, meaning that I won't join any roleplay that has canon characters (DC and Marvel roleplays for example, because I don't believe that anyone can't portray a canon character correctly enough that I would be happy). I don't join roleplays where people only post one or below paragraphs, that means that I will never check out the Free Section.

Graphics and wall of texts immediately grab my interest for the roleplay along with a nice, well constructed CS/NS Template. I would join a roleplay, even if It isn't well constructed, if the players are active and willing to help advance the story. Since I am a busy person, I don't often join roleplay that make you post within a few days rather than a week. I understand why they have it in place, but I take time in my posts and they take almost a week or so to finish. And one more thing that makes me happy, players talking to each other in the roleplay that I am in.

I also check out the GM's posting history as well. If I see that he/she has let many of his roleplays die, then I won't join. If I see that they are trying to keep their roleplays active, then I will consider joining. Plus, it comes down to their writing style and how long they can write in a single post. I need to explore beyond the Nation Section and join more Advanced and Casual roleplay to meet more people. 1x1 roleplays are the same thing as Casual and Advanced roleplays. I always look for well constructed interest checks with tons of different plots.

I would also not consider Nation and Tabletop purely because I have literally no idea how any of those sections even operate.

I understand why some people won't be interested in the Nation Section, since the place is home to roleplays that last only a couple weeks before being replaced by the same person. Plus, it's difficult for many people to understand how nation roleplay work. I don't think that you're ignorant for not trying it out. I don't want to try out Arena at all, because I don't think that it's interesting to me.

I guess that would make both of us ignorant.

History of Your Nation since start of Great Depression
When the Great Depression began, the British Empire suffered from high unemployment and poverty. The empire was still recovering from the Great War and the Depression surprised many government officials. Soon enough, the government took emergency measures to balance the budget and restore confidence in the pound by issuing an emergency budget, which immediately instituted a round of cuts in public spending and wages. Public sector wages and unemployment pay were cut by 10%, and income tax was raised in the pound. However, these measures were unsuccessful as unemployment rose and the gold standard dropped.

After years of measures to combat against the depression, a slow recovery begun in 1934 because of the withdrawal from the gold standard and the devaluation of the pound. As a result, British exports became more competitive on world markets. During that period of recovery, Nazi Germany was born as Hitler took complete control of the country. Then, an revolt against Hitler began and the country fell into chaos. The British were watching from the sidelines as the Royal Freikorps rose to the up while Hitler ran to Austria.

Right after the successful coup, the new government of Germany immediately invaded Austria to capture Hitler. The British government called for discussions at Stuttgart to discuss the capture of Hitler; however, the discussion was rejected by the 2rd Imperial German Empire and Austria was annexed into the empire. Within weeks of the Fall of Austria, Czechoslovakia was soon added into the German Empire by force as the German people rebel against the Czechoslovakian government. The British didn't have time to respond to the simulation at the country, because they were already signed an treaty with them.

The once powerful British Empire was losing more power as the German Empire took over parts of Poland, Denmark, and Yugoslavia. The Netherlands and Switzerland were completely surrounded as German forces took it in the matter of days. The French government were too afraid to fight against the powerful and ruthless German Empire and gave up the Rhineland. They also left the alliance with the British as the agreement that they would be left alone by them. The Allies were no more and the British had to make a tough decision to let them continue their campaign of terror in Europe. Soon enough, British and Germany officials met in Berlin to sign The Cottbus Agreement.

The Cottbus Agreement stated that the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland would leave the 2rd Imperial German Empire alone, if they don't attack their colonies, dominions, and the homeland. It was signed right after the Treaty of Washington was also signed. With the fall of the United States of America and the British Empire losing control of Europe, democracy had lost to fascism. With The Cottbus Agreement signed and ratified, the British Empire looked beyond Europe and into the colonies of Asia and Africa. Many citizens are worried that the German Empire will backstab them for their colonies; however, the government is preparing for that moment to come.
@The Spectre Isolate has me intrigued.
