*Shakes my head*
Nevermind. From what I heard- I got here late- is that they know she’s a clone. But might need you to verify that for certain?

<Snipped quote by Audacious>

I... I could, but honestly Stella's—

They want to figure out whether the patient is the same version of their friend that they recognize, not a different clone. Apparently they didn't realize they were friends with a clone at all until today.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

You do radiate confidence, and the enthusiasm that cones with it. That’s not such a bad thing, is it?

<Snipped quote by Meta>

*Holds my hands out toward you to emphasize your point*

Well, we said we were going to fix your friend, right? We'd look bad if we weren't ready to do something way harder than that.
<Snipped quote by Meta>

Oh yeah, we’ve met her.
*Looks her way*
She’s got some pep in her, for sure.

*Sticks my gloves into one of the sanitizing mists*
I'm tempted to resent that.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

*Narrows my eyes ever so slightly in thought*
… Scarily good. I give you scarily good.

Just wait and see. You'll be impressed.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Typically that'll do insignificant 'dimming,' just barely enough to be notable. But most types of souls recover from that pretty quickly, even outside of the body.

Can they make a soul harder to recover? Like some kind of anti-recovery poison?
<Snipped quote by Legend>

Looks like we’ll get to ask, too. These folks seem like a well oiled machine.

*Snaps*
Best in all the worlds.

*Smiles and records another*

Thanks, Dawn. I appreciate it. We're in Lab K. I'll cover things before you get here.

*Sends the message*

Dawn'll be here in a little bit. Let's get the patient covered up.

*Looks to Envy*

Take her dad to another area for a bit, okay?

*Envy nods and picks his corpse up, walking through a door in the back as I start draping sheets over Artemis*

Oh, right.

*Places the growing spinal cord in a box*

Well, Stella, in most human-esque species, the soul is interlinked with part of the consciousness. The more you feel something extreme, especially things like hatred, the more the soul reacts. If she was trying to harm herself, for example, that would link to a dimming of her soul.

*Pauses*

But mind-altering substances can also give a temporary dimming, due to the disruption of the consciousness.

Huh. Amazing, I take it back, I was wrong.
*Listens, enamored with the lesson*
What if you knocked someone out before killing them? What would happen to their soul?
<Snipped quote by Memory>

That would explain the soul's dimmed state, too.

Can you explain that part to me, pretty please?
<Snipped quote by Memory>

*Looks back at the metal square with a distant look in my eyes*

So far so good. We'll need to put a little extra oomph in her soul to get it regenerating, but -

*Gestures lightly with the now foot-long bit of spinal cord, which now has a slight bulb at the top end*

- the nervous system is coming along. The extra material should be get to a decent size soon, which will speed things up.

*Makes a face when I draw a blood sample into a syringe*
Blood's polluted. Neurotoxins. Stimulants. It's like she was trying to die.

*Replies*
My eyes are the only way to help them?

Aaaand here we go.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

*Smiles*

Well, if we don't get a response soon, you can go ask her in person.

That aside, 's everything stable?
