Undina exhaled slowly. There was nothing for it- and nothing for her to go back to. "I promise, yes." She looked into Akio's eyes, which were rather nice, and smiled. It was a small smile, but it was real. She may not have any family left, but perhaps he could become someone nice enough to rely on.
We don't have to start fresh fresh, just maybe something happened to the school.

If we do start completely fresh, I will totally miss Connor and Kijani's relationship.

The priest had told them to touch their hands together, and Undina could feel him shaking. His hands were warm and a little wet. She wondered if all humans had skin like that. "We'll learn to be friends." She offered him a nervous smile, and hoped that her words would soothe them both.
