Cassie was still at the counter as the scene played out, and she hesitated as the woman left. The way the boys had acted, Cassandra could easily guess that this was their mother, for lack of a better word. She wondered, not for the first time, if there was some sort of abuse going on, but neither liked to talk about it, and Cassandra hadn't the guts to ask. Sophie reacted first, but Cassandra took the chance to paste te woman's face in her mind. She had a half-baked desire to chase after the woman and give her a piece of her mind.

What Cassandra really wanted to do was bundle the boys up and take them home with her, but that would result in all sorts of trouble. She just had to hope they'd be okay until they were legally old enough to get out of there. Still, she would try and figure out a way of getting them out as often as she could. She headed into the kitchen, careful not to tread on any broken pieces of plate.

She didn't know what so say, feeling like anything she could say would be inadequate. "Um. I'll wait on the tables, okay Sophie" She gently took notebook and pencil from Aron, giving him a smile, and even before she thought it, she reached up to stroke a hand over Gage's cheek, as if she could soothe away all the anger and agitation with such a simple touch "Come help me get the snacks after shift, for I'll surely buy too much that I can't carry it home otherwise!"

Cody deliberately allowed a thin coating of light to cover his body, so that if the motivators came close to touching him, they'd get a burn. This could easily be explained by the fact that their touch hurt him, a defensive mechanism, although no doubt he'd still be punished, but right them Cody didn't care. Right then, he wanted to cause enough uneasy that he could gain a footing.

In the commotion, his traditionally sightless eyes met Jiang-ping's eyes, and his expression was on that seemed to bore into the doctors, as if he was seeing he very light of her soul.

'You and I both know, Doctor, that if I truly wanted to escape, I would have, and not let you know that I could. So ask yourself, Doctor. What is it I truly want?'

He fell silent, watching as Gerswhin was forced from the room, refusing to let his distress at that be seen. It was time to play a different role, and weakness wasn't apart of it. Not with this doctor.

'Truly, you should wonder if even my test results so far are even a true representation of what I can do, and of my abilities both normal and abnormal. You maybe able to amuse me pain, but you will never be able to force me to answer truthfully. Ask yourself, is this just a wild goose chase? Perhaps I'm merely waiting for the perfect chance to destroy this place. Or perhaps I am waiting for those I now to truly wonder if what you arranged to be know is indeed truth. Perhaps I just enjoy watching you run after an answer you will never truly be able to replicate.'

Cody's voice was calm, despite a challenging air to his mannerisms, and he refused to let Gerswhins screams cow him, as he stared his sightless stare at the doctor.
