So, no structures or anything? Nothing for Jin to hide behind?
Hey Crimmy, can you describe what Jin is running through?
Jin was going to give the bow back later...
@t2wave

Halfway toward class, Kijani was called into the office. Apparently she'd been chosen to play ambassador (or as she thought of it "babysitter") to a new student. While she obeyed without complaint, her feelings were mixed. In truth, she wasn't sure if she was prepared for a class with guns in it. Even looking at a gun made her feel unbalanced and ill. Before she'd gone off for the summer, the school had been attempting to get Kijani into therapy. She'd made every excuse not to go -- she wasn't about to tell some random stranger about her issues. Still, being saddled with some wide-eyed freshman wasn't exactly the way she wanted to start the year.

Oh well.

Entering and walking straight up who she assumed was the new student, she suppressed the urge to be surprised. This person was definitely not human, or even close. Definitely more interesting than she'd considered. Best to stick to the point, though. "Are you Medora? I'm Kijani. I'm here to show you around." She flashed a polite smile. "Let's go. What class are you headed for?" No point in delaying when class was probably about to start. This girl (at least Kijani assumed Medora was female) would be getting enough attention without showing up late.
*crawls out of a hole* uggggh

My post sucks, there was supposed to be more, but I gorgot. Anyway I looked up "Domovoi" on the FF Wikia...

*crawls back into said hole* 6 days I'm working this week, they're trying tto murder my.
Jin was surprised multiple times over the last few minutes. The first surprise came when an Imperial soldier tried to intercept her. He was clearly using magic, but something about it felt strange. Different than anything she'd felt before. He shot giant thorns of ice at her, and Jin found herself adjusting her wind spell just so, making the attacks miss her by inches. The soldier couldn't keep up, and fell behind.

The second and third surprises came from the same person. The yellow-haired man who'd instructed her toward safety had some kind of unusual sword. More striking than that was the magic he used. She felt it, like an odd ringing in her ears. It wasn't the fire, it was what came afterward. That soldier wasn't there anymore. Barely a scrap of him remained. Nothing to bury, even, to inter to the Goddesses. Even though these people were trying to attack her, that didn't seem quite fair.

When the man approached her, his eyes studying her, she stared right back at him right in the eyes. It was a bit disrespectful to do to a stranger, but Jin wasn't quite sure if she was safe with these people just yet. She'd been about to ask him why he'd killed that soldier so, but then the man started speaking. It took her a few moments to translate his speech, but the moment he said "Goddess Eden", she blinked several times in confusion. He looked human, but he knew of both Goddesses? She didn't think any humans did.

"That... that... machina is bad, isn't it?" Her Common was a little rusty, and she probably sounded a little strange to them. No matter, there would be time for lessons later. "Tell me, how do I help? I am Jin, daughter of the North Mountain Domovoi clan." She bowed her head in greeting. "I can shoot and I am quick, and this land is my home. I will fight with you, only tell me what to do."
Sakura's glare at the creature in the form of a student broke when Jin suddenly started moving. Before she could react, they were already on the attack, but the situation they were all in faded into the background as tears welled up in her eyes.

"You're... alright." She said, almost a whisper, then suddenly threw her arms around her friend's neck. "You're alright!" she cried again, practically swinging them by their neck. After a few moments, she snapped back to reality, or whatever passed for reality here. The situation was becoming far too surreal for her to take in all at once, and she figured she'd have a breakdown later, but for the moment everything was strangely clear to her. She settled onto her knees behind Jin, still with her arms around their neck.

"Agi" She said, almost lazily, commanding her other self to launch her own ball of flame in retort. She raised herself to her feet, picking up the bow she had dropped, and looked at it for a second. Seeming to come to a decision, she unbuckled her quiver from around her waist and handed both to Jin.

"You're still a better shot than me, for now." She said, a barely visible grin on her face.

Jin would deal with the sudden, confusing flood of warmth coming from Sakura's body later. Taking the bow with a nod of thanks, Jin took a moment to line up a shot, exhale and fire. Once the shot was off, they whipped the quiver around their shoulder and buckled it in one swift movement. Everything after that happened so quickly. That thing spoke, in a horrible voice that Jin would be digging out of their nightmares for weeks, and then there was fire. Someone tried to play hero, Senhime was on fire, and...

"HEY! HEYYY!" Jin loosed four arrows, one after another. Not really aiming for a kill-shot, but looking for attention. "Right here! Come on, you ugly fucker! Fight someone worth challenging. Clotho, come on!" After calling their Persona, Jin darted toward the shadow-monster, and away from Senhime. "Cool but not cold water, get it covered and get her the fuck out of here!"

Hoping the shadow would follow, Jin and Clotho took off running.
