"Power development" Becca repeated quietly with a nod "it sounds challenging....and we're all very different animals, so no way to know what we're all going to face either." She looked round to Jakobe - he was so big, she hoped he wouldn't have to face anything nasty. She then looked down at her own hands; how do you power develop her powers? Was there more to this...camouflage that she didn't know?

"Levitation" Alice said with a nod. Resisting calling it a lazy parlour trick, she watched the witch making the beads float. Focusing energy into my hand is a piece of cake she thought to herself, smiling at Molly. "I'm happy to give it a try!" Once the beads were passed over, she balanced it as Molly had done, leaving it on her wrist next to the bracelets, and focused herself.

...nothing happened. She frowned more, and tried again.

"Energy focus is something I should do. Why cannae...oh don't tell me" her eyes moved to the bracelets on her arms "is this thing not letting me focus it? My abilities are a focus too... God damn it! This is unfair!" She just managed to stop herself throwing the beads across the room in anger, dropping them onto the bed instead and moving to try and get the bracelets off again - which was pointless, as they wouldn't move. After a while she just flopped back onto the bed, hitting it a few times. "Guess I am entirely useless until this is resolved" she finally said with a huff.

"Ah, but what if it's a secret? Maybe it's something rare, powerful. Hm..." Alice looked thoughtful, then after a few moments said "if you show me some magic and keep it a secret, I can tell you. Deal? It could be fun to learn magic, even if my grandmother would be horrified at the concept" she chuckled "she was a wee bit of a purist. Disowned me ma for marrying a normal."

"I grew up on an army base, I woulda traded you" Alice smiled as the girl joined her, turning on her side and looking at Molly "me Fortune-telling skills are a bit rusty, and all me powers are a wee bit..." she held up one wrist "shacked. There is more to a Seer than fortune telling you know, not that I can show you."

"Petty? Me last heist was in the thousands! Although I guess I shouldn't really say that like it's a good thing" Alice chuckled as she flopped on the bed, a little disappointed that Molly didn't join in. Her smile faded though as she continued "I like running, climbing, anything sporting really. Took that from me Pa, as an army man he was quite the health nut. Ma didn't mind really. Doesn't matter now either really, as both are dead. Last of me kind, the true Seers. Well, minus an ancestor whose more a hermit now. Fled from civilization as he cannae stand seeing around people anymore. What about you?"

"Oh...so you were...forced?" That was horrible, and Becca had a look of sympathy about her "that's horrible. I can't imagine what that's like, although I guess we're all in the same boat now. I don't think I would have come here if I'd known about this...not that my life before this was much better" she looked at Jakobe for a few moments before turning back to Roxy "what happens now though?"

It was beginning to get a little too bright at this door, so Hayley decided to allow the lightstudents to get comfortable with each other (or at least stop blinding her) and walked away from that room. She could leave her stuff there later - instead she decided to see what the other students were like. Surely they all couldn't be this bright, right?

Well, one was a rude brat, so they clearly all weren't.

And so, with her bag on her back still, Hayley walked through the dorm area. Not barging in on any rooms, but getting a feeling of the surroundings - a lot of different kinds of people here after all.
