Command & Conquer: Chronostorm (Essence20 system)

The second Tiberium War is in full swing, the one who calls himself the Messiah of NOD, Kane, thought dead after the Ion Cannon strike at his Temple Prime in Sarajevo now turns out to be alive and well, commanding a freshly rallied NOD. The world is shaking, not helped by the fact that the Tiberium that poisons the earth is spreading and mutating the whole planet at an alarming rate... But, there is one individual who is overjoyed by this. General Nick "Havoc" Parker, is a soldier who strikes eternal fear in to the hearts of NOD worshippers everywhere. They say Nick killed more people in the last war than the Ion Cannon, and that's probably true.

With Kane back on the scene, Nick has come out of retirement and has now reforged the Dead 6 Commando strike force with fresh young recruits. Their first mission, storm a NOD base in the Golan Heights, where enough power from the NOD Energy Grid is being sent to power 10 fortresses of the likes of Sarajevo...

Character Creation: Any Joe Faction allowed (Joes, Tiger Force, Arashikage, etc.) all roles, Influences and origins from the Joe books, Roles, Influences and Origins from other books will have to be discussed with DM first.

So, for story, im thinking this as a set-up.

"Duel Monsters. Created by Maximillian Pegasus as a game to entertain children, but ended up practically subsuming culture. What few know is the fact that the game was merely rediscovered and patented. Descended from the ancient art known as "Shadow Games" the spirits of another realm were captured in large stone tablets and used to Duel each other. Duel Monsters is merely a more convenient version of it. But the world from which these spirits came still exists. And the humans who are capable of commanding them. Their descendants still exist in the modern world.

Seto Kaiba, the man who brought the Duel Monsters to the masses, Yugi Moto, the King of Games were but two of the descendants. But family trees branch and there are plenty of others out there. Those who find themselves inextricably called to this world.

Now, that world is under attack. Dark forces move within. A virus that corrupts any and all it touches. Creating a swarm of evil..."

As i said, im still thinking of what makes the gang so super-special-awesome. I'm thinking that maybe each character is chosen by a creature to be their patron. I kinda want to emphasise the OG style of "2-3 Archetypes per deck" kind of story.

@IAmTheIsland As a DM for tabletop, i do have to constantly tell people "If you are having trouble with the RP, then remember one simple thing: We are all adults who can partake in adult conflict resolution." Pretty much, if you're having trouble coming up with ideas for stuff going forward, just say it in the OOC. Tell us where you want to take the character and let us help you get him there.

To help me out on this, what kinds of "Special" cards would people like to work their characters towards?

Example: Yugi starts with his grandfathers deck where Dark Magician is his prized monster, but Dark Magician isn't exactly the be-all-end-all of power. Eventually he manages to unlock the powers of the feared Egyptian God's. And when the God's are stolen from him, the mythical dragon Timaeus grants him his power to defeat the ancient threat of Orichalcos.

So, the "Special" cards for Yugi would be the Egyptian God's and Eye of Timaeus.

Also, would people be interested in saying that the reason that they can even do what they do in this world is because of something like the Millenium Items? Or maybe the signs of the Crimson Dragon?

Pretty much, some advice on "Why the gang are as super special awesome as they are?" Would be helpful.

There does seem to be a massive alignment of "People who like KH" and "People who like Deacendants." Personally, I like the idea of both, but neithers execution.

My honest to god reaction to the first Deacendants film.

The only reason I didn't send that email was because, at the time, Disney were poised for world domination and I thought it might be bad for future employment prospects

@Sep@Half Pint Sorry about the "It'll just get rejected" remark. It was meant to be "Quiet resignation that Matt's idea's don't particularly work in this specific setting that Bruce is going for" but came across as "Matt petulantly throws his toys out the pram"

Again, both of those idea's have the same problem of "Why would they be putting their asses on the line for these people?"

I mean, Gorilla City doesn't like to interact with humans at the best of times and Black Adam is... Well, he's a self-centered prick... That being said, an idea of Adam maybe waking up, seeing the attempt at Mutant Genocide and having his own Vietnam Flashbacks, before saying to America "Fuck you, i'm annexing this part of America and founding my own kingdom where the Mutants will live under their protecting tyranical despot i'd like to see you stop me." Is actually kind in character for his hero runs. The only problem with that is that it would ABSOLUTELY throw a massive wrench in the works for at least someone else's run as i imagine a few heroes would definitely not take kindly to invasion, considering this whole thing started with an invasion.

But damn, now i kinda want to do the "Black Adam Is A Prick To America And Keeps Upping The Ante Until He Accidentally Founds Genosha." storyline.

@Half Pint Around the idea of Wakanda being a safe harbour for Mutants and a rogue prince and his future queen fighting the good fight despite the insistance of everyone else?

Not really... Maybe Wondie and Steve... But the problem with that is "Why would either of them really put themselves out there for Mutants?" With T'Challa and Ororo, it makes perfect sense, they are her people and he can't very well stand by while his beloved's people are being hurt, especially if it's the Morlocks who she shares a special connection to. But with Wondie and Steve, it'd be a bit out of left field. And also a hell of a time being that Themyscera would only accept the Females because the males would just be... Well, depending on the continuity, mated and kicked out at best, or straight up murdered without the mating at worst.

@Sep It's a good option... Unfortunately, and it pains me to say this, i never really got into Inhumans (Recently watched Inhumanoids, but that's a VERY different thing... Although Marvel did do a few issue run of their comics...) I appreciate that Lockjaw is the single most important character in Marvel Universe and anyone that hurts him is the one thing that unites, literally, the entire universe into action... But the rest of them i'm rather unfamiliar with, at least not familiar enough to really build a story on.

Fuck it, i might just give this whole RP a miss and wait for the next one, since every idea gets rejected regardless.
