Kassandra was assisting the other cool-handed girl with getting the civilian to safety. She'd carried the man out of the firefight, and while Iceburn patched him up, she banadged a bullet graze soaking into her coat. Her usual bright costume had been replaced with a version that was dark, deep-water blue and black.
When all hell broke loose, she'd almost physically bitten her tongue to keep from convincing the team to take action. What was the point of being a hero if they were to stand by and watch? It was Viktor, of all people, who broke rank first. That was a surprise. But not an unwelcome one.
As the old man pulled out one of those strange devices and puffed away. She sneezed before backing up. "You're welcome, sir. You should get-" She stopped midsentence, as her mind - then her ears, picked up a cry of anguish. A yell she knew.
"Iceburn, can you see him to safety and return?" This was bad. Very bad. She would have been on her way already, if not for the two of them.
