Current "Doing your best" does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown. Its no longer your best at that point.

The word homeowner has the word "meow" in it. Good luck pronouncing it correctly ever again. You're welcome ^.^

When everything seems wrong...something goes right, and it changes darkness into light, and makes the shadows a little less daunting.

the bad thing about being bullied is that every time it happens it steals a little piece of who you are if it happens enough little by little you become a little less of who you were meant to be.

Niesha

Having taken the tower several times before, Niesha still eyed it with a critical eye. Living here all year round for a few good years, her brother Michael and herself had had plenty of time to study the damn thing- work out how it was constructed, work out just how they could beat it. She often thought that even if their mother hadn't been Athena, they'd still be like this. Either way, it didn't matter. Things were easier here, everything written in Ancient Greek- perhaps the only language their dyslexic brains didn't seem to play with. It had been hell- rather difficult to grow up smart, but unable to read as fast as she would have liked- she had scrapped good grades through hard work- long hours working through words. Here... it was different. Their father had helped them, patient and willing, to help them figure out ways to study. Remembering that, Niesha couldn't help but smile- and remembering that, she could see how Athena had been drawn to his patient, kind understanding, his constant ability to find ways to do things... Shaking her head slightly, she thought back on the days before coming to the camp, with both sadness and happiness.

She could take solace in her small white owlet, Snow. Was it foolish to think that maybe it was a sign from their mother? Owls were often depicted with Athena in mind. Whether it was foolish or not, she loved that Owl.

Niesha had been fascinated with how things worked, how they were built, how she could get them to function, since she was a little kid. She had very precious memories of Michael and herself working through "buildings" with their blocks... working in perfect harmony. Sometimes they still worked through designs for a city they wanted to build- but Michael was better at the design stuff then herself. Turning her attention back to the obstacle tower, she watchef the contestants. Michael seemed more interested in keeping Moe, his gigantic dog, under control. She sighed softly. While they had both had a go at the course- she doubted anyone hadn't- her brother preferred not to go out of his way to try it. "You could do it, you know that."

Michael merely looked up at her and shrugged, Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you have to, Nes." It was always interesting how he never seemed to stutter with her- yet put him face to face with someone else, and he sounded like a CD that jumped about. "Besides, why show off? I prefer to let the other campers underestimate me." There were times when Niesha just didn't understand Michael. Sometimes he could be outgoing, and Niesha at times wished he was more so. And then there were times like this, when he could almost seem to be cunning.

She gave another sigh, turning her attention back to the tower for a moment. "But you are brilliant, Michky. Sometimes I wish you'd see that, and let others see it too." Michael shrugged and fell silent, returning his attention back to Moe. He wasn't fooling her, though. She knew that he was actively paying attention to everything around them. Giving another sigh, she let her gaze move over the others, gaze seeking out their other siblings. She wasn't sure if any of them would compete either. Bronwyn might compete, too.

Oh, what the hell. Perhaps she ought to just go ahead and try. Rising, Niesha slipped through the others, and towards the grounds, throwing herself towards the tower and starting her assent. Keeping her attention on what she was doing, Niesha began to pull herself up, muscles tightening as she did so.

Pierre

Despite the excitement, Pierre found himself almost dozing. The warm sun was just so... so... so... inviting. It might have helped if he had actually slept then night before- but he hadn't, distracted from the enticing lure of sleep by books and a new- well old- scroll he had borrowed from the Athena cabin. Stretching, Pierre leaned forward, unconcerned about Prince- having left the pup on his bed, he wouldn't be surprised to see him Adeline. Whe had had found the pup, it had just seemed perfect. A dog that would forever be puppy sized, Prince was easy to carry around if the need arose. And Adeline was always happy to lure the dog away, if she had to, she could carry him easy enough.

Turning his wandering attention back to the course, Pierre sighed heavily as he studied it. He couldn't seem to get up the energy to tackle it. The obstacle tower was indeed a challenge, yet there was always a way to conquer something. He lazily ran his gaze over everyone that seemed to be readying themselves to tackle it. If you could figure out what they were doing, and how they did it, you could figure out how to beat them. Eventually. Still, it had been a while since he had tried the tower- he'd let himself just settled into the rhyme and rhythm of the camp... let himself just... rest. Sleep was always welcome, but recently Pierre had been indulging a little too much.

He ought to take a go at it again. He sighed heavily, and rose slowly, stretching- a long satisfying stretch, and one that nearly sent him back to resting, back to a stupor... instead, He started down from the stands, not actually sure what he was going to do- and perhaps that was the point. Everytime he tried to plan this course, he failed. Rather spectacularly.

Perhaps some things couldn't be planned.

Kalinda

Kalinda leaned back, closing her eyes as she titled her head towards the sun, a small smile dancing around her features as she did so. There was nothing quite like the feel of the sun on ones skin. Warm, and welcoming. The sun was where things could grow- just about everything needed sun. And perhaps Kalinda had been listening to way too many speeches about Apollo. The internet was a wild thing. Sighing, she opened her eyes and looked back towards the obstacle tower. The only child of Apollo at the camp right then, Kalinda was merely there to ensure that people didn't kill themselves, and to treat any injuries. She had no desire to show off on the tower, at least not today. If it was archery... that might be a different story.

Besides, the white fuzzy tube sock demanded her attention. The ferret crawled out of a pocket and danced about in her lap, chattering. And then there was the war cry. Chuckling, Kalinda scooped the ball of fluff into her palms, petting her. After a moment, when she was sure Chaos wouldn't dance away, she snapped on her leash, so that she wouldn't get lost. The last time that had happened, Kalinda had had to search high and low to find the damn beast, only to find her nestled happily on a sleeping daughter of Aphrodite's chest. That had been fun, trying to get the ferret without waking lover girl- only to have to explain why she was essentially feeling the girl up.
She wasn't keen to have such an experience again.

The ferret certainly lived up to her name- Chaos. Perhaps it was a good thing that Kalinda lived alone in the cabin- Chaos just got into trouble. It didn't matter even if she as sleeping, she always seemed to knock something off, or mess about. Kalinda liked to joke that she just had too much energy, even sleep didn't turn it off. Watching Chaos as she scampered about, uncerncerned about her bothering any of the campers. She hadn't had any issues with it yet, and even if she did, it was too fucking bad for the other campers. They'd just have to put up with Chaos. Chaos was too cute anyhow, and the ferret knew it, used it to her advantage.

Leaning back in the stands once more, she let her head move to the sun again, closing her eyes and breathing deeply, letting the sun warm her.

Leaning low over the neck of the beautiful, graceful Pegasus. The white winged horse flew gracefully through the air- giving Imogen a perfect view of the camp. A bubble of laughter leapt out her throat and she sat up slightly, gently gripping Aethusa with her knees- completely trusting her to keep her safe and to catch her if she fell as she lifted her hands and gave a whoop of excitement. She could practically feel Aethusa's excitement, but they both knew that it couldn't last much longer. She had to get back to the camp proper. "Just a few more moments... "

Imogen let herself enjoy the feel of the air through her hair- unbound, it streamed behind her, almost like Aethusa's mane itself. As the Pegasus leaned down, she lowered herself once more, trusting in Aethusa to land safely. As they landed in the field, Imogen waited a few heart beats before she swung herself off, sliding down with as much grace as she could muster. Which is to say, she landed on her ass laughing breathlessly. Aethusa nuzzled at her gently, and Imogen consented to rise, laying a hand on the white side of Aethusa. "Thank you for the ride." She murmured softly, her gaze moving about them- certain that she had seen someone walking from the out skirts of the camp.

"There... " Stroking Aethusa another moment or two, she started towards the figure that was steadily getting closer. Were any campers meant to arrive today? She wasn't certain, but it didn't really matter. If one of the kids had found their way here, it meant it was probably the right time for them to come. Lifting a hand in greeting, Imogen closed the distance enough to shout, "Hiya!" cheerfully to them.

Talon

Talon barely spared a glance for the others around him- it didn't really matter who he was competing against, he'd kick all their asses anyway. His gaze lifted up and over the tower, examining it without much care. He'd find a way up- and he'd do it before anyone else could. There weren't many that could hope to compete with him, in any case. Shifting, he stretched his legs and with deliberate slow motions he cracked his nails crack... crack... crack... crack... . The rather satisfying crack and relief in his joints pleased him, and he rolled his weight onto the balls of his feet.

He would win. There was no doubt about that.

Oh, Ky' vie was certainly a strong contender, but she wouldn't win this time- he was going to make sure of it. Moving with as much strength as he could put into a run, he slipped between two poles and leaped to grab a rung, pulling himself up with sheer strength as he decided to tackle was in front of him- glancing up to make sure that he wasn't going to run into a dead end, or any trouble. He used his strength- he had no doubt that he could beat anyone strength wise- to throw himself up the tower, twisting here and there to ensure he wasn't going to get knocked by anything.

Shifting, he hung for a moment, drawing in a few deep breaths before he continued up. "You're the one that's going to need luck!" He shouted back, refusing to let himself lose as he continued.

@Blackmist16I get distracted by my marshmellow all the time
Penny

As Damien went to do what she should- mingle with the new members she had already seen in her quick glance- Penny couldn't help but take a few moments to herself. She had greatly missed the guild- and that shocked her. After everything... it was nice to have a place to come home to. A place to call home, even if home wasn't a place. She shifted lightly, letting herself relax as she let the scents- the scents she had dreamed off, the scents that had led her back here time and time again... the scents of home- wash over her. The scents of food, of the drinks everyone had, the smell of books, of paper, of every member.

She sighed contentedly, happily. Yeah, it was good to be home.

Her attention brought towards the rather energetic young person dancing- flouncing- around the guild hall. "Karn" Her voice full of warm, Penny watched as he came towards her- for she was certain that it was Karn, and not Edarn. Eitherway, she was happy to see them. "It's good to see you." She was not surprised at all to see Igantius rise up from where ever he had been and fly over. Penny reached up to him, letting the Exceed settle on her shoulder. Yet another thing she had missed- and that surprised her too. But Ignatius worried if he was too far from Rajah- and Penny liked knowing there was someone who could keep an eye on things. Such as her rather energetic and definitely a trouble-maker niece.

"How are you?" She asked Karn, her gaze settling on him once more, smile still on her features. It faded slightly as Brianna joined them. SHe shifted, knowing she ought to be welcoming to the newer members. It was still somewhat... unnerving to have those thoughts projected into her mind. "Thank you. How have things been, you've been doing well here?"
Jamie Beltras

Jamie leaned back in her desk chair, stretching with apparent relish as she turned her gaze away from the paperwork spread across the rather expansive desk. Her writing instruments were in reach, and a letter she was just finishing off lay spread out in front of her chair. Her gaze moved to the rather large Lacrima that showed the main hall of the guild, and she watched a moment. The various members of her guild, even some people of Magnolia- those that might need shelter for a few hours, or a free meal were always welcome, and Jamie was always happy to see it happening.

Her gaze moved to the main door, watching it for a moment, before it moved out through her office door- she rarely had it closed these days and couldn't really remember the last time she had had it shut. One thing about there no longer being secrets she had to protect was the openness, the relief... she sighed contentedly, her gaze roaming over the advertised job board, checking to ensure there were still plenty of jobs.

She'd have to update it soon, but for months there had been advertised help for demons... for witches... for all manor of things, and that was one of the main reasons Jamie was calling a meeting of the other Guild Leaders. She had thought that for a while they'd be able to relax, rebuild... gather new members... and for a little while it was like that. It was becoming increasingly evident that she couldn't ignore the signs any longer. She'd been gathering as much intel as she could. She had even heard rumor's of an alliance, of the Dark Guilds- those that they hadn't wiped out, the cunning, the down right nasty- joining together. If there was even a slither of truth, then they had to act.

As much as she wanted a few more years of peace... after everything... It just wasn't possible. They were as healed as they were ever going to be. As Light Guilds- as protectors- they had a responsibility. And she was sure that many wouldn't be opposed to a fight. Shaking her head, she glanced around the room, at the other Lacrima spread through it. Communication lacrima, teleportation lacrima, all, with various permissions, assigned to a person or place. Ways of talking without having to wait or travel. Many innkeepers through the world had one now, making it easier for jobs to be sent through, for rumor's to reach her, and other Guild Masters, faster.

None shone with light- no messages yet. Rising, Jamie gathered the plate she was certain Jarvis had given her- the sandwich on it gone, barely any crumbs left. She hadn't remembered eating, but she had been deep into her research. She needed to check on Sammy, should check on the rest of the guild. Slipping out of her office, Jamie moved behind the bar, setting the plate aside to be washed and glancing to the man pouring a few drinks. A smile spread across her features, before she sighed. "They'll be here shortly" She turned to reach for a plate of food, setting it on the bar, and turning back towards Jarvis, for a moment content where she was.
@Blackmist16 Okay, refreshed myself on Helios. Children of Helios and Apollo are indeed similar, Helios is a really interesting God, and I do like the difference in the names you've chosen, Radiant and Wrath. It suits a child of Helios. The sun is like that, isn't it? The ability to provide life, and the ability to take it.

I like it!
@Vicier What I'm thinking is that Sam's powers manifest in two separate ways: Radiant being the suns warmth to heal, grow plants and give warmth. Wrath the suns ability to burn, destroy and cause fires.

G'day! I'm currently doing a bit of research to help respond to this one, not ignoring you just want to say Hi and that I'm fielding this response, just might be more than a few moments ^.^ I'm refreshing myself on the world, it's been a little bit since we did this roleplay first up XD
@Vicier
Erin- (Her "tattoos" link is just a picture of her, not sure if that was intended or an accident.. If intended, what kind of tattoos does she have? ^^) Ooh, a Halloween babe. I feel like Hades planned that out, himself lmao With Erin, I feel like Brynn would find her quite fascinating. Would definitely think she's beautiful and have a crush on her but it's not something she'd ever speak of. Just quietly appreciated beauty. Maybe when Brynn catches her sitting by the fire reading, she'd join her at the opposite side of the fire (just trying to be respectful and give her her space) and read quietly with the cackling sound of the fire as background noise. ^^

Adeline- FINALLY!! Another 16-year-old! xD Brynn would be very attracted to (in a platonic way) her innocent spirit. With her being against fighting or any type of violence, not sure if that could hinder their friendship in any way, but maybe the fact that Brynn primarily uses her fighting skills for defensive fighting it might ease Addie's mind? Brynn would definitely be protective of Addie. (I *LOVE* her theme song <3 song was *immediately* added to my playlist back when it first came out. ^^)

Ky' vie- I think that Brynn would be more than happy to be friendly with Ky' vie, with Ky' vie also being extremely close to Brynn's own 'big brother'.. I *do* feel however that she'd be a little cautious around her. The fact that she basically explodes in flames when upset xD With how much she cares for Greyson, she'd just be slightly stand-offish (not in her attitude towards Ky' vie but in how close she allows the two to be). And, she can *totally* see that Ky' vie likes Greyson. x) She would never say anything to either of them, just keeps her observation to herself, but that's why Brynn is a bit stand-offish. She doesn't want her big ol' softie friend to get hurt.

Octavia- (GAHHHHH!! "My sister, my responsibility." EEEEEE!! Sorry. I *****LOVE***** The 100 x) ) Okay, so.. I could definitely see them getting along, or at the very least Brynn looking up to O. But for them to both be children of the God and Goddess of War, as well as them both having Hermes as a Legacy.... duuuuude. Can you imagine them tag-teaming an entire team during Cap the Flag? .... piece of cake xD

Ariana- Gah. Ruby <3 Anyway xD Uhm, as far as these two go, I can see Brynn liking her aesthetic and music taste, but as far as the partying and being openly flirty.. if Ariana was to ever throw it her way, even just teasingly... it'd make Brynn visibly uncomfortable (in an awkward and shy kind of way lmao) x)

@MarshiestMallow
Niesha- (OMG ITS LIDIA FROM TEEN WOLF!!!!) I think these Athena daughters of ours have a sort of complex of trying to be like their mom with the pet owls xD and the fact they're *both* bi-sexual. I love it xD Brynn would definitely look up to Niesha. She'd love to learn how to cook from her. Vernon was an excellent cook and with the time they spent training together, he never took the time to teach her how to cook, as well.

Michael- "Make me like Mike." lol With him being her half-sibling, she would definitely get along with him. Maybe they take part in some video game playing.. Saturday nights, maybe? ^^

Pierre- (ITS HIGH KING PETER!!!!!!!<3) I really think that, especially with his Legacy being Athena, Brynn would be real friendly with him. Potentially even have a slight crush on him. Maybe they speak French together when they interact? Brynn having done so to try and break the ice, when they first met and it was just something that kinda stuck, maybe? Just a suggestion, I'm not demanding it by any means xD And/or they could exchange book title suggestions, since they both like reading. ^^

Imogen- She's such a cutie! Omg. They'd definitely have to know each other on some level, with Greyson being Brynn's best friend.. Brynn would LOVE the Sea Monkey farm. (not sure if you noticed or if you were trying to pull the ol' repeat sentences to make up for word count {something I did in high school on reports xD}, but the first and second line in her personality are the exact same, love.) Maybe they take up a sport together in their off-time? Something 1x1 like volleyball or tennis, or.. play together against other campers? Considering the closeness she has with Greyson, she could easily see Imogen as a sort of older sister figure in her life.

Kalinda- (Firstly, her header picture isn't showing. Not sure if its just my laptop or if it's simply just not working, just thought I'd bring attention to it ^^) I'm honestly kinda stuck, on Kali.... Dx Not sure why, I'm just kinda stumped.

Haha, yeah, I love Holland, she's such a good face claim- got so many emotive states and covers a broad range. Plus. Lydia XD Honestly a lot of my female characters are bi-sexual, because I am and unless they are dead straight... it's always bi. As for Niesha would gladly do that- and she'd definitely try to be a good role model to her ^.^

Michael is always happy to play video games- and while he might seem like the pasty white geek type, he does like to be active... even if he can be clumsy. Video games are easier haha

I like that for Pierre- who is actually based on a different character that isn't from Paris, so he's somewhat different- and I did change his personality up quite a bit for this, so its almost as if the two are brothers rather then the same person and I'm rambling. Right. Pierre and Brynn. he'd definitely like speaking in French with her ^.^ I like that idea a lot. And yes, when I first created this character, I wasn't sure on the face claim so I pondered a good long while and... I thought back over characters in movies and shows, and kept coming back to Peter, so... that was that haha

Oh, god. I probably just kept the line the same when I was re-writing the CS, and didn't edit out that line when I got rid of the rest of the old personality XD I shall fix all that up in a minute haha. But yes, Immy is a very friendly person. She'd enjoy Byrnn, defintely ^.^

As for Kalinda... well, a lot of her relationships with other campers will probably have to be developed as we go along. She's one that can go several different ways, depending on how people act with her, and if they break through the exterior that she has. She is one of my long-standing characters, one of my very first when I first started roleplaying... jesus, over 16 years ago now. She's got many different versions, and she's just one I can't seem to retire. I always come back to her.

Just a quick response for the moment, yes, Kalinda's header pic isn't working. I forgot to change it out last night XD and yeah, being stumped with her is okay- sometimes I am stumped too. She's a complicated creature.

I shall respond more shortly, just got home and my desk is a mess
My characters are all in the CS tab now, replacing my lovely little Marshmallow XD I do need to do some tweaks and things, but still!
I'm just excited to get back into roleplaying on here XD I'm so damn excited, I've truly missed it.
