They are more of a defense force, but yes. We have made stations within the clinic designed for the respective factions. They don’t get any special treatment more than even the ice haulers. We just separate them to keep it within a neutral environment as possible.

Almost an impossible task, I bet.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Commander Greyson: Sure thing, If we look here...

*He scrolls and highlights a section of the map in his holo-projection, there is this bunker-ish section outside the main jungle dome*

Commander Greyson: If we teleport you here you should be quite good, but you'll need to find ways to follow us with your guardian angel, because it won't be a place where you could see all the action, and thus far we think it may be lacking guards but we ain't sure, so we will give you both some armour, take it or leave it at your own risks...

Soldier Boy: Yeah, and make sure you are ready for sudden attacks, i may and underlining MAY, be able to turn you invisible using the Tesseract, but it is not guaranteed it can last endlessly... depending on the range of influence... also watch out for those mutants... they be something else...

That's as good a deal as any. Let's go.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

It was integral for the clinic to become what it is now.

Do you treat the people your military go after?
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Yes, essentially.

Oh wow. Sounds dangerous.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

We do, and they are not to be trifled with. As we have an oath to aid those injured and keep them alive, theirs is to protect the injured eliminate threats.
*smiles*
They are more than incentivized to do their jobs with maximum dedication and efficiency. We’ve had multiple agents of the surrounding governments become fully fledged members of the clinic. Essentially turning against their factions.

Does that make you your own country?
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Commander Greyson: Yup... and we contained it appropriately, and every time we need help, it seems to have an almost symbiotical relationship with Soldier Boy here, so he can make it shrink if it grows too big, and he's literally essentially another scientist in the lab due to how this thing allows him to interact with it.

*He pats me on the back proudly*

Soldier Boy: Yeah, anyway about the mission...?

*I evidently awkarded out from the subject redirect the topic to the matter at hand*

Soldier Boy: So where are we landing, what are we expecting?

Commander Greyson: Right... yeah... We're going to approach the jungle domes of Phobos, and from there we will scout out....

*He goes on describing the plans, of which mostly talk about how we approach the base of operations of these pirates, and how we will land undetected*

Commander Greyson: So are you all ready?

I think so. Do you have a good vantage point for me to observe?
<Snipped quote by Memory>

*nods*
For the most part, yes. Even the bandits and pirates as long as they are cooperative and follow our rules.

If you're attacked often, does that mean you have your own military?
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Commander Greyson: Well... uuh... what are you insinuating? I mean other than me being more dedicated to protecting people and eradicating crime and encouraging diplomacy... but that's just a worldview change, and most heroic military icons across history are known to aspire for similar goals. I guess that's the only lasting effect... and if you mean the piece that is currently still in the lab... well it strangely grew out into an irregular piece of quartz that glows in similar colours It's alien as hell, but it's not the strangest thing we came across when exploring the Milky Way galaxy...

That sounds like it could be dangerous. What if it goes out of control?
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Soldier Boy: I don't know... did it Grey?

*I turn inquisitively towards him*

Commander Greyson: Did it change me... hmmm... well as you put it, the only thing i felt when i tried lifting that enigma up, was a warm and fuzzy feeling in my heart, and then i had a sort of vision, if you will, of how valuable all life is, and how important it is that i am sacrificing myself to defend the good guys...

*A tear falls down his cheek*

Commander Greyson: Boy such fulfilment, i think this is a gift from God... yes call me religious now... but i have no other explanation for the experience, other than that, i'm still myself...

Soldier Boy: Yeah he did cry then too... which was so fucking weird... We are still researching it, and thus far we can only say it has some trans-dimensional nature of sorts if it makes any sense... I did manage to chip a bit off it, which weirdly enough regenerated instantly, which the military could use to enhance the teleportation tech...

Did that piece have any lasting effect on anyone?
