So I'm REALLY stuck between two character ideas right now. Well, personalities.

Is it okay to have two characters? I really want to use both ideas but I just can't decide between them.

Character Concept: A masked hero looking to become champion and a symbol of justice for all the little ninos.

Name: Dragón Rayo

Gender: Manly Man

Background: I was only a little chico. I was foolish at times because I was naïve. I did not know of the dangers and evil which lurked in the world. I was only a kid so I could not do anything to change the outcome, but I did grow stronger.
For my training I watched telenovelas, or luchador wrestling. I admired these men for they had put themselves out there to purge the evil that reside in the world.
My role-model, El Tigre, had defeated countless enemies like El Diablo, El Asesino, and more. I vowed I would follow his steps and become a luchador of justice. I trained off and on….like once a week, but I was slowly getting stronger. I did no change my eating habits; however, I was not taking midnight snacks anymore.
Once I had realized I had died, I realized my goals were crushed. My dreams of becoming a hero had been vanquished and the evil had won. It was then I was given an opportunity to become a hero, or a symbol of justice. I then adopted the alias, Dragón Rayo!

Alas de Dragon: Rayo is given an increased boost in jump. His legs will bring him to greater heights with ease. This technique is certainly going to help him to practice his high-flying moves and might be the closest way for him to gain the sensation of wings.

Rugido de Fuerza: This particular technique begins with Rayo performing a ferocious roar. The roar will then bring great strength. If there is a car that needs lifting, Rayo needs to dig deep and let out a battle cry. Afterwards, the car will be easy pickings.

Desfibrilador: Rayo summons his lightning from within! His hands and feet are enveloped in lighting. This ability will grant him an attack boost and act as a defibrillator towards enemies.

Background:
Mikal in his previous life was a timid man who always acted civil and well mannered even if at times he came off as unsocial and a jerk with some of the comments he says that goes though his filter. Mikal was closed off to his family and the few friends he had but as he always prefers being by himself playing video games, reading books and drawing, while doing this all away from others even the one's he love, this loner attitude made him lose contact with many of his friends when he went to Universty to study to become a Nurse so he was left on his own in a new city faraway from many of his contacts. In the new city Mikal made a few friends who he hanged out with a few times out of classes. It was during one of these outings that he died. While walking though the snowy path by the University's River Mikal was walking too close to the half frozen river then he suddenly slipped on an icy rock and fell though the thin ice of the River, Mikal in a panic tried to swim back to the river shore and even some of his friends tried to save him but it was too late, he died of hypothermia before he drowned and his body fell to the bottom of the river. Where it still is to this day as the current made it very hard and dangerous for people to collect. If you told Mikal that there was life after death he would've been relieved if dubious, but still dying in the way he did still sends shivers down his spine, so he has made it so in his next life that he can't ever freeze to death the way he did. Even if eating people and monsters whole is a weird side effect.

Character Concept: A rambunctious young lass with a heart of gold. Well, maybe just bronze.
Name: Yamada Akari
Gender: Female
Background: In life, Akari was a cheerful, if somewhat-simple girl. A friend to all living things, infinitely peppy, and loved brawling more than anything else. Despite being known as the kind of girl that would wear flowers in her hair, or decorate the school with varying shades of pink because it 'looked cuter', she was surprisingly eager to fight with the burliest of warriors. Or schoolkids. This... unexpected hobby of hers made it difficult to get a good grasp on her personality, and some people even wondered if she was even a girl - her only known berserk button.
Sadly, it was the pressing of this button that lead to her doom, later in life. Returning from a dojo she studied under, a fellow student, jealous of her skill compared to his own, incurred her wrath. The resulting chase lead to poor Akari slipping and falling into a nearby river, falling unconscious. Luckily enough, Akari seems to have moved on from that unfortunate accident. At the very least, this new life means more people to punch in epic combat, so why stay sad? Hell, she even got to give herself cute new fox-ears!

• Akari Boom - By channeling the energy within her body, Akari is able to direct a small, ki-based strike to an opponent. Essentially a palm strike with extra 'oomph'. It is the bane of brick walls everywhere.

Character Concept: A girl with a keen eye and a cheerful attitude to brighten/mess up your day.

Name: Tori Amos

Gender: Female

Background: Tori had always been a sickly child, forced to stay in bed and only dream about what normal kids could do. Run around, play catch, all that stuff. Instead of that, though, all Tori could really do was watch TV, read books, and even play video games when she was feeling better. The only friends she had were her parents, occasional birds that flew onto her windowsill when she put crumbs there, and her hamster June.

Ultimately, however, before her 18th birthday, her condition took a turn for the worse. Tori was rushed to the hospital, but there was nothing anyone could do. Before too long, she died. Fortunately for her, she was given a second chance at life in the form of the reincarnation screen. She had made her new appearance as close to her original as possible while also making it fit her ideal form of herself. She had even put in her own name; after all, it was her name. All that was left was to push the "Finalize" button.

Profession: Squire, Monster Hunter
Personality: Charles is bitter. Ten years ago, when the demons invaded, so much was taken from him and since then a hot red fury has festered within him. He hates demons, with passion a human can have only for his lover or nemesis. Killing demons, exterminating them, that is Charles raison d'etre and in these ten years he has forgotten the core tenants of the kingdom’s knights: protect the weak. There’s little thought for the weak in Charles’ mind. He hunts demons for the family he lost, for the lands which were his birthright, for the kingdom in which he was the scion of one of the greatest noble houses, for the life of comfort and luxury which was violently transformed into one of never-ending wandering and struggle.

Charles does not believe that he will ever get back what he lost, and that is perhaps the darkest aspect of his anger. It is devoid of hope. He sees no life past his war with demons, no light at the end of this dark tunnel. He has already come to terms with the fact that he will most likely die fighting demons, like his master did before him. But that’s alright, for Charles. If it is his destiny to be killed by those vermin, he’ll struggle to take as many of them to the grave with him. He’ll fight so hard and kill so many, that when he’s finally gone demons will look behind their shoulders, fearing that even dead Charles may come in pursuit at any moment.

From outsider’s perspective Charles is a young man of few words. This is not because he is inherently gloomy or asocial, but because Charles dislikes speaking much ever since he acquired his demon markings. He is ashamed of the demonic taint he carries and hates showing it to strangers. Even among fellow Stormbringers, who also carry markings of demons, Charles feels slight discomfort with his inhumanely long and sharp fangs being seen.

Bio: Charles was raised in a huge family estate, looked after by dozens of servants who dared not to disobey any of his wishes, and surrounded by luxury rivalled only by that of the king. As the firstborn of the Duke de Berthain, one of the most powerful men in the kingdom, his life was pretty much planned out for him from the beginning. He was to be taught from a young age about the matters of war, politics, art, history, literature, then, when he was older, he was to be taught combat. When he reached his teens Charles was to become squire and, upon becoming an adult, he was to be made a full knight and marry a daughter of lineage equally as noble as his.

For the first fourteen years things went as the Duke de Berthain desired, but the day after Charles became a squire, when he was supposed to leave on a questing journey with his master Sir Bernard Marath, fate put an end to all plans of the old Duke and every mortal in the city of Veiron. With the fall of the King and the demonic invasion, city was quickly destroyed and everyone in it slaughtered. Charles himself, lost to shock and horror upon seeing the hordes from hell and the destruction they spread, would have lost his life if it weren’t for the bravery of his new master. Sir Bernard sacrificed his life to protect his new squire and ensure Charles’ escape to safety outside of Veiron.

Upon burring Sir Bernard, Charles was left without anyone and anything. With only his mount, armour, weapons and a week worth of provisions, he left on his questing journey. Soon after his departure he met Alicia de Cassaris, a woman he knew by reputation if not personally. She was a kind of woman that was used as an example of how a lady ought not to behave to his sisters. Finding that Alicia shares the same disdain for demons as he does, the two teamed up and set out on their crusade against demons together.

Equipment: Full plate armour, lance, shield, sword.

Notes: Mount which Charles rides is a beast called Galheat, a creature which resembles a horse-sized ram. It has the same strength, speed and stamina as a horse, but it also has horns which it can use in battle. Galheats are highly intelligent animals and can live for a very long time. Sournas, the particular Galheat in Charles’ possession, was a present from his father upon becoming a squire and has been loyal friend and companion to the young man in these past ten years.

• Background: A girl enamoured with stories of heroes, the one who would eventually become Ranca Blom always had her heads in the clouds. She was kind of a nerd, and never really had many friends, with most people thinking she was just kind of weird, but she always stood up for the friends she did have. She was happy enough with her lot, but always felt something was missing despite not being able to figure out just what that something was. Unfortunately, her fixation on heroics proved to be her undoing, as one day whilst returning home she spotted a young child in the middle of the road, about to be hit by an oncoming truck. Acting as fast as she could, she was able to save the child... And was left right in the way of the runaway vehicle. Naturally, there was no way a girl with her head full of heroic nonsense could defeat several tons of rampaging steel, which... Leads us to her current predicament. Life after death is a bit different than what she expected, but she's going to take it at her own pace and grab the afterlife by the horns. Maybe this time she can be the hero she'd always dreamed of being.

So I came up with a well-rounded warrior with hopefully fair and balanced martial arts techniques, I tried not to make them too powerful of course. Then the actual character is a little more interesting, or well at least I tried to make it so.

Character Concept: "A man turned catgirl because life is too short to be serious all the time."
Name: Sonia Falkren
Gender: Female
Background: Seeing as the last life doesn't matter anymore, neither does his former name so instead he'll be known as "Mr. A" This Mr. A didn't lead a terribly exciting life, actually his life was anything but that in every sense of the word. Mr. A was just a simple salaryman who worked from nine to five every day of the week and Mr. A didn't have much to show for the mind numbing daily grind. He was unmarried with no children, and no real property to speak of, in all honestly Mr. A quite literally had nothing. In the end death didn't have much of an effect on the poor man, as far as Mr. A was concerned he was already gone. Now how did he die? Well... he choked to death on a poorly chewed piece of food during dinner, and seeing as no one was around to save him, you could say the rest was history. Then something for once happened, he was presented with something amazing, he of course was given a chance at a new life. As Mr. A stared at the empty character sheet a single spontaneous thought came to him.

"Fuck it, I'm going to be a catgirl."

Then so it was, Mr. A became Sonia the Catgirl. He... or she as it was now, was determined to actually make something of hi- her new existence, to make it worthwhile, to basically make up for her absolutely bland years as a boring human. She looked forward to the new world. It was going to be fun.

Character Concept: "A very crass but ultimately caring little gremlin."

Gender: Male or Female... sometimes neither
Background: Whoever Germ was before is a close guarded secret, so allow me to divulge all of it right now. To put it bluntly, Germ wasn't in the best situation. To spare any nasty details they had to become a "Person of the Night" to make ends meet, a profession Germ was not very happy doing. But like a soldier they pushed on, not willing to give up like the others fate dealt a crappy hand to. All was tolerable until Death came knocking, one of those wrong place, wrong time deals. Two of the various local gangs were having a turf war and a stray bullet just happened to find it's way into a new home, Germs chest. And so they died, a nasty hand in fates little deck of cards. But, all is not lost. With a second chance at life Germ has found a new form and a new purpose, to be better than they could ever be before.

-Gunk Shot, at its core the gunk shot is an adhesive, slightly acidic ink ball that Germ can throw at people.

Character Concept: A workaholic who never stops striving for the top.
Name: Takeyoshi Sakujima

Background: Despite the current name, Takeyoshi (formerly known as Tony Lin, the son of an Chinese banker and an American chef) was an up-and-coming banker interning for a major firm on Wall Street, thanks to a few lucky series of events during his studies at Columbia (and a few strings pulled by his father). A few years out of college, Tony was making enough money to buy his own little apartment in midtown Manhattan, and though he never really got off the ground when he kicked the bucket, it'd be difficult to say that he didn't work himself dry every day until then. Though he always tried to turn a profit, Tony never really splurged on anything; anything left, he used to either send to his little brother (who would, in turn, pester him on his off days to hang out and watch anime) or try and play the stock market.
'course, markets don't matter much if you're dead, after all. Having been caught as a bystander during an armed heist and a bullet shot right between the eyes and two in the heart, Tony found himself floating in limbo after bleeding to death in the middle of the street. His subsequent jump into another world was... Well, unexpected, to say the least, but at the very least he decided to change himself to fit (what he assumed to be) his brother's ideal setup in this sort of situation. Learn from the most knowledgeable and all that... Right?
Granted, that didn't mean he wasn't going to try and add his own little spin on things as well. Cheated of the career ahead of him, the only thing left to do now was, well... Do it again.

So, for example, he might know how to use a spell or set up a barrier, but he might not have the energy required to even use it at all.

Hey everyone, this looks like as good a place as any for me to start on the site. I tried not to make it too long, my characters can go on for pages sometimes.

Hider

Character Concept: A carefree man held back by his past, or perhaps a bitter man putting on a front.

Name: Harmonic A. Mutt

Gender: A guy.

Background: Harmonic, it would be silly to use his old name, used to be a supervisor. A man climbing the corporate ladder, constantly trying to hold on from the deluge of order raining on him from above. Constantly adding to that deluge to the people under him. Meeting endless deadlines, endless quotas, endless profits. It wasn't a position he ever wanted to be in, but he had a family to support. He was still young when he gave up his dream of being a musician, and instead learned business.

At first it was a good life. His wife worked part time to cover the bills, and the corporate ladder was more of a dream than a goal. It was when his wife died that what was once a dream became a necessity. His son needed to be well fed, well schooled, and able to have a better future than his father. It meant that they never saw much of each other, but Harmonic was set in his position.

So he went through life, growing more bitter, more prone to drink, more stressed by his work. He poured his heart into his career until his heart burst, only in his forties, and he died in his office. Surrounded by the work that had become his life.

Truly he was shocked, and a little annoyed, to find out there was an afterlife. It had always been against his beliefs, but he couldn't deny his own experience. It took him some time to decide whether to accept a new life. Did he deserve it? Would it matter in the end, since he would never see his son again anyway?

After some contemplation, he decided it was a chance he shouldn't pass up. A chance to shake off the bitterness that had become his life, indulge in his dreams, and perhaps even atone for the suffering he caused the people clinging to the lower rungs of the ladder. He thought of his dreams, of the stories he had read in his youth, the men he once admired, and picked a new name. Perhaps he even took a few years off his appearance while he was at it.

For what felt like the first time in a decade Harmonic smiled, and pressed "FINALIZE".

Level: One.

Class: Spoony Bard.

Race: He's just a boring human with boring human traits.

Attribute: Finesse

Thaumaturgy: He didn't study for years to become a wizard, his spells come from his singing as a natural effect. He prefers to fight a conflict up close, supporting himself with his magic. It overall makes him a balanced fighter compared to those relying solely on force or magic.

Spells:
Darkness: Harmonic's preferred way of fighting. While his singing gives his position away, he still has an edge in an exchange of blows due to his extensive use of this technique. It spreads outwards as he sings, so a longer verse will mean a larger field of affect.

Boiling: While not cruel enough to have tried this on a person, this spell causes an object to heat up quickly. As with darkness, the longer the verse the hotter an object gets. Harmonic has never tried to melt steel with it, but it cooks dinner in a pinch.

Entanglement: While not confined to mother nature, the spell typically manifests as roots coming forth from the ground to ensnare the legs of Harmonic's enemies. Or their arms, if the space is sufficiently narrow. Much like with the above two examples, the longer the verse Harmonic chants, the thicker and farther they wind around the opponent.

For more than a thousand years, the continent of Revea was united under the prosperous rule of the Alidan emperors. However, fifty years ago, when Alidan Nevus took the throne, a reign of tyranny began. The young emperor abused and exploited his people, using the accursed Anathema to keep the population in line and crush any who would rise against him. So great was Nevus’ hubris that he even challenged gods, believing himself to be their better.

But his evil ways were not meant to last, for the Heroes arose all over Revea to challenge the tyrant, each wielding Divine Relics and leading a whole army against the hordes of Anathema which did the emperor’s bidding. There were 8 heroes:

Yar- the Dragon of the Rainbow,
Shingen- the Crimson Knight,
Gurthal- the Lion from the North,
Tarsaiq- the Bravest of the Heroes,
Ilufar- the Arrow of Certain Death,
Tzianxi-the Son of Heaven,
Kisha- the Grand Alchemist
and Pelephon- the Master of a Thousand Spells.

After bloody struggle which lasted over many years, Heroes finally broke Nevus’ armies and forced him to wall himself within the Eternal City, the empire’s capital. Alas, Heroes were robbed of their final triumph, for the mad tyrant, loath to admit defeat, destroyed himself together with the city, cursing the lands for miles around it.

With Alidan Nevus defeated peace that many have given lives for did not return to Revea. With their common enemy gone Heroes turned to each other, carving their own countries out of the empire, waging series of ever escalating wars with ambition to one day become the new emperors of the entire continent.

Gods

There are three major gods in Revea, but they are not part of the same pantheon. Instead each is its own religion and their followers only begrudgingly accept (or not all) any god besides their own as a true divine being. Below are only their names and some attributes associated with each god (because exact views differ from region to region).

Kilin- Sun, Light, Justice, Wrath, Valour, Eternal Curse
Worshipers of Kilin are referred to as “Kilians”. Most of Revean countries are Kilian.

Meya- Moon, Luck, Change, Knowledge, Cunning, Madness
Worshipers of Meya call themselves “Meyans” but everyone else calls them “the Others” because the religion is not originally from Revea. Today Meya is worshipped only in the Celestial Empire.

Rusvaatti- Earth, Spirits, Primeval Force, Joy, Fertility, Entropy
Rusvaatti is worshiped only by Fay. It is unknown if Fay are Fay because they worship Rusvaatti or they worship Rusvaatti because they are Fay.

Common Sense

These are the things that people in Revea will often mention completely certain that you'll know what they're talking about.

Language
The way language works in Revea is very simple- all followers of one god are able to fully understand each other without actually bothering to learn other person's language. Pay attention, this doesn't mean that they speak one language! There are dozens of different languages, but between leaving your mouth and entering the other person's ear, the words you speak are magically translated to the listener's mother tongue.

This works only for spoken words, written texts remain the language they are written in. Fortunately for worshipers of Kilin a script was developed during the days of the first Alidan emperors made out of symbols which represent concepts, so despite words sounding different in another language when pronounced the meaning of the written text will be understood. The Celestial Empire uses a letter-per-sound script while Fay don't write at all!

Normally, when speaking with worshipers of other gods you hear their words as they are meant to sound, so you'll have to learn their language, but for some reason you are able to understand and be understood by everyone so every religion thinks you are one of theirs!

Money
Money is simple in this world: 1 gold = 12 silver = 240 copper. Now, different countries have different names for each type of coin, but the Heroes didn't change much how coinage works from how it was during the Alidan Empire so the coins have more or less the same worth throughout Revea.

Fay
Worshipers of the god Rusvaatti, Fay inhabit forests of Revea. They are not governed by the same laws as mortals- they cannot die a natural death, they are not born like mortals, they have strange way of interacting with their environments through contracts and they all possess some kind of supernatural bane. Because of their mysterious nature Fay often do things which seem nonsensical or downright suicidal. It is impossible to reason with them because their reasoning and common sense is different than that of the mortal folk. This has created a lot of tension between Fay and mortals, and since the demise of the Alidan Empire these tensions are only increasing, escalating to outright war in the
Confederation of Marath.

Anathema
Once upon a time, before there was even the Alidan Empire, there existed a mortal tribe which rebelled against Kilian and even attempted to kill the god. For this crime they were cursed and banished to live in the frozen land to the east (since then named the Savage Lands) forever the outcasts. During the reign of the emperor Nevus Anathema returned to the heartland of Revea, and stories of their atrocities are told to this day. Fortunately, with the tyrant gone they were again cast out of the civilised lands.

Adventurers
Adventurer is anyone registered at the Adventurer Guild who does various quests provided by the Guild. That’s the simple definition, but today, after the Guild’s network of Guild Halls has been greatly damaged by war against Nevus and the subsequent wars between the Heroes, anyone who wanders between towns doing odd jobs, monster and treasure hunting will be called an adventurer

Monsters
Just like with the adventurers, there’s a simple definition for what a monster is, and then there’s reality. Monsters are all animals that are capable of using magic- that’s the simple part. However, depending on how it’s convenient to a person, he may even label sentient beings such as dragons, Fay and Anathema as “monsters”.

Dungeons
Dungeons are magic-filled places put in the world by the gods as a test to see who is worthy of wielding the Divine Relics (see below). Dungeons are usually filled with myriad of monsters and traps which strive to thwart and even kill any would-be explorer who dares to trespass in it. Still, the lure of owning (or selling) a Divine Relic is too great of a temptation for most adventurers, not to mention that there is other treasure besides the Relics, so every day a new party tries to test its skill and often fails and perishes.

Divine Relics
Items made (or at least blessed) by gods. They hold abilities of incredible might that make the one who wields them without peer, not counting other Divine Relic owners. Holders of the Divine Relics are also made immune to natural death, allowing them to live for hundreds of years. Strange thing about the Divine Relics is that you are not required to worship the god who made it in order to use its full power. Divine Relics are found at the deepest (or highest) parts of a dungeon.

DRACONIC KINGDOM, LANGUA

Location of Velte, Mimori, Eri, Harmonic, Ranca and Tori.

My Hider

Unlike other Heroes who founded their countries after the demise of the last Alidan emperor, Langua was the realm of the Dragon of the Rainbow since the early days of the empire. Yar was given the western land known today as the Draconic Kingdom as a reward for his faithful service to the first emperor. Since then Yar has administered and protected his realm with dutiful devotion, never asking for more but also never allowing anyone to infringe on his domain. Even after other Heroes, led by foolish ambition, began waging wars against each other, the Dragon-king Yar only sought to protect what was already his, providing his subjects with safety and security in this time of the warring states. For this, the people of Langua are grateful to their king.

Social Order

The king Yar stands at the helm of the country, but he is aided in his guidance of the common folk by a great number of other dragons and the Dragonborn. These beings are absolute in the Draconic Kingdom and hold the most power, but beneath them the nobility also has some influence in the decision making. In return for answering the call to arms of their king, nobles get to rule small portions of the kingdom and can rise to become ministers or some other position of power. After nobles are the citizens- commoners who are free to live and travel wherever they wish and be as rich as their ability allows them, but have no say in how the country is governed. Lastly come the serfs, people tied to their land and servitude of the nobles and dragons.

All in all, it is a very feudal society.

Religion

People of Langua, together with their Dragon-king, are true followers of Kilin. Certainly, there is sizable Fay population within the kingdom, mostly in the Eleghur forest in the western parts, but the wise king Yar has made sure that they can’t destabilize the country.

Kilian temples in Langua teach that the dragons are the children of Kilin, and that it is the duty of mortals to obey and revere them. Their progeny is just as holy and an average commoner should treat them with the respect which befits their station.

Capital

Capital of the Draconic Kingdom is Verzales, probably the largest city in the western region of the old empire. It is only natural, considering that Verzales has not seen war in five centuries. This long period of peace has led to prosperity and with prosperity came the flourish of culture. Verzales is renowned across the world for its painters, musicians, writers and its theatres. It used to have a nickname Twice Second City, because it was second to Eternal City in culture and to Yazai in wealth. Today, after the destruction of Eternal City and the formation of the Cursed Realm, Verzales is the place where men and women of learning and talent from all over Revea gather.

Another thing Verzales is famous for today is the number of adventurers you can find, thanks to the fact that the Adventurer Guild shifted its HQ there due to Eternal City’s demise.

Common Sense

Dragonborn- any descendant of one of the dragons who govern the Draconic Kingdom. By their birth they occupy the highest positions in Langua’s society and it is expected of them to accomplish great things. Most Dragonborn marry others of their kind in order to keep the lineage pure, because those who have diluted the blood so much they’ve lost their draconic traits and power lose the status of the Dragonborn and become regular nobility. Although there are dozen Dragonborn families, four of them stand out due to their influence, age and wealth: Ardea, Ognien, Jashar and Ressi.

Fay- fortunately for the people of Langua, the wise king Yar has an understanding with Fay of the Draconic Kingdom to not disturb them and their forests as long as they don’t disturb the people of the kingdom and allow safe passage through their lands to anyone using the highway (anyone who wanders off the highway is considered a fair game for Fay).

Volume 1 Quests

The Land of Yar

Participants: Velte, Mimori, Eri, Ranca and Tori

All roads of Langua lead to Verzales- this is a common saying in the country, but when you turn this around, it means from Verzales you can directly reach any part of the Draconic Kingdom. Every day coaches to the various provinces leave the capital, able to reach the borders of the kingdom in a week. Of course that is for those who can pay while poor fellas like you will have to hitch a ride or make do some other way.

Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like you have to go far on your first journey outside of Verzales. The Quest window shows you Quests which are all located in Yar-agna, the region surrounding the capital. The area is known to be relatively safe due to the constant patrol of the guards and numerous extermination missions in Adventurer Guild have made sure that any newbies like yourself will not have too much of a hard time:

My Hider

Exploration Quest: Citrouille Dungeon
Difficulty: Easy
Rewards: Depends on you, likely low
Known for critters which occasionally creep out of its depths and steal fruits, vegetables and sometimes cattle of the hardworking farmers in Verzales’ surroundings, Citrouille dungeon is, at a glance, just a simple cave. It’s plain entrance, a simple hole in a hillside, shows no sign that there’s anything magical about the place, and the monsters you can see on the first level appear more like your regular animals than actual monsters.

In part, this is because the Divine Relic of Citrouille dungeon is already taken, making the place lose its magical fuel, but it is also because the cave is often visited by starting adventurers who wish to train. Exploring this dungeon is relatively safe experience and only utter buffoon would manage to get himself seriously injured or killed here.

Escort Quest: To the Rousilon, And Further Beyond! (maybe)
Difficulty: Medium
Rewards: 10 Counts (copper) to Rousilon, positive reputation with merchants
Merchant Dolei is looking for a few good men to escort his wagon to the town at the edge of Yar-agna. Because there is not much danger expected on the road the pay is relatively small, but if he is satisfied with you he might offer you to escort him further, at which point you can negotiate for a better reward.

Merchant Guild of Verzales has quite a lot of influence among the nobility of the Draconic Kingdom and even outside the country, so having good relations with it is something a lot of people desire- you never know when you’ll need its wide web of connections.

Bounty Hunter Quest: The Warmag’s Band
Difficulty: Hard
Rewards: 10 Counts (copper), any loot you find
Although Yar-agna is considered a safe region, from time to time a bandit group would appear thinking that they will find people unaccustomed to danger and thus easily robbed. This is not entirely wrong, but while peasants and merchants may be unused to danger, the City Watch certainly isn’t such a pushover to let any bandit group hang around for too long and wreck too much havoc.

Still, as of yet, the Warmag’s Band has yet to do anything more serious than a road shakedown. There have been no murders or large property damage, so the City Watch is content with just putting up a bounty on Warmag’s head.

Messenger Quest: Charlotte’s Willing To Help
Difficulty: Medium
Rewards: 5 Counts (copper), positive reputation with the Ognien family
Somewhat aware of your situation, Charlotte’s noblesse oblige does not allow her to simply dump you after entering Verzales. She decided to give you a simple job to earn some starting money. You need to deliver her message to another person of the Ognien family who is already in the capital. That’s it. There’s a catch, however.

You see, Ognien family is very old Dragonborn family, descendant of the fire attribute dragon Ognien, and they have a lot of enemies. There will probably be individuals and organizations that would try and steal the message from you (dead or alive) or simply offer to buy it off of you. Work hard and don't disappoint Charlotte’s good intentions!

CELESTIAL EMPIRE

Location of Dragon Rayo, Miyu, Orion, Takeyoshi and Sophia.

Covering nearly the third of the old empire's territory, the Celestial Empire is Revea's largest and most powerful nation. There’s no other country which can match its splendour or the vastness of its armies, and it is all thanks to the wisdom, cunning and might of Tzianxi, the Son of Heaven. It is he who united the fragmented tribes and principalities in the eastern parts of the dead Alidan Empire, it is he who wrestled the control of Yazai from Pelephon and eventually killed the foolish Hero, and it is he who personally led the Imperial Army on great conquests, only stopped with the combined might of three other kingdoms. Yet, it is only a temporary setback, for the power of the Celestial Empire cannot be contained by mere mortals! Tzianxi is the Son of Heaven and he will see his Celestial Empire spread over the entire Revea. If the Alidans could do it with the guidance of their simpleminded god, then how could the child of Meya, a goddess whose cunning and knowledge know no bounds, not?

Social Order

People of the Celestial Empire are split into two groups: Meyans and everyone else. If you are Meyan, all paths to grandeur are open to you. Either through shrewd trade, bravery on battlefield or diligent and just work in the Imperial administration you can rise to reach positions of great power (and wealth) in the empire. There’s no nobility, only good and capable men and women who are willing to work themselves to the bone for the glory and might of the nation. If you are member of other religions, well, what are you waiting for? Accept Meya as your goddess and truly become part of the Celestial Empire!

Religion

The Celestial Empire is the only Meyan nation in the world, and it is Meyan through and through. Although it tolerates the presence of other religions within its borders (in fact, a third of the empire’s population is not Meyan), Meyans pay lower taxes, have access to all career paths, enjoy equal rights with all other Meyans before the law and they are not in danger of being suddenly conscripted on some big public project, such as building bridges, fortresses, public baths, etc.

Capital

Yazai, or the Greatest City of the World (or just the City), is the largest city in Revea, having more population than its next four competitors combined. Located on Feng Qi strait, which is a knot of several important trade routes in Revea (and beyond), Yazai possesses the riches beyond imagining of the people who have never been there. Even before the Eternal City’s demise Yazai had already surpassed it in splendour, but now no other city comes close to matching it. Despite the Meyan nature of the Celestial Empire, Yazai is filled with people of various religions, who come from all of Revea’s nations, making it also the most cosmopolitan city.

Sometimes, some outsiders would comment how the City, its customs and its citizens can be quite strange, even borderline insane on occasion, but who cares about the ramblings of the country bumpkins who can’t handle the lifestyle of a true city?

Common Sense

Festival of Regeneration- an annual festival which marks the birthday of the Son of Heaven. It is the greatest event occurring in Yazai where people from all over the empire come to see it, and even from other parts of Revea.

Volume 1 Quests

The Rhythm of Yazai

Participants: Dragon Rayo, Miyu, Orion, Takeyoshi and Sophia

Another beautiful day in Yazai! The streets are filled with creatures of all races, religions, shapes and sizes, with carts and mounts and occasionally some kind of tech-thingies that you are not familiar with as of yet. Everyone is running somewhere, everyone is looking for new opportunities on this wonderful morning, and you should join them, or else you’ll be forced to live on scraps your entire new life.

Oh, did I forget to mention? It has been three days since you arrived to this city (and this world, let’s not forget that!) and your stomach is sounding loud protests on the lack of input. However, you are broke, so your only choice is to find some kind of job.

Fortunately, your trusty buddy the pop-up window has your back!

Exploration Quest: Qaizan Dungeon
Difficulty: Medium
Reward: Depends on you
In the main square of the Qaizan district of Yazai, located right before the gates leading to the courtyard of the High Temple of Meya, is a teleportation circle. This circle leads to the first of a series of structures hovering high above Yazai. They are all together called the “Qaizan Dungeon”, after the name of the temple district, and each structure is actually one dungeon floor. You can see first few floors from Yazai, but the dungeon goes so high up it is impossible to count their exact number.

Qaizan Dungeon is a favourite of the local adventurers: it is located right within the city so you can easily replenish supplies and sell loot, it has not been fully explored so there’s always possibility of acquiring great riches, and lastly, its Divine Relic has yet to be reached.

Extermination Quest: Sewer Pest Removal
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: Any items found on the corpses of the previous groups sent, 10 Yin (copper)
Down in the sewers some creature has made its home. The Council of Public Health is in a pinch because the few groups sent to deal with it have yet to come back, but the Black Helmed Guardians find the task of dealing with sewer vermin to be beneath them, so a call for any adventurers or people who feel that way has been sent out.

Yazai sewers are a labyrinth of tunnels stretching for miles beneath the city and nobody really knows all pathways and how deep it goes. Fortunately, most of the sewer system necessary for the City to work is close to the surface and all important tunnels are mapped, so there should be no danger of getting lost. Probably.

Gangsta Quest: Neck Deep in S***
Difficulty: Medium
Reward: Opportunity to become a member of Palepi Imps (and maybe even their leader)
A small time gang from Megdan district that bit off more than it can chew is now looking for help against its competitors. Originally bunch of homeless kids from Omari slums who thought of making it big in the arena district, Palepi Imps have pissed every already established gang in Megdan simply by existing. If they were good at diplomacy they might’ve been able to play various rivals against each other, but instead they managed to get them united in desire to crush the cocky upstarts.

Megdan district is the location of Yazai’s largest arena. The district is chuck full of the arena veterans who can’t fight there anymore due to age or wounds, and young punks who were refused access to the arena for various reasons, so it is a perfect place for strong and violent people to gather and form gangs.

Real Estate Quest: The Exorcist
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: An apartment
One of the better apartment buildings in Xixia district has become haunted by ghosts. More precisely, one of their apartments is, but the fear of the ghosts spreading out further has already made a lot of residents leave. The owner has offered to let anyone who exorcises the ghost take the haunted apartment as his own, free of charge. This has already created numerous corpses so more and more people opt not to take the offer.

Xixia is the central district of Yazai. It is located on both shores of Feng Qi straight. On its eastern shore is the Royal Palace, but the larger western part is home to many businesses, such as elite craftsmen, luxurious inns, expensive shops etc. Suffice to say that getting an apartment here is definitely not cheap.
