Okay, I'm trying to get back into it here. I appreciate your waiting.
"Migraine..." Jinny repeated along the way. "I don't like it." She went very still as she was carried, her face pressed against his chest to keep away the light.

"I didn't mean to do it. I just wanted to move the weight." But sometimes lessons had to be learned, and pain was unfortunately an excellent teacher. "I hope I didn't break my powers." While her ability was not "broken", it would be a day or so before she could use it without pain.

Once they were upstairs and settled in her room, she quickly grabbed her fluffy cat doll and pressed her face into it.

"I don't think I need anything. I just want to nap." Truth be told, she was weary all over. It seemed her using her power too hard had a physical backlash along with the migraine. Jinny curled up in the bed, whispered "thank you, Uncle" and was already half asleep before Slade left.

Jinny dreamed.

It was now something impossible. She was older, somehow, perhaps ten. A big kid. Her mother was there, showing her how to use her power in a careful way. In the backyard of their home, the two tossed a baseball back and forth with only their minds. Her father watched proudly, as his daughter and wife showed off. It was a happy, beautiful, now impossible scene.

Jinny woke up and looked around, the last vestiges of warmth and joy slipping away with the memory. And she started to cry.
I'll try to get something up.
No new job.

I haven't given up on this, I'm just having a lot of trouble with everything right now. I'll try to post this week, even if it's short.
Kijani made sure her father was in cover before finding a spot herself, her eyes wide and searching. There had to be something, some way out. Some avenue they hadn't tried. She refused to give up here.

Then she saw it. Their window of opportunity; possibly the one one they had left. She raised her gun and fired a few quick shots, then crossed near Adam and her father.

"There, about 2 meters ahead. Garbage chute. I know it isn't ideal, but it's better than here."

Deserts, stormtroopers, gunfights, Jedi, Empire and now literal garbage? What else was this week going to bring her?

"Father, please go. We'll catch up."
Tell me about it. This entire year has been freaking bonkers.
Now its my turn to apologize. I've been stressed to the extreme and my creative side just fizzled out for a while. Trying to get back the reins here.
Meanwhile, while Roxy worked, J and Devika talked on the side.

J grinned, stepping just a little closer to Devika. Now there was definite flirtation in their voice. "Oh, I could teach you plenty. Lots and lots."

Devika stared at them for a long moment, then started laughing. "No, thank you. Just the computers!"

Jin grinned and patted Devika's shoulder. "I like you. You're a good sport. I tried to hit on Roxy exactly once, and -" They shuddered with an extra dramatic motion. "Let's just say it will never happen again."

Devika shook her head. "I can only imagine."
Kassandra smiled as she heard those famous words. She bolted for her room, and was ready and dressed within minutes. Royal orange and green, with golden sandals and a mask to match. And of course, her staff named Damiek, the jeweled eyes of the octopus topper watching over her. Wraith and Starfire had already taken off, so she said her goodbyes to the others.

“I’ll be underwater, you know where to find me.” She dove into the bay and started swimming. No leisure swim this time. This time, she moved. Even without her usual tail, she could lap any human in the water. Such were the blessings of being Atlantean.

Although she’d been a Titan for some time now, she still got a thrill of excitement in her belly with every new mission. She hoped the others felt the same. She hoped she always felt this way about her hero work.

Mirage was starting to approach the yacht, and so she slowed to get a better look at it. Nothing out of the ordinary on the starboard side. She dove deeper, looking underneath the hull for anything strange. No holes, no devices, all the fish had been scared off. Nothing there. As she continued her reconnaissance, she contacted the other Titans on her sturdy waterproof communicator.

“I’m not seeing anything so far, guys. Just lots of smoke and panic.” Indeed, there was a grayish smoke pouring out of the boat, but it didn’t smell like fire. Nor could she see any flames. She poked her head out of the water to get a closer look.

People in fancy clothes screaming and going one way. People in uniforms with guns going another. From her angle, she couldn’t quite see where they were converging. She clutched her octopus staff a little tighter, and headed for the dock to meet up with Robin and Wonder Girl.
Hi. I'm not dead and I haven't quit. Just dealing with... stuff. Going to attempt to post this weekend.
