Bio

Very well, where do I begin?

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet.

My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard, really. At the age of twelve, I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles.

There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking. I highly suggest you try it.

We already had the perfect John Constantine. His name was Keanu Reeves. Moving on!

1980's era Sting has something to say about that...

<Snipped quote by Master Bruce>

Luke Evans looks too swarmy for me and Jon Hamm too old for what the rumors have been saying is going to be a Year One movie. Honestly have no idea who I'd cast, but I feel as though Bats needs to be played by someone who can pull off classically good look but also have enough gravitas and roughness to him to be the Dark Knight.

Batman's admittedly a pretty tall order in terms of casting. You have to juggle alot of plates as an actor, I imagine.

I trust Reeves to choose somebody capable of bringing it to the table. He cast Toby Kebbell and Woody Harrelson as the villains in both of his Planet Of The Apes movies, and they both put in fucking amazing performances. War For The Planet Of The Apes is 90% of the reason why I'm hyped for him to be the one to tackle Batman next, as it's a brilliant piece of filmmaking.
New game!

Who would you guys fan cast as your characters.

Hmm. This Batman, specifically? Probably a 30-year-old Richard Armitage.

Though I could also see a young Michael Fassbender, Luke Evans, or Jon Hamm working quite well.

Coincidentally, aside from Fassbender due to his established role as Magneto, those actors are also who I hope Matt Reeves is at least looking at for his Batman movie. After two and a half movies, I'm ready to see Affleck retire the role. He just doesn't seem to be having a good time, and I've never really bought into him as Batman anyway, given that most of the actors to have played the role didn't have huge careers prior to being cast. All I could ever see was Ben Affleck in a Batman costume, given he was a veteran actor/director when he landed it.

Though, by that logic, Reeves should be looking at nothing but unknowns.

Eh. This is why I'm not a casting director.
Glad to know that y'all are enjoying the game. It genuinely makes me happy to know that something I was almost sure was dead and buried for good lives on in some form or another. You guys have really helped re-energize my drive to write again, and I can't thank all of you enough for it.

That said, though, as a wise old sage once told me...

POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!
But you know what killed UDC 2.0? And World of Heroes? And All-Star Marvel? And every other game on the Hype? People not posting. So while we're all patting ourselves on the back for games we played a decade ago, let's not ignore that we've got a killer game going right now.

@Byrd Man? Did you switch accounts?

(My next post is half-written and sitting in a Word document. I've become very aware of the fact that I need to high-tail it to get this Deadshot arc out of the way, because I still want to get to at least one of the arcs I had actually planned beyond all of the introductory stuff before the season ends.)
I will say, @Master Bruce, that while I have fond memories of Selina Kyle, undercover cop, I do feel the whole "make Batman's side characters into cops" trope has played itself out, and I only wish I could've thought to make her a crime boss' daughter as you have. Now there's a Catwoman run I could've sunk my teeth into...

You're really gonna like my next post, then...

(Also, I can't take full credit for that. Jeph Loeb was actually the one to establish that Falcone is kinda/sorta/maybe Selina's biological father in the Dark Victory storyline, which has since been retconned. I just took that ball and ran with it, because I've always been fascinated by the idea.)

Once you got Riddler, you won't want any other diddler.

Now we all know what the question mark cane is really for...
This is definitely code for a sex scene.
There's still a chance here. You can write a scene between your two characters that will put all of Nate's fantasies to shame.

You say that in jest, but as I remember it, Eddie's Ultimate Selina did end up fucking Byrd's Nygma.

Traitors. The both of 'em.
Do you remember the Maroni wedding arc? Your Batman, Eddie's Selina, my Nygma, and Spike's Bane all converged on the same place for a fucking hell of a reception.

Fuck me, that was some of the best interaction I've ever taken part in. That was actually my first big real fight with Spike's Bane, setting up the whole Ultimate Knightfall stuff. I also really fondly recall your part in that arc itself, where you had Nygma pose as Dr. Death to lure Batman into a trap spearheaded by the GCPD, weakening him to the point that Bane could attack and take him out.
I think this was my blue collar Batman idea that I always talked to MB about. Of course when I get to do it, MB is nowhere to be found. But his absence was really the only reason I got to do it in the first place.

Yeah, you never got to do that, but you did actually do a really intriguing run with Green Arrow that utilized the blue collar idea. I still want to rip you off one day by having all of Bruce's sidekicks/wards/adopted kids just be a series of biological children, which was a surprisingly effective change to Ollie's character.
